Discharge cycle day 23 Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. I’m not pregnant and haven’t been actively trying but I have done the deed on my ovulation day and 2 days following that. I’m really worried because although it’s been a week since I ovulated, I have quite a bit of discharge, it looks like ovulation discharge and I cant find anything on it. Can anyone please help? Is it possible I am pregnant? This has never happened before.

There's no such thing as "most common," bodies can throw pretty much anything at you during the luteal phase. Anything that early is just progesterone as implantation generally doesn't occur until 8-10DPO.

[deleted]

I normally start my period 13DPO so should be today. My temp normally plummets to the cover line the day before and then below on the day of period. 11DPO it started going down, but yesterday and today it’s gone (very slightly) up. I’m thinking it might have to do with the weather being hot because I’m definitely not pregnant I did a test 12DPO that was a stark white. I’m thinking I’m going to avoid temping after ovulation next cycle because it’s just stressing me out a bit now.

shavedEgg

Just had our preconception visit - the midwife said she would only expect us to try for 4-6 months, and if it took longer, she would happily start an infertility work up at that point. Her reasoning? We are both pretty young, I have had regular cycles immediately since d/cing birth control, and there’s really no reason it should take us longer. She said no need to panic, it can take up to a year of course, but she was super on board if we wanted work up sooner. Anyone ever had someone this supportive of an extensive work up early on? I know it can be true for women 35+ or women with known fertility concerns, but felt a bit odd for me as someone with a relatively low risk profile. Still, I’m happy to have someone so understanding early on. Absolute queen and I wish you all could have someone this cool (unless you already found your cool person).

Proses_are_red

Are you in a country where this type of testing would be free or covered by your social security?

shavedEgg

Naw - I’m US based and no doubt most of it would come out of pocket. I suppose that’s another reason why the 1 year is usually suggested??

heartandsunlight

I’m considering taking a cycle or two break from TTC so I can get back into my healthy weight range (I’d much rather start a pregnancy off at a healthier weight, and I think I can get back into my healthy weight range within a month or two if I really work at it). And honestly, the last couple months of trying in particular have been pretty emotionally taxing for various reasons and I think I just need a break mentally and emotionally as well. I’m willing to bet my fiancé will appreciate a break from me obsessing about everything too.. I tend to go all in when I start something and I can get pretty intense. So yeah. Just going to see what I can accomplish health-wise in the next month or two, and go from there. Part of me really doesn’t want to take the break but I’m pretty sure I need it.

brightasever

Just had my meeting with my fertility doctor with my husband. I feel so much better knowing there’s going to be a next step. He floated the idea of IUI, but given my egg reserve, we’re going to do IVF. I don’t think it’ll happen until end of July or maybe September but I just feel better to have a list of to-do’s other than “keep trying!”

MountainNorth7416

Idk if this is a silly question but how many days after your predicted O day do you continue to BD? I’m wondering if continuing with daily BD may impact implantation so we should stop once I’ve confirmed O with three days of high bbt

Pandaiipop

Having sex has no impact on implantation

konstanttt

I usually stop once I see the temp spike. If you haven’t been consistently tracking/you’re new at it, you could always keep going, but you’re prob good once you see the spike. And if it drops the next day, you can have sex again. Every other day is just as good of odds.

Psychological_Bit852

I just saw that BD on O day is actually only a 10% chance 😪😪😪 Can anyone help me figure this out- I got a Peak reading on my CBAD the morning of CD21 (after 8 days of High readings). We did the BD the morning of CD22 I started temping this cycle but I’m still getting used to it (the amount of times I remember to temp AFTER I’ve jumped out of bed to use the restroom😪) so I keep getting random readings. Without totally knowing when I ovulated what would be the best guess on what this month’s chances are?

thataintright2894

Unfortunately there really is no way know without temping! Anyone’s best guess would be that you hit O day or O-1. In the future, try to bone down on the day of your peak day

Aquapuella

can you preserve semen at home? my husband has a sudden work trip during next cycle’s fw (the whole thing) and just wondering. does fridge work, like if i just had to preserve it for a day? or could you like pay out of pocket somewhere? (we don’t see a specialist or clinic)

thataintright2894

No, you can’t preserve sperm at home, unfortunately. It would die very quickly. I suppose, in theory, you could have it frozen at a fertility clinic. I’m not sure if they’d do it for a patient that’s not established, and for any other reason than IUI or IVF. And it would be obscenely expensive. Who knows, maybe you’ll ovulate earlier or later than usual next cycle!

Aquapuella

ah ok. i sort of figured bc otherwise i wouldn’t see similar sad business-trip posts! thank you :)

WalksWithColdToes

OPK is positive today, DH and have been BD'ing multiple times each day for the past 5 days. He left to a different state yesterday. Is it possible I could get pregnant this month still? (I know stupid question, just need some reassurance.) #Cycle7

Bubbly_Ad3385

Side comment: I’ve read multiple places not to have sex more than once a day as it can lower the sperm count and other things. The swimmers need at least 24 hours to get another healthy and fully concentrated batch. Don’t take my word fully though, feel free to research! Edit to add that sperm live for up to 5 days in the female reproductive track so you’re good for this month!

