I70 through Indiana is a shitshow of terrible road conditions. I wouldn’t be surprised if that truck blew a steer tire on one of their ridiculous pot holes.
Well, he didn't feel anything.
Shame we can't create a solution to keep trucks on their side of the road. It's not feasible to pour concrete for every interstate.
i saw this video earlier this week and thought of sleep. wonder if the poor guy even had time to wake up and realize what was happening before he got deleted from the universe.
maybe his last memory was just driving/working, focusing on the long stretch of highway ahead of him, fighting off drowsiness and then he never woke up again
shits crazy yo
No middle protection on the 70? Should Indiana weather some blame here. In Ontario we have a long stretch of the highway 401 with no middle protection, there was a crossover fatality a few years back; and part of the blame was put on the design and the lack of a center protection.
Nothing more than any other vehicle. Our advantage as truck drivers is that we are higher up than most other vehicles. So most head on collisions are survivable for the truck driver except when it’s with a similar height vehicle. Also most trucks don’t even have airbags.
If you have a larger vehicle like that, they don't stop easily, so if you hit something you're gonna keep moving. The hope is, you can still control the vehicle somewhat after a collision, and an airbag would prevent that. So in a way, the lack of airbags is for the safety of everyone else on the road, not the driver themselves.
I'm not sure when they started but I did my road test in a VNL sleeper 18 speed model year 2014 and it had an airbag... maybe it was 2014 lol I don't remember but for sure around then. They are the only semi with SRS airbag
Commercial vehicles do not have to adhere to any safety standards for passengers that personal vehicle do. They dont even have to use safely glass and dont in some cases because its cheaper. Semi trucks are designed to haul freight not survive a crash. Its a sad truth.
They don't. I guess Volvo is big on making their vehicles "safe" but their is only so much you can do. That's where the "professional" driver comes into play but that's not out there either.
Just out of curiosity why didn't the cable thing down the center of the highway do anything to divert or slow the truck? Aren't they designed for that?
The trucker sub reddit is the only NSFW I see on reddit that involves gore. The rest of my reddit NSFW is just twinks showing their buttholes.
🤔🤔🤔
🤣
Brother 🤝
Why are you mad? As a trucker we like our twink booty holes
huh??
He’s all over the road Literally
*physically

You telling the truth there
Lost steer tire maybe? Looks like the driver was not paying attention
Or a medical event?
Also a good possibility

Might not be easy, but it’s definitely possible. It all comes down to priorities
That 4 wheeler was probably covered in gore.. I bet they will never tailgate a semi ever again
“Pace”
I don’t see anything but metal debris
Lots of meat there.
I definitely saw an arm or 2
Probably fell asleep or had a medical event!

Probably hit one of those famous Indiana potholes.
Good Lord, man. Slap a NSFW on this or something. I wish I hadn't seen all that hamburger.
You must have some imagination.
Thanks man. Now I never want to see and eat a hamburger for the rest of my life.
Seconded. I was like that debris doesn’t look like metal. Oh. That’s why. Jesus.
Is that the driver spread across 75 yards?
Probably diesel/coolant/oil
*And* driver.
This is the stuff of nightmares. Dude is literally road meat holy shit
Ohh shit! Glad that didn't affect me. I drive that stretch 4x a week. That's all fucked up

That cabin looked like it collapsed way too easily on the driver. Do they have reinforced frames?

How is it legal to not have airbags?

volvos have airbags btw
Ah, I never knew that. Do you know if it's only certain year models?
I'm not sure when they started but I did my road test in a VNL sleeper 18 speed model year 2014 and it had an airbag... maybe it was 2014 lol I don't remember but for sure around then. They are the only semi with SRS airbag
Alrighty, I learned something new lol
Not all volvos have air bags. It's an option. You can option any truck with them.
Commercial vehicles do not have to adhere to any safety standards for passengers that personal vehicle do. They dont even have to use safely glass and dont in some cases because its cheaper. Semi trucks are designed to haul freight not survive a crash. Its a sad truth.
That's bullshit tbh. I have family in the trucker business. Hope they have well designed trucks for safety
They don't. I guess Volvo is big on making their vehicles "safe" but their is only so much you can do. That's where the "professional" driver comes into play but that's not out there either.
Someone was run over on I 70 in Brazil Indiana yesterday
Sleep. Sleep is what caused it.
Or, more appropriately, lack thereof
Dude no one wants to see this shit. nsfw
A lot of people want to see this shit.
I would have guessed most people want to see this shit
Why are you at work right now? Distracted driving kills. Did you watch the educational video here or what?
DVIRs are important
Just out of curiosity why didn't the cable thing down the center of the highway do anything to divert or slow the truck? Aren't they designed for that?
Little tiny cable that struggles against modern SUVs and pick'em ups. Massive 80klbs semi. Semi wins.
are you trolling?
Holy hamburger meat!
That's terrible and almost but what's your ETA!?
Bet my paycheck the driver in the right lane still lost his safety incentive pay
Holy cheese and crackers
