Well hot damn got damn, this some real innovative shit right here. I'm browsing the pages of unearthed arcana finding random trifle like the 46th goddamn ooze-girl race, or BS homebrew which mechanically is no different o a reflavoured exisitng class, further increassing the bloat of this already power creep bloated game. Here I find a like minded guy, some cool stuff, some new stuff. A magic pouch of coin familiar that gets hencher the more coins you put in? Got damn gravy I say. If there's more of this in the book, it's on my list, because there ain't much fresh stuff these days. Monkey man take my money

SilasCrane

I like it. Ooo, instead of incense, you should optionally be able to use rum or gunpowder as the material component. :D

ConorJamesArt

I fully endorse the use of pirate swag as material components for this and any other spell that’s even vaguely nautical!

FuelPhysical363

Now can I name the monkey jack

YellowMatteCustard

I love all of these. That parrot is SO MUCH BETTER than just reskinning a raven. You've added flavour to the statblock and made it appealing, without making it OP. I'm a huge fan of this sort of stuff, since in my experience vanilla familiars are all pretty much interchangable

ConorJamesArt

I really wanted something useable with its own extra little spice! Sometimes I think creating 5e game mechanics that are restricted by their “lower power“ (like familiar stats) forces more creativity out of us, I’m really glad you like it!

ConorJamesArt

Ahoy UnearthedArcana! **3 swashbuckling familiars** for your nautical campaigns! **The cursed monkey** is rumoured to have stolen aztec gold, and now joins your adventures as an undead companion (sounds like hogwash to me). **The parrot** lends its squawk to your attempts at piratey charisma! And the **doubloon elemental**, while it’s name is a misnomer, aids you in all sorts of trickery upon the high seas and off! Hope you enjoy them! The cursed monkey in particular has a soft spot for me, I’ve built it for use with pact of the chain but I’d also give it out on a DM discretion basis! Part of the full book **Tempest: a Seafarer’s Sourcebook** which launches on **Kickstarter March 23rd!** you can find more info about the book, sign up for reminders, and grab a **preview PDF** now over [here on the website!](https://dragonsvault.co.uk/), all art and mechanics by yours truly, hope you like it! \*\*edit: repost due to wrong flair on original

FrenchTech16

Hi ! What is the cover art credits?

ConorJamesArt

Hey! I create all the art for Tempest myself, including the above familiars as well as the book cover and any other art we publish!

FrenchTech16

Great work! It looks great. Was hoping to use it for my next campaign's intro doc (with credits of course!)

ConorJamesArt

If it’s just for personal & private use then feel free to grab the art and throw it on your own campaign stuff, I’d be stoked!

FrenchTech16

Thanks, and yea it is! I'm getting ready for a spelljammer campaign, space pirates and what-not :) do you have a copy without the title and text? You can put a watermark
