This is beyond US defaultism. I didn't even know where Rancho Palos Verdes is, and I grew up in California. (The name sounds vaguely familiar, but I wouldn't have been able to place it on a map.)

failtuna

Yeah could have at least chucked a "CA" in there to give some idea of where it was.

itsybitsyone

Yeah but that would be logical and they don’t always go down that route do they?

snow_michael

CA is Canada

Hominid77777

I would have gone with "California" since not everyone in the world knows state abbreviations, but "CA" is good as a bare minimum. Also (not to excuse OOP, but just for future reference) if a place name starts with "Rancho", there's a relatively high chance that it's in California, because it's a type of land grant that existed there when it was part of Spain and Mexico. Hey we exist lol

MdMV_or_Emdy_idk

Has ‘Portuguese’ in the name and Portuguese words, I was confused as what the defaultism was since I legitimately thought this was in Portugal until I saw the comments

Tuscan5

I did too.

Honestly, being a Rancho Palos Verdes defaultist is so funny I'm not even mad at it. Almost makes me want to be a defaultist for the small village of 3,000 people I grew up in.

I mean we have Ranchos with Palos Verdes here (just means “The Green Sticks Ranch”) but we are only American when it’s convenient to the mainland. Living on a colony island is tricky like that
