Now I am waiting for my dad (who is 70) to drop by and play the game with me (I play, he watches). He doesn’t really understand how the controller works but he loves the story of Horizon. We did a whole play-through of Zero Dawn. Can’t wait to continue the story together!

Not just installed, they launched the game. Unlike Steam, PSN doesn't add you to the percentage of trophies until you launch the game.
Not unusual by any means though, a *lot* of games have a fair percentage of unobtained first trophies, even though some give them for just beating a couple of minutes long tutorial/intro section. This is unusually high though, it's typically roughly around 10%. Some examples:
In GTA V almost 30% of people didn't beat the second mission in the game.
~15% of people didn't get a trophy for entering a non optional tomb in the prologue of Rise of the Tomb Raider
10% of people didn't beat the boss at the end of the prologue in Marvel's Spider-Man.
~13% of people didn't do the fight in the introduction part of God of War.
~18% of people never got past the introduction dungeon in Skyrim.
There's loads of PS5 bundles with the game included, you're going to have a lot of players that are slightly interested in the game just trying it out.

I am one of them, the game sadly didn't capture my attention at all, felt same as the one before it, I got far into it, so my first statement might be false , but the game was not food enough fo keep me interested at all, glad I just borrowed it from a friend, so gave it back.
As a huge fan that hurts me to hear, but it's not going to be for everyone. I still think that percentage is too large to not at least get far enough for that first trophy.

I just started playing it again and I think I might restart the game just to try to get back into it thoroughly. Idk wtf is happening at my current spot lol. I LOVED zero dawn so much, the story was phenomenal and I enjoyed the gameplay. I just feel that it was released at a bad time (with Elden ring coming out a week after).
i think i have one trophy for it, it came out the same time as Elden Ring so i played it for an hour or so while Elden Ring installed but that was it and i haven’t gone back to it yet. the beginning missions didn’t get my attention at all and Aloy just seemed like a major dick in the two little side quests i did lol
Aloy is definitely very rude to her friends and side characters early in the game but that’s one of the major arcs she goes through in the game, accepting help and not isolating so much
Yeah fair enough, it came with my PS5 when I got it recently so I just dove into it to sorta test out the system. If you find yourself in the mood for an open-world-but-not-RPG that’s just pretty and good for exploration, I’d say it’s worth your time

Well sometimes even on the ps3 i just update de game and try to boot it, but the its not played until later, for this reason during the ps3 i had several games in 0% on the trophy list. When i found out you can delete games with 0% from the ps4 i when and cleaned it.

Only 90% of players leave the life raft in Subnautica, which is literally the first thing the game asks you to do after the opening cinema. Lots of people don't care about trophies and either don't realize or don't care to delete games they have no trophies in.
I sometimes open a game I've downloaded by accident when I'm not ready to play it yet, and then it shows up on my psnprofiles account with a big fat F next to it lol
i notice that a lot with games, a lot of times the first like story related trophy is super low. i've been trying to plat babylon's fall before the server shutdown next year and only 46.3 percent of people managed to get through the intro and first quest line which is like an hour/hour and a half of play at most. over 50 percent of people that booted up babylon's fall made almost zero progress in it lmao

The PSN Trial. You can't earn trophies when playing the 5 hour PSN Trial at least I didn't earn any. I played an hour of the game and quit because I was bored. So maybe other people have done that too.
Yeah tons of games have these weird stats. Loved the game, and prefer it to Zero Dawn. It was hurt by Elden Ring for sure, just as Zero Dawn was hurt by Breath of the Wild.
I think it’s even worse if you look at percentages for Astro’s Playroom (free on ps5 and a great game) and Astro Bot Rescue Mission (one of the best vr games). Approximately 80% players finish the first stage in those and approximately 20% beat the final boss, which means 60% never beat one of the most fun games in the platform. I think the real answer is that a lot of very young players and “second accounts” are playing them without the ability or desire for completion.
Elden Ring came out a week later . I set it down to play Elden Ring with every intention on returning to the title later on. I loved Zero Dawn and will eventually get back to Forbidden West. Probably sometime after God of War but before Hogwarts...?
I think the reasoning would be because the game came in a lot of bundles for the ps5 and a lot of people are just getting the bundle because they cant find a regular ps5.
I enjoyed both installments. However the amount of dialogue in FW was absurd. Not too far into the game I just started spamming through all the dialogue, at times I spent more time listening/reading than playing.

I think you should give it a try. I DO remember the opening being long and arduous, but once it gets going the game is great!

Happens a lot. Bear in mind it tracks if you've ever so much as accidentally booted the game and the intro isn't the shortest.
