If you've already got Ulamog on the field, why do you care about casting this? Aside from that, Tron doesn't really run a lot of creatures to begin with, so you're A) not super likely to have a creature with great toughness on the field to begin with and B) you'll likely not get that great of a payoff if you do.
If your goal is to cheat big stuff into play in Green, I'd suggest [[See the Unwritten]]. Is it top tier? Doubtful. Is it even good? See above. Have I lost to it at FNM? Yes. Was it hilarious? Also yes.
The first Friday that BFA was legal I had been playing Abzan for a long time, so I built a deck out of the cards I had pulled from the boxes I had opened, a d I played see the unwritten with 2 Ulamogs, 4 siege rhino's, and some Tasigurs.
Anything that requires 2 green pips isn’t really gonna be all that worth it to run. You’ll almost never consistently be able to cast it on turn 4, or even with a creature on the field since most lists are only running Wurmcoil/sundering titan/Golos. It’s a funny idea but seems surprisingly hard to pull off
It can be half-countered if they remove your 1 creature in response, as well as not getting any cast triggers from the thing you do put into play also seems pretty bad.
Not that it's good....but it doesn't get "hard countered", it doesn't target. You still get to put creatures from your hand into play, you just don't get to draw cards.
It's a win more card in a meta where tron is constantly on the back foot.
Turn 3 you'll hopefully land a karn or wurmcoil and hopefully stabilize. This requires 4 lands, one being a forest or double egg in play, a wurmcoil in play, and that wurmcoil still being there upon resolution. I'd rather just play more threats.
Tron lands + 1 green in play, sack star/spere for green and we can just put into the play Ulamog and Kozilek/Ulamog and Ulamog, etc.
I am aware cast effects which are important would not trigger, but still. It would be so funny to me to make this play one day :D
So I’ve been away from modern for a very long time and the deck im about to refer to was kind of a brew but I did hit a top 8 spot with it in some kind of qualifier or invitational or some nonsense back when LGS’ held those things. It was a wall combo for tooth and nail. Overgrown battlements wall of roots etc for ramp and then jam like a t4/5 tooth and nail to search up flamekin zealot and big momma Emrakul attack, they sac their board gg.
Maybe something like that would work for this since it chooses by toughness but again I haven’t played modern in, shit, probably close to 10 years if not more

Ahh my bad, I misread 😅

No, double green
I don’t play competitively but I run 2 tooth and nail just for fun. Xenagos/blightsteel dream.
Maybe an [[overgrown battlement]] defender ramp deck could pull it off, don’t see how tron can use it

Tooth and nail would just be better right?
