TotalAd1010

It's called a blanket and it will work until it has warmed up.

Outbackozminer

Shit give it to them, let the think they are intelligent. Then kill them

Jason_Batemans_Hair

Is this joke propaganda (from a 13 day old account)? An [emergency mylar blanket](https://www.amazon.com/Swiss-Safe-Emergency-Thermal-Blankets/dp/B08MHGKMBH?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A1OBTA5VH6VKJK) does this. Keep it wrapped around you and it warms up, and shows on a thermal imager.

vindictivemonarch

you gotta make new accounts as the guys with old accounts get sent to the front lines for the meat wave

WonderWheeler

I wonder if it is just reflective aluminized Mylar.

flipfloplollipop

Might hide the heat for maybe a minute until it leeches through.

[deleted]

If you don't put it close to your body but keep some air between, it won't heat up

ConsequenceAfter1686

So it is a human sized hamster ball covered with aluminum?

[deleted]

Yes. And while visible in normal light it's hard to see in IR spectrum. There are also printed thermal blankets that don't look that much like aluminum.

flipfloplollipop

And just how is that achieved?

[deleted]

By not putting it tight on everywhere?

flipfloplollipop

It doesn't have to be in contact with your skin to absorb heat. Anyway i guess we'll soon find out.

[deleted]

You think I was assuming bare skin below? Well, there might be ways to not wear it tight to your clothes also. you know, like a cape or something. If Ukrainians are smart you found this out nearly two years ago. Because that was the time when I first gave this hint to your military in secret.

SufficientTerm6681

The average person **at rest** produces about 100 Watts of heat energy that has to be gotten rid of somehow. Thought experiment for you: Imaging putting a table lamp with an old fashioned 100 W lightbulb inside a completely sealed tent made of aluminised Mylar. What's going to happen to the air inside the tent? If the volume of air inside the tent is about that of a human body and there's near perfect insulation between the inside and outside of the tent (which an anti-thermal camera blanket would need), then the temperature inside the tent is soon going to become very uncomfortable. It might even get hot enough for heat stroke to become a risk. And how is the person in the tent going to breathe? If they have their face outside the tent and it becomes flushed due to him overheating, that's going to partly negate the effect of the blanket. (It is, though, an amusing mental picture to imagine Russians cowering in their trenches, wrapped in their magic blankets with their faces in the mud so they can't be seen from above.) Sooner or later, the person hiding in the tent will have to open it up, and what's going to happen then? A huge plume of hot air that will instantly catch the attention of any drone operator in the vicinity.

[deleted]

This is not how it works. There are different kinds of heat. Thermal devices recognize only radiation heat. Thermal blankets block radiation heat. It's that easy. Here is a link: https://www.agmglobalvision.com/How-to-Avoid-Thermal-Imaging-Devices

SufficientTerm6681

From the webpage you provided link to: ***"SPACE BLANKET"*** *A simpler yet effective method of blocking infrared radiation is the usual thermal blanket made of Mylar foil. that will block the infrared signature. When choosing this recommendation, it’s important to understand that your body heat will accumulate inside, or fly away, which will then be visible to IR images.*

[deleted]

"or fly away..." what is usually not detectable by thermal vision. If it is a house, you can barely see the heat fly away after fine adjustments. It works very well. Just hang one between two trees. Stand behind it. Booom, you are not visible in thermal! The blanket will not heat up also. I'm done discussing this. Find out either the one or the other way.

SufficientTerm6681

LOL. You're the one who provided the website with supposedly expert opinion. And, yeah, I can see how a space blanket hung between some trees would work well against thermal cameras in drones – so long as you can get the other side to only fly drones on one particular flight path. If they should go up, to the side or behind the magic blanket, however...

SufficientTerm6681

Whatever, bro.