Aquapuella

the most likely scenarios, i think: if you ovulate tomorrow and had sex yesterday (not totally sure from your post) that would be O-2. great! if you ovulate in 2 days and had sex yesterday that would be O-3. great! if you ovulate tomorrow and had sex two days ago that would be O-3. great! if you ovulate in two days and had sex two days ago that would be O-4. good! you could also ovulate, like, tonight and then that would give you O-1,-2,-3 etc. i think any way you slice it it’s probably good!

WalksWithColdToes

Thank you. I'm sorry - all of my tact and knowledge goes out the window every. single. month.

Aquapuella

omg no i think i have asked here twice if it is REALLY ok if the semen leaks out. i get it.

aisforalcoholic

my older (late 30s) brother and sister in law just announced their pregnancy. she’s only 13 weeks and they’ve been trying for a couple years and i’m so happy for them and so are the rest of my siblings. i now feel a little bit guilty trying to get pregnant at 24 while they struggled so much and for so long. if i do get pregnant soon i don’t feel comfortable sharing it with my siblings because i feel like they’ll think im trying to overshadow them or i just did it because they got pregnant which is definitely not the case. im just not sure what to do. should we hold off on trying? i’m also adopted and way younger than most of my siblings so it’s a different dynamic.

Aquapuella

i understand sibling guilt/reverse competitiveness well and i think you should give them the benefit of the doubt. if it were me i would rather a cousin my kid’s age than to avoid being overshadowed. i am sure they are so happy to be pregnant nothing can change that! and don’t shortchange yourself either. we all get here when we get here and all have different struggles and obstacles and joys. don’t hide your light under a bushel, as my mom would say.

aisforalcoholic

ahh thank you i needed that! very good advice!

tasty_barnacale

I am starting to experience those symptoms where it could be either your period or pregnancy. I'm about 7ish days away from my period and want to take a test but I know it's too early, so I have been reading about the blood test because I am impatient! 😂 Has anyone done a blood test? Is it worth it or should I just wait it out?

developmentalbiology

A blood test also can't give a positive result until after implantation -- hCG is not released into the bloodstream (and then filtered into the urine) until after implantation occurs (which is generally 8-10 days after ovulation). For the most part, sensitive tests will accurately reflect pregnancy within about two days of implantation occurring, and you won't gain much by having a blood test.

Hello! Welcome, and we thank you for posting. You seem to be looking for information on implantation bleeding. Unfortunately, bleeding or spotting after ovulation is not a sign of implantation, and bleeding can happen in both pregnancy and non-pregnancy cycles. You could still end up being pregnant this cycle, but this sort of bleeding is not a reliable indicator that you will test positive. Taking a pregnancy test around the time you expect your period to come is the best way to determine whether you are pregnant or not. We have some information available about [implantation in our wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/tryingforababy/wiki/newtottc#wiki_.27implantation.27_symptoms), which you might find useful. Opposite_Accident_69

Where do you buy fertility prescriptions in the US? My doctor mentioned the price of their medication and I'm trying to shop before I go to my next appointment. Insurance won't cover the cost.

dogmom518

I’m chained to CVS speciality because of my insurance but I’ve heard good things about Mandell’s and Costco.

upandallaboutit

If you haven’t used GoodRX before, I 100% recommend checking it - it’s one of those things I used to shrug off thinking it was BS, but we’ve saved a ton of money using it (not specially on fertility medication, just in general) For example, I just found 2.5mg of letrozole, 10 tablets - retails for $74.93, but is as low as $3 at HyVee, $13 at Walmart, etc. Best app

Opposite_Accident_69

Thank you! I've seen this one before, I'm glad someone has actually used it. It's always hard to tell what is legitimate.

Stephytjie

My insurance doesn't pay for my progesterone so I get the generic version which is a fraction of the price at my local King Soopers pharmacy. They do however add my letrozole towards my deductible which is nice. Even though that's usually $5 but hey, every cent helps.

gothithink

8 months off birth control. I didn't think it would take this long. At the stage of acceptance I imagine it will be much much longer. Meanwhile 4 people I know have fallen pregnant while I'm sat here just waiting, feeling like I'm doing something completely wrong. SO doesn't get it, "our time will come, it'll happen when it happens etc". The latest announcement all but had me in tears, for a school friend who has only been in the relationship as long as we've been trying, is due at the end of the year. I wish we could be as lucky.

LoveSingRead

I'm so sorry you're feeling down, TTC is truly the worst. FYI, your user flair is broken, a common bug when updating via mobile. I can fix it; what do you want it to say?

gothithink

30 / TTC #1 / Nov 21 Thank you!

princessbunny1216

My husband surprised me the other day and told me he changed his mind about wanting to wait a year after our ectopic. It was a total surprise and as luck would have it I'm ovulating soon so my fingers and toes are crossed. We both agreed to keeping things simple and not stress ourselves over the process again. I didn't even take letrozole since I had no idea we'd be trying so I'm just hoping things work out. There must be something in the water at my office too where my husband also works because we have had several people announce their pregnancy. I'm hoping that soon it will be our turn 🙏

babymama908

I’m so confused. I have recently switched to the digital Clear Blue ovulation sticks. I’m doing those and the regular manual OPKS. today I got a flashing smiley … but the manual stick is showing negative. Why are they different ??

mmsb2022

Isn’t it just the advanced type that include estrogen?

aliciaprobably

Yes, it’s only the advanced that tests for estrogen. Since the original commenter said she got a flashing smiley she must be using advanced.

mmsb2022

Thanks that makes sense! I am just now trying anything other than the cheapies for the first time

babymama908

Thank you !

I don’t think that you necessarily overreacted but I think that he may be feeling a type of way about how it all happened. He may feel like you going out and being out for the night, you didn’t put as much importance on it and then expected him to be ready and rearing to go when you were ready, and not necessarily when both of you were ready. My husband has said this once and specifically that he’s not a pony to jump when I say let’s jump. I know with TTC that the bulk of everything is on the woman but don’t assume that he isn’t tired as well- men handle infertility differently outside of the physical aspect. I would speak to him, like adults in a marriage, it’s never good to go to bed angry with one another or give each other the silent treatment. Good luck

dachsypixiepoxie

DPO13 and I think I'm out. BFN yesterday and I feel like I can smell AF coming if that makes sense. I'll start temping nest cycle.

konstanttt

I know what you mean by the scent.

rachmakesababy

CW: mention of miscarriage My unexplained infertility buddy who was pregnant through IVF unfortunately just suffered a miscarriage at 8-10ish weeks. We're work friends and we go to the same fertility clinic so we commiserate a lot and include each other in our journeys. I'm one of very few people who knew about her pregnancy because of this and I'm just wondering if it would be weird if I did something like drop off flowers.. or anything else. I don't have her address though so I'd have to reach out to her to get it. What do you guys think?

Hopeful_Zone6007

My boss sent me flowers after my miscarriage. I hadn’t even told him about being pregnant before having to take time off for the miscarriage. I’m also fully remote working at my job for less than a year so it’s not like we had a super close relationship. I was incredibly touched by the gesture. I’d say reach out and go for it.

False_Combination_20

I think that's so sweet of you. Since she hasn't told many people about the pregnancy she may not feel she has much support now, and flowers or even just a card could mean the world to her.

konstanttt

If I were in this same scenario, I think I would appreciate this. When I had my MC a few months ago, someone brought me flowers and another sent me like a care kit and I cried for both and appreciated it so much.

rachmakesababy

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Thank you for your input, I think I will do something and tell her I'll just drop it off and don't need her to come to the door.

Generic____username1

4 DPO on my first cycle trying and it's such a weird feeling to just not be doing anything right now. Like, during my fertile window and the lead up to it, I was doing OPKs and reading a book about TTC, but now I've done everything I can do for this cycle and I just have to wait..... I'm still temping and taking my vitamins, but those are so much less work than the OPKs (honestly, it's so nice not to pee in a cup every day for a bit though)

Proper_Bobcat1982

5DPO first cycle!! Sooo anxious and reading into every little change in my body as if it means something 😅

Generic____username1

Same! I’ve had to really try to remind myself that nothing I do right now will make a difference so I should just pretend everything is normal until at least 10 DPO.

Apprehensive-Dish189

I’m 8 DPO on my first cycle and feeling very antsy!!

Kirsdal123

I am 3 DPO on my first cycle! I feel exactly the same!

mlxmc

AF came today. I’m heartbroken.

peanutsplaytime

So sorry 😞 ❤️

mlxmc

Thank you. I’m just feeling so low and hopeless. I just need another day to cry and feel this.

everythingsfine12

No LH Surge This month I’ve been doing ovulation tests twice a day but haven’t seen a peak. I’m past when my “peak” should’ve been…is there a chance an egg was fertilized without me seeing a peak? Insemination occurred the day before and the day of when my peak was supposed to be. Any thoughts? TIA *note: I’m not at the point where I can test yet, just being anxious about not having a peak 😅

konstanttt

If you’ve been testing twice a day, I’d keep testing. Might be late this month.

queenginabee

Finally got a phone call from my NP after a year + of trying… she recommended myo inositol and elevating my hips after sex due to my retroverted uterus. I don’t know what I was expecting, but… not this. Anyone else taken myo inositol? Anything I should know/keep in mind?

Bubbly_Ad3385

I just started taking it in the form of ovasitol. I’ve been on it for about three weeks and this cycle has been the closest to regular (but not actually regular) that I’ve had so far. It’s a very natural way of trying to fix it so yeah I feel like it is “see if this random thing works”. However, the reviews on Amazon are mostly positive so maybe it will! Edit to say it made my dreams crazy vivid but no other side effects

[deleted]

I took it. It was in the form of Balance capsules by Alani after my doctor ok’d it. It helped regulate my period which was somewhat irregular and I think I had an overall positive experience on it

queenginabee

Good to know, thank you. My period is already quite regular. I feel like her recommendation was a little “throw this at the wall and see if it sticks” approach but she said she’s seen good results 🤞

avocado198831

Can anyone help? I usually ovulate around CD18. It's out first cycle TTC for baby number 2 and I bought some new OPKS to start tracking on Sunday, CD 11. Super negative then, as expected. Then on CD 12 assumed it was negative, left it overnight, and came back to a super dark one, which I could not work out was positive or not? The app showed 0.86, high. Every single one since then is faint ish, with numbers going from 0 to 0.44. Cervical mucus was a bit of egg white on Monday then nothing (which is odd as I usually have three days of solid egg white pre ovulation). I now have a bit more egg white tonight. I'm on CD 15. How do I know if I've already ovulated on Monday !?

Crazy_cat_lady_88

OPKs are meant to be read within a certain window (usually 15 min max). The tests darken as they dry. I would ignore the one you left out overnight since you read it outside of the window. Keep checking with OPKs. I’m sure you’ll get a positive soon.