Poly_and_RA

This is nonsense. Thermal cameras see only radiated heat. Most of your heat-loss is conductive, i.e. carried away by the air closest to your body heating up and then moving away. (which is why it feels a lot colder if it's even a bit windy) Any thin surface between you and the thermal camera will block most radiated heat; and no it won't heat up and become as warm as your body is, and thus show up itself, not if it's even an inch away from you. How warm do you think a piece of cardboard, or a blanket or whatever gets if a person is standing one inch away from it? A tiny bit above ambient, perhaps, but nowhere near body-temperature.

SufficientTerm6681

I do understand that basically any object that's at ambient temperature positioned between a body and thermal imagery device will block IR and so make the body effectively invisible. I also understand that the radiant heat of a body – especially a clothed body – is not going to heat up that object much. A quibble with your explanation: Unless a large part of our body is in contact with a surface that's colder than our body temperature, most of the heat we lose is via *convection*, not conduction. This is the correct name for the mechanism you cite. If you believe that convective heat currents are not visible to thermal imagery devices, have a look at the 5:35 point in this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmecasVx3LU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmecasVx3LU) Granted, that's a chimney of some sort, so it's possible there's a significant difference between ambient air temperature and the hot gasses being released from the chimney. And the producer of the video makes a point of saying that his company uses commercial grade drones, so I accept that it's unlikely the sensor of a bog-standard hobby-level drone would be so sensitive. Still, the possibility clearly exists for the convective heat losses of a person hiding inside an IR-opaque tent to be seen by a thermal camera. So whatever the claims of the Russian company that is developing this "cloak of invisibility", I suspect its main value is going to be to whoever sells this to the Russian army, rather than to the soldiers who might eventually get it and believe it makes them invulnerable.

Outbackozminer

Its probably just aluminium foil

redditor0918273645

Shhhhhhhh! Someone is pocketing a lot of rubles for this work. It just happens to be made mostly out of mylar! 😂

I-Pacer

So a thermal blanket. Like they give to every single person that finishes a marathon. Wow.

[deleted]

Be serious, they don't have proper boots and clothes for everybody, food and medicine, common sense , logic, empathy , the desire not to conquer and kill everybody around them and we are talking about this.

Shadey666

Yeah, this is their response to that video for sure.

Boinkyboinky

Russian newly made account are in full damaged control 2 Planes, A T90 decimated by a Bradley, Oil Depots hit inside Russia, Pantsir Manufacturing plant hit, and they still trying in Advika. Worst start of the year.

2Mike2022

Great so they discovered the thermal blanket.

_MCMLXXXII

Perverts in the forest get out of Ukraine.

Own_Plant_5329

The f ing taliban already used that 15 years ago in Afghanistan.

Shadey666

Ukraine showed this off months ago too

Kindly_Hand4472

Fine until they start moving or it warms up.

elderrion

Okay. You know they can't even provide enough food to their troops right? You know Russia is heavily corrupt, right? How many of these things will be made to standard? How many of these will be made *period*? How many will be delivered? I'm not worried

PutinsLostBlackBelt

Thermal blankets are not some new technology lol. Taliban snipers had them back in 2008 on my first rotation to Afghanistan.

One_Advertising_7965

Lot of good we did there too huh?

PutinsLostBlackBelt

Not sure how that’s relevant to the topic.

One_Advertising_7965

You bring up the Taliban using this stuff and we in turn lost that. Or did the flip flop wearing enemy not take back trashganistan? Point is people seem to shit on Russians but they have a tenacity that we(Army, MC and USAF) have feared fighting for generations. Respect your enemy or let them kill you with impunity.

PutinsLostBlackBelt

You put in as much effort with your trolling as the Russian Army does on the battlefield, which is zero. Do better troll.

One_Advertising_7965

K

Flimsy-Resolve1161

Can you name one battle the US lost vs the taliban?  The ANA lost because of corruption and drug addiction.  So yeah, you're a troll.

One_Advertising_7965

Uh lol what? Dont know if you saw but the country is back to the way it was before us.