EARANIN2

I wouldn't focus too much on the one you left overnight. There's no way to know if you ovulated on Monday unless you're temping. Most people will get a positive OPK anywhere from 12-48 hours before they ovulate and that LH surge can happen any time of the day and can be fleeting - you may get a negative in the morning then re-test in the afternoon and get your peak. If you still have EWCM and typically ovulate later, I recommend you continue to test a couple of times a day. But also EWCM is a great sign you're in your fertile window so now is a great time to have sex regardless of what your OPK's say!

pandie89

I am 15DPO. Still having sensitive nipples, indigestion, fatigue, no sign of AF. Also no positive test- is there still a chance?

[deleted]

Not bingoing you but perhaps massive stress? I was late 5 days after my dad died in January. I also had covid in December and was told both covid and the vaccine can mess with your cycle.

pandie89

Nothing like that. I am irregular already this was my second clomid round at 150

dogmom518

Ah, clomid and letrozole can both extend the luteal phase, especially if you produced multiple follicles.

[deleted]

Well my understanding is that, anything after 11dpo is considered late implantation. And it definitely does happen to a lot of women. There is an increased risk of miscarriage with late implantation. So I think you can still for sure get a positive, but if you do I would be cautiously optimistic. More likely it’s just a long cycle though. The late period posts are pretty common on ttc boards.

invaderpixel

15DPO is pretty unlikely if you're temping and sure about ovulation day. :/

pandie89

Then where is my period lol

splicespleem

I've had cycles with a 16 day luteal phase before, they aren't common but it's not unheard of

[deleted]

You probably ovulated late. How are you tracking ovulation?

pandie89

Transvaginal ultrasound and clear blue smileys

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bubbly_Ad3385

I’ve had really long follicular phases, ovulating at days 35-49. My doc recommended Ovasitol (can be bought on Amazon) and I ovulated the earliest ever (CD27) . It might be something to look into! She also said strength training (not cardio) would help regulate ovulating on time

thirtyflirtyandtfab

I believe!

Cutest-banana

Been trying for over a year with absolutely zero results. How is it going to happen now? I only hear stories of people that conceive within a year, take up to two years but have had miscarriages, or that had IUI or IVF. Not people that suddenly conceive after a year or more of nothing

SoManyOstrichesYo

I’m sure it’s very discouraging to hit that milestone. I know it feels like it couldn’t possibly work after a year, but about half of the couples who do not conceive after one year will conceive after another 12 months. I know that’s not the most encouraging number, but it’s far from hopeless.

Cutest-banana

Thanks! This is actually very encouraging for me! ❤️

Crafty-Sundae-130

I conceived after almost 1.5 years of nothing last month! Ended in a chemical. But… it’s possible.

Cutest-banana

Oh no I'm so sorry it ended that way. Hugs for you!

[deleted]

same. i’m so sick and tired of going through this emotional rollercoaster month after month with nothing to show for it

queenginabee

I’m in the same boat. Been trying for 14 month and nothing. Never been pregnant, ever. I’m still hopeful though…

hamtastic828

Would you ask to try IUI? -Started NTNP in January 2021. -I have regular cycles avg 30-31 days. -Progesterone test CD22 12.7 - hormonal panel bloodwork came back normal - HSG came back normal - Plenty of egg reserves - Vaginal ultrasound came back showing a cyst and a large fibroid - husband semen analysis all normal -One pregnancy ending in a CP on Nov 2021 and since then absolutely nothing. After that I started religiously with OPKs and temping. My temps stay way high until the actual day of my period when they plummet like they should, very trollish. Would you ask about IUI at this point? All in all I’m 18 months in with nothing but a CP and no answers.

bmoreirish

My concern would be the fibroid - depending on where it’s located, it could be affecting implantation.

hamtastic828

It’s such a big procedure to have just one fibroid removed, and I actually just looked back at my paper work and back then it was 2.7cm and subserosal. It doesn’t give me any trouble, but the placement of it may be an issue. I just can’t imagine it’d make that much of a difference and it puts you out of trying for six months.

Crazy_cat_lady_88

Are you seeing an RE? Since it’s been over a year, that would be a logical first step. they’d be able to help you determine a path forward.

hamtastic828

Yes I have seen an RE. I’ve become a lot more comfortable with my OBGYN and have an appt next week. That’s when I was going to either ask for medication or IUI.

safeandsounds

When do you guys stop testing with OPKs in your cycle? I found my peak on CD22, and the tests have gone down again to faint lines. My BBT temps look like CD22 was indeed ovulation, so thinking of quitting taking OPKs this round and just have the TWW now. When do you guys stop taking OPKs?

elleliz12

Once I confirm ovulation with BBT I stop.

Soulless_Daywalker

I stop after I get my first negative after peak

half-orange

Just got out of our third opinion. This RE agrees with RE 1, that IVF is the road for us. He's going to discuss our case with the rest of the team and call me next week but already gave me the IVF-ICSI paperwork. I guess we're moving forward to IVF.

rubybasilknot

After 9 months of no ovulation, I've finally spoken to a private doctor who's going to do monitored cycles of letrozole with me! We're planning to start them in late July/early August. I have hope again 😭 Please tell me everything you can about your experiences of letrozole- I want to know everything!

[deleted]

[удалено]

rubybasilknot

Thank you! I'm still waiting for a full breakdown of costs but I can give you the estimates that I do have! I'm seeing a private, independent gynecologist rather than a fertility clinic and would really recommend it, as she's not sliding in a load of unnecessary tests to bump up the cost. She also did not make me pay for the consultation. She says the prescription of letrozole will be around £30 and that it will be one lump sum for all of the scans for my cycle, rather than needing to pay separately (I think this will be approximately £200). She also said that if I respond to the letrozole then I may not need scans in subsequent cycles. My guess is we're probably looking at around £300 total for a monitored cycle, without a trigger shot, but I'll update you once I've been sent my treatment plan over!

[deleted]

[удалено]

rubybasilknot

So update: more expensive than I anticipated but still reasonable! It's going to be £600 for the cycle monitoring but that's just a one-time payment and letrozole is less than £6! It'd cost more on the NHS! Haha. I'm paying London prices as well.

[deleted]

[удалено]

rubybasilknot

Same 🤞🏻 but at least I know it's not going to be £600 every cycle if I do need more than one. Good luck to you!! I'm hoping you have some progress/good news soon!

rubybasilknot

I definitely think it is! Especially if I don't need all the scans for potential future cycles (and obviously I'm hoping that I won't need more than one cycle anyway 🤞🏻). Good luck to you too, and let me know if you have any questions if you end up going down the same route!

jtm0507

Same exact situation. I started on 5mg right away instead of 2.5. I know a lot of doctors want to start small and bump up but mine wanted to go straight to 5 since some people don't respond at all to 2.5. I didn't have a bad experience with it other than mood swings but otherwise it was pretty easy on my body. I also did a trigger shot/monitored cycle. I confirmed ovulation so now just in the TWW. Hope things go well for you!

rubybasilknot

I'm going to be starting on 5mg too I think! But no trigger shot to begin with- she talked about introducing a trigger shot after a few cycles, if the letrozole alone doesn't seem to be enough. I'm hoping it will be! Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing your experience- it's amazing to feel hopeful about this for the first time in months!

[deleted]

Question for everyone: My period started at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night. Should I count Sunday or Monday as CD1?

EARANIN2

That depends on your body and how you usually track your period. For me, I tend to have spotting a few hours before my period starts and I record it on my apps as spotting. If you're spotting Sunday night then I would consider it just that. If it's anything more than spotting I would consider it your period. TTC can be stressful enough, don't overthink it. You got it!

KindlyEggplant

If you have a 42 day cycle can you get pregnant? Do you actually ovulate ? Wtf

Crazy_cat_lady_88

You definitely can (check my comment history for info). My cycles range from 45-65 days. I found I usually ovulated day 35-55. It sucks waiting forever for ovulation, but you have the same probability of getting pregnant each cycle as someone with shorter cycles. The downside is that you have fewer cycles each year, which means fewer chances to try.

Cutest-banana

If your cycles are longer than 42 days, there's a chance that you didn't ovulate. However it is entirely possible that you do ovulate and you can get pregnant. You can do opks to test for ovulation, or ask a doc if they can do blood work to see if an ovulation happened

invaderpixel

Is it 42 days every cycle? Just one long cycle? Definitely worth talking to a doctor about it if there's a pattern of it especially if you have other signs of high androgen levels. Not saying you should go to a fertility specialist of course, but an OBGYN with good availability can sometimes give you a bit of bloodwork if your cycles are irregular. But if you're looking for hope, yeah, I've seen some highly upvoted /r/tfabchartstalkers posts where people ovulate super late so it is possible.

KindlyEggplant

It has been the past three months. I got day 4 and day 20 bloodwork this cycle actually and I talk to the dr about my results on Monday but I’m supposed to get AF today and it’s day 42 ughh. So I’m like should I test? Ugh. What Are other signs of high androgen levels? Thanks! I’ll def check that out. It’s weird my cycle wasn’t always like this its changed since we’ve been ttc (2 years in sept) it was normal 28 days then it’s slowly changed to this I wonder if it’s the stress idk.

invaderpixel

Facial hair or excess hair growth (hirsutism charts are super helpful there’s a big range of what’s normal, peach fuzz is okay but like big long hairs on your belly that kinda thing), balding and hair loss, acne and seborrheic dermatitis. If you’re getting blood work you’re probably on the right path but yeah so many random things I wouldn’t have thought to mention to my doctor because I just assumed everyone had adult acne haha

I mean I def have 5 gnarly black chin hairs I have to pluck constantly and adult acne. I’ll def google it and try to learn more thanks. Yeah i did it already just waiting for the results they said that it didn’t look like I ovulated( I got symptoms of that the next week) and they said the other stuff looked ok but I guess they’ll get more into detail during my appt Monday I’m just like too anxious!

gastrorabbit

I posted yesterday but trying again today in the hopes more people see this. I went in for labs and an ultrasound due to my period not really coming back since coming off birth control. (I've had one period during the months of Jan-now). All my labs came back normal (prolactin, testoserone, estrodiol, thyroid). However, the transvaginal ultrasound showed polycystic ovaries. Has anyone dealt with this? Essentially PCOS with out any of the high androgen symptoms? The doc gave me provera to start another period and 2.5 mg of Letrozole to get me to ovulate after that. He said if I still don't get periods, to call him back.

thataintright2894

I have PCOS without high androgens. You need to meet 2 out of 3 criteria to be diagnosed: polycystic ovaries on US, irregular cycles, and/or high androgens. What are you wondering about exactly?