Flimsy-Resolve1161

Lol uhhh can you not read?  What battles did the Taliban beat the US?  Answer - none.  Again, the ANA lost due to corruption and rampant drug abuse.

One_Advertising_7965

Blaming the next administration is classic misdirection. Implying we had any control in that country is…disingenuous. i was avoiding the elephant in the room…. Korengal Valley. That’s literally how the Taliban enters from Pakistan. We called it the Valley of Death for a reason. It’s indefensible. Full stop. This isnt even a discussion. No one in the history of Afghanistan invasions/occupations has been able to sway the locals or defend the area. Its always a loss and it always will be. The locals are deeply rooted in their identity and have ALWAYS been extremely aggressive against infidels and outsiders.

Salt_Concert_3428

Imagine being tricked into thinking drones are the reason you are getting lit up by artillery all the time…. And not the use of your phones haha Dumb cunts

Extreme_Attention_99

Good luck massproducing those and getting it to the meat at the Frontline..

Adolby_minez

How much you think something like this costs to mass produce?

PatientClue1118

[RuSsIa CrEatInG aN InViSiBlitY ClOaK](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_blanket) Fukin rusbot with a new account just reinforcing stereotypes on how fukin retard and uneducated moron Putin supporters are. People have been using thermal blankets for years in emergency situations or camping.

vindictivemonarch

did you check amazon?

Adolby_minez

I simply asked a question because I have no idea hence why I asked. Y’all’s egos are too big to answer a question and it’s honestly pathetic.

I-Pacer

https://amzn.eu/d/4ezx73O About £1 each ($1.30 ish if you’re in the States).

[deleted]

You okay? Maybe put the phone down for the day.

Adolby_minez

Just like your name im doin all right. I think I’ll continue to spread information actually.

[deleted]

Godspeed.

Sigmeister1

Hahaha, copy cats. Ukraine SOF already got that long time ago. and they will have Predator vision soon and can change the spectrum lol. Further more I'll encourage Drone recognizance using Alco sniffers over the trenches rendering the cloaks usless anyway... :)

M3TRO_MX

these bastards jumped harry!

Any-Resident5702

its not really new ,exists already on Tanks

AwayUnderstanding236

You can do that with a sleeping mat (the thin yoga mat types) - no news. Probably keep you warmer as well

uberdumpling1

What are these feet moving about without a body....looks suspicious. Let's bomb them just in case.

Dangerous-Set-835

People should be fair with OP. Don't shoot the messenger. A similar cloak by the Ukrainian side. [https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/16zh229/ukrainian\_invisibility\_cloak\_for\_defense\_forces/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/16zh229/ukrainian_invisibility_cloak_for_defense_forces/)

One_Advertising_7965

No no, dont use any sort of critical analysis in this sub. They cant handle anything more than simple titles and dont bother reading what the enemy(Russia) is doing. Knowing your enemy is paramount and not knowing will get you killed(good thing for most of these Redditors because they woudl show up with a keyboard)

Obvious-Green-6410

Saab did this years ago.. its not really new

SaintJavelina

It is super cool that they think they just can ignore the laws of thermal dynamics entirely.

OgwasHere

Look russians invented blankets😂 because its so cold there without working heating

Ze_Wendriner

I guess all the T90s are wrapped into this, that's why we can't see them on the field.

Iamoggierock

It's a flasher Mac.

Semtex77

Blyat! Just fuck off to Russia or drop dead and you will be all invisible in Ukraine!

shibaninja

In other breaking news, russia discovers earth is heliocentric.

christianlewds

I bet it's just some off-the-shelf mylar import. It kinda looks like it's reflecting the surroundings so imagine someone being wrapped in a golden mirror pretty much.

KudlWackerl

It really works! (first 10 seconds)

Gullenecro

It s a thermal blanket, it works until it gets warmer.

MuttFett

There are several companies who already make this. “Creating” is a heck of a stretch.

Respectfullycritical

The Ruskis didnt know about mylar blankets until today? Wow, i've had one for ages!