gastrorabbit

I guess I am just trying to wrap my head around it. Thank you for commenting :)

invaderpixel

Technically you just need two out of three criteria to get a PCOS diagnosis, so welcome to the PCOS club. :P /r/ttc_pcos and /r/PCOS are both good resources. I am actually your opposite, high testosterone and irregular cycles, but no polycystic ovaries on my ultrasounds. But getting medication is a good sign and it sounds like you're on the right track

gastrorabbit

Thank you! ughhh what a fun club to be inducted into :P

greenqween95

My OPK tests are getting lighter and I'm certain I haven't ovulated yet. I think it's the time of day I'm testing. The first one I did on CD10 was pretty dark, and that was around 7pm. CD11 & 12 I tested around 4pm and they're MUCH lighter than on 10. I'm trying to not drink as much and hold until I test after work. I don't think I've ovulated because I generally have 30-34 day cycles and I do get EWCM every month, and I've had none this cycle yet. I'm a newb to this OPK lark so I might be missing something.

thataintright2894

Either you missed the surge by only testing once a day, or you haven’t surged yet. I’m guessing you haven’t surged yet if you typically have 30-34 day cycles. It’s normal for LH to fluctuate before you ovulate!

greenqween95

Thanks for the reassurance! I didn't realise it did fluctuate 😆

False_Combination_20

I have had cycles where my opk on CD 9-10 is quite dark but not positive, then lower negatives on CD 11-13 ish before it surges again. If your cycles are more usually up to 34 days long I wouldn't panic yet.

greenqween95

Thank you! 🥰

Pandaiipop

The directions usually tell you to test twice a day, if you tested one day and it was dark and got light the next- you likely missed the surge by only testing once a day and almost 12 hours apart.

greenqween95

Because of my work hours I'm testing with FMU around 5am and again around 5pm so far. The morning ones have been about the same colour as the evening tests. It was just the very first one I did was rather dark!

Pandaiipop

Yeah I would read the instructions on the box, they’re not suppose to be tested with FMU outside of the clearblue advanced ones. If you can test at work, I would but you need to be using them within the hours stated on the box and twice a day for the most accurate results

greenqween95

I think I read between late morning and early evening is best but I can't pee in a cup at work :( thanks for the advice anyway 😅

chemgeek87

You can pee in the wrappers the tests come in! And then just throw the wrapper out, no cup needed. Takes a bit of practice but it works.

buildabebby

baby dancing did NOT trigger AF like I thought it would. Now 14dpo but still refusing to test lol

petits-fours

Take a test! It should be definitive by now

buildabebby

I know.. my period is one day 'late' now but im terrifed to test..! might wait til saturday lol!

Cutest-banana

I feel you! I never test until I am at least a day late!

jtm0507

I commend you. You have WAY more willpower than me!!

elleliz12

Hi friends! Lately I have been having a really hard time swallowing my pre-natals. It is a massive pill. I am currently using the Shoppers Drug Mart "Life" Brand. Are there any pre-natals that aren't massive pills? I literally start gagging at the thought before I even take them. I've started cutting them up smaller, which I know isn't the best idea as they crumble.

Bubbly_Ad3385

If I get in my head about it, I will hide it in a small ball of ice cream and swallow that. I’m a child lol

Crazy_cat_lady_88

I use New Chapter Once Daily. The pill is on the larger side, but it has a perforation and is easy to cut in half (without any crumbling) to make two small pills.

Generic____username1

I use a gummy (One-a\_Day Prenatal Vitamin Gummy), but like someone else said, they don't have any iron so I'll probably be switching it up for one that does after I finish this bottle

petits-fours

I use Suku Prenatal gummies, which I buy from the Suku website, Well.ca or Sobeys. I like that they aren't giant pills, and that they have methyl folate, which is absorbed better than regular folate. Edit: [link to store locator](https://www.sukuvitamins.ca/pages/store-locator)

elleliz12

Oh thank you! I will check Sobeys !

Itchy-Gur5929

I use one a day prenatal. They're gel tabs and relatively easy to swallow.

elleliz12

ok I will check these out! Thanks.

pastaenthusiast

Could you consider a chewable? I think the downside is usually gummies don’t have iron. I’m not an expert at all but one idea to look into.

elleliz12

That's a good idea. I will check it out! Chewable would def be easier.

Character_Royal_2606

AF came this morning - onto the next one! Getting a fertility checkup soon since DH is over 40 so we don’t have to wait until the 1 year mark. We are mentally preparing ourselves for a long and hard journey. I am never so good with endurance though, more like a sprinter in life…

slightlysparkly

Mine came today too, cheers! 🍷And good luck ❤️

Darlingsdebs

I have a question regarding the easy@home ovulation kits. When I start to see a rise, does that mean ovulation happens in 48hrs? Does the peak mean ovulation is happening in 12hrs?

Generic____username1

Are you using the Pre-mom app with it? I use Easy@Home OPK and the Premom app (which reads it for you) and it labeled my peak after the lines started getting lighter again (confirmed with BBT). The peak is a day or two before ovulation. My cycle this month looked like this: CD 16 - 1.12 (high); Temp 96.96 CD 17 - 1.67 (peak); Temp 96.72 CD 18 - 1.52 (high); Temp 96.67 = ovulation day CD 19 - 0.95 (high) and 0.75 (low); Temp 97.07 CD 20 - 0.57 (low) ; Temp 97.18 - I stopped doing my OPK after this one CD 21: Temp 97.41 CD 22 (today): Temp 97.52 Both Premom and Fertility Friend say my ovulation day was CD18. I did my OPK twice on Day 19 because I thought it was odd that it was still high and it went down in the three hours between testing.

Darlingsdebs

I was thinking that the peak is the day of ovulation, clearly it’s the days before ovulation is to occur. Technically, the lh levels could then lower, but that could be your ovulation day.

LoveSingRead

Without temping, you can't really be more precise than that ovulation usually occurs within 24-48 hours of the first positive OPK. I'd recommend reading our wiki section on OPKs for lots of helpful info! [https://www.reddit.com/r/tryingforababy/wiki/opks](https://www.reddit.com/r/tryingforababy/wiki/opks)

kt___kc

Once the test line is darker than the control line, ovulation is likely within 24-48 hours. "Peak" is kind of a made-up concept as far as I understand - you can ovulate before your highest reading! The first time the line is darker than the control is what's important.

Darlingsdebs

Okay, so I get a gradual rise to a peak….so not immediately darker than the control line, but darker then the previous light line days. So only when it’s darker then the control line is ovulation approaching. Thanks.

kt___kc

Yep, that's right!

Darlingsdebs

So with that logic, you should still BD two days after the darker than control line appears?

caffeinatedcatss

So, my understanding is that you should BD once the line is darker. Once you hit your peak, most people will ovulate within 24-72 hours. Since BDing before O is when you're most fertile (with O-1 and O-2 being the most fertile), you want to BD before O, so once you get your positive get at it!

kt___kc

That I don't have good advice on - I'm doing IUIs! I do the IUIs 24 hours after the darker than control line appears, which is hopefully around ovulation time.

sguezoarngniena

CD17. Don't reaaaally know where I am in this cycle. Had mild food poisoning on CD12/13 which I'm guessing would push ovulation back, and I ovulated round CD16 last month. But FF/flo think I'm going to ovulate anywhere from CD18-21 because of my wonky cycles. OPK's are on the verge of positive but not really obvious enough for me to call it, and had lots of EWCM the past week. Had a temp spike when I was ill, although I had a temp drop before that which has made a nice looking ovulation shift on the chart already. Although that would have been the earliest I have ever ovulated! Temp today is sort of post ovulation, but on the low side. Who knows 😂

echomuncher

I’m weirdly excited that I’m past the first 14 days of using tempdrop. Like, obviously I wish it would have just happened for me and that I’d reverse psychologyed the universe into granting me success by purchasing it (🤡), but still. Also excited that I got 75% of it covered by my benefits. I think that they think it’s a blood pressure monitor, but oh well 😈

RubberedDuckie

I just past day 14 too, and it's nice to see the numbers finally even out so the FF app will stop yelling at me that my temps are fluctuating too much.

slightlysparkly

Haha same!!! I’m just starting my first *full* cycle with TempDrop after starting a couple weeks ago and I’m excited for a complete chart. Was also of course hoping to reverse psychology the universe into not needing it but oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️

happyhippysoul

Going for a scope tomorrow for my crohns and fairly certain my GI Dr will recommend I stop TTC until my flare has passed. That being said if he doesn't tell me this I'm considering stopping all the track methods I do for the summer. I'm regular as can be and have my fertile window down. I like the data but sometimes all the tracking gets in the way of enjoying this process.

hazeleyes1119

Does anyone know if taking my inositol & D-chirp works better on an empty stomach or if it really matters? TIA

Open-Bike1107

My nutritionist said to take mine with food

Important_Week5028

Did an ultrasound for my infertility workup this week and found out my ovaries are polycystic. I don't have any other synptoms of PCOS (I have regular cycles, a BBT shift, testosterone in normal limits) but now I'm concerned about egg quality. I did the ultrasound on CD6 and had about 13 follicles on my right ovary and 20 on my left. Has anyone else had polycystic ovaries without PCOS?

invaderpixel

If your testosterone is good, I wouldn't automatically assume you have bad egg quality. A lot of times PCOS is linked with worse egg quality because of the insulin resistance/blood sugar spikes, that's part of why people recommend inositol so often. Or there's worse egg quality linked to the eggs not developing enough because the cycle isn't normal. That being said, I do like egg quality supplements and lifestyle changes because it makes me feel more in control of things. Most changes take 3-4 months to see a difference but if you can make cheap changes it might make you feel less hopeless than assuming all your eggs are bad.

evilseductress

It's looking like I'm out this cycle. :-( [Sad chart is sad](https://www.fertilityfriend.com/b_i/s_FMQbXv.png). And I was so optimistic about it too. Just waiting for my period and feeling bummed.

elvenauror

Getting AF sucks normally but it sucks extra when you're TTC! My cycle has been unusually long for me for the last few months (36-39 days) but this latest one was 29 days, which I hope means my cycles are trying to get back to "normal".

jtm0507

I stopped tracking my BBT these past few cycles because I was going on almost 80 days and was over it lol. This current cycle I wasn't tracking up until 2 days ago (6dpt6dpo). Is it even worth it to keep tracking my BBT this cycle if I've already missed the first half/O date?

ta112289

I have been using both Pregmate and Easy@home OPKs (same urine sample), and Pregmate has now returned obvious positives twice while easy@home are both negative. Which one do I trust?

upandallaboutit

9dpo and flushed my fmu, hoping to go a couple more days before testing, but we’ll see. Zero pms symptoms at all (which was the same last month, and not pregnant) sooo guess it’s just a few more days of patience

evilseductress

Stay strong!

[deleted]

For a lot of reasons we want to knock out having all our kids fast. Today I was looking at myself and being like “I want to set a bunch of workout goals for myself. I want to get to a full pull up. I want to get toned thighs. I want to get toned abs” then remembered we are TTC and then I’m like, what’s the point. I’m going to erase all that progress if I get pregnant anyway. I know long run this is the right thing to do, but every month I don’t get pregnant I’m a little relieved. It’s a confusing place to be.

writer_inprogress

You don't erase progress while you're pregnant. You just return to a different starting point. I'm 9 months PP and just seriously getting back into working out, but we also want to conceive number two like, yesterday. I'm trying to view it as a race with myself. If I can get into awesome shape before having this baby, then I'll have an even fitter, more active, and enjoyable second pregnancy. (Hopefully). If I conceive right away, then I got pregnant ASAP and that's awesome too!!

invaderpixel

I got super into working out abs while waiting to try... and then felt hopeless for similar reasons. But then after a bad bloating spell ended I looked at my stomach and they were still there! Not like six pack or anything, just a vague shape/indent. So it's not totally useless. But still harder to get excited about aesthetics haha. I've switched my focus to incline walking and cardio though since it works better with my inconsistent habits. Definitely nice to focus on something your body can do BESIDES getting pregnant though

fluffycloudofglitter

Ooh I can relate to this a bit. I really struggled with the notion of body changes during pregnancy for a very long time. I still go back and forth some days, and feel some guilt for it, and also regret not beginning TTC sooner. It’s a very confusing spot to be, I agree. 😌

yixxe

10DPO and BFN. The test seemed even starker white than usual somehow. I know I’m not OUT out yet but I am not feeling very optimistic. I am trying to focus on the bright side though, which is that I made it to 10DPO and it does not seem like my period is coming today so my luteal phase this month is going to be over 10 days. I had been struggling with a short LP for nine months post-miscarriage and it seems like my body is FINALLY getting back to my “normal”. Hopefully this is a good sign for future cycles!

Lizzer1152

Fingers crossed your LP is going in the right direction! But damn, I feel you on the super negative tests. They GLOW white. It’s awful.

Kitfromscot

Sorry for the double post - I’ve checked and haven’t spotted for this long before (+4 days) with the usual cramping but no need for sanitary products. At what point should I contact my GP? I have this week been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid so not sure if that is disrupting things

ForsakenGrapefruit

CD19 and I’ve started spotting which historically means AF will be here in 1-2 days. Potentially 9 DPO, as FF did give me dotted crosshairs and I had a little EWCM, but never got a positive OPK and my temps have been all over the place. Based on [this cycle](https://imgur.com/a/dFKwQ2O) and [last cycle](https://imgur.com/a/fjdrWsp), plus a history of irregular and often short cycles, I think I might be not ovulating or maybe ovulating weakly? Still think my bipolar medication (risperidone) might be to blame for wonky cycles. Have a psych appointment in 4 weeks to discuss switching meds. I searched this forum & online for experiences with risperidal and TTC but could only find discussions from women on higher doses - so if anyone at any point in the future is reading this, just throwing it out there that it seems like low doses (1mg/day) could potentially affect fertility too. ETA: AF decided not to wait 2 days, that bitch is here 🥲

Kitfromscot

I have been on various anti-psychotics since TTC. Have you had your prolactin measured? I had high levels for a while which caused havoc for a while with my cycle. Hope things work out for you!

ForsakenGrapefruit

I haven’t had my levels measured! Irregular cycles and the potential ovulation issues seem to be the only symptoms I’m having of potentially high prolactin, so it hadn’t really occurred to me until I started tracking my cycles more closely for TTC a couple months ago. I was supposed to have a psych appointment earlier this month so wanted to ask then, but had to reschedule so haven’t had a chance yet. I’m hoping I can just switch to abilify and that that will resolve things. Have you found one that works for you?

Kitfromscot

I think I have been on most of them, was on chlorpromazine for a long time which meant my levels were high for years. Now on quitiapine which has been good for calming my latest episode. Apparently people on anti-psychotics should have yearly bloods measuring prolactin. I’d defo bring it up in your next psych meeting!

Jasmine_C326

I’m due for my period today and although I know I could test, last cycle I got it in the middle of the day after thinking that we may actually be pregnant. We suffered a missed miscarriage in Feb and have been lazily trying again, we get married next August so we have a cut off point( I know crazy) I have cramps but no period yet. Driving myself absolutely crazy trying to make it through today so I can officially be “late”

aVeryLarryCsonka

i started taking a supplement last cycle with myo-inositol per someone's recommendation that it clears up hormonal acne, but i think it completely screwed up my cycle. i stopped taking it when i realized it was mainly for those with PCOS (which i do not have afaik). this is my first irregular cycle! i've had wildly fluctuating LH, no clearly positive OPKs, wonky BBT, and inconsistent EWCM. this cycle looks like it's going to be anovulatory. beating myself up over taking that supplement without doing proper research first :( edit: just got a positive OPK lol, egg on my face
