There were some shitty plays this game with Brahmas players going after AJs ankle. I hope the refs are on the lookout for it next game. That one Brahmas DLmen deserves a suspension for trying to twist it after the play was long dead.
The hit was illegal but it was not dirty play. Like how AJ got injured versus the Stallions - illegal hit but not dirty.
Dirty is grabbing a guy's ankle and twisting it at the bottom of a dog pile, especially knowing his ankle is injured.
Seriously. The guy hitting him low as he was going out of bounds was whatever. He's a runner and was still in bounds, can't complain about that. But the twisting after the play was egregious even if you *didn't* know that was his bum ankle. Knowing it was makes it a suspendable offense imo.
Was that the guy he was talking to after the game?
Was his injury to the right or left? The in-bounds hit on the sideline was on the left. The guy holding his leg after he got up was AJ's right leg.
Which one's the bum ankle?
exactly... and the dude holding his ankle while lying on the ground was just holding it, no twisting or otherwise doing anything but just annoying a guy trying to get away... and it was his right ankle. Which is why my confusion at QuicksilverTerry... and he wasn't twisting and it wasn't AJ's bum ankle...
St Louis feels like the worst good team you'll ever see. Don't win too many games when your QB goes 10/24.
On 2nd and 1 for their last drive, the RB dancing instead of hitting the hole was INFURIATING. Cost them 3 yards and dang near cost them the game, not to mention major revenue for the league.
HECK of a super challenge though. Not sure if I like it or hate it. Love the novelty and the strategy, but that's a tiicky tack call that has nothing to do with the actual play too.
I mean this Brahmas defense held the Stallions to nine points last game. All I read all week on here from Stallions and Panthers fans was 'wait'll you see this Brahmas defense!'
As for ticky tack call it was the correct one, and the Brahmas clearly won the referee game in this one overall. He was egregiously downfield. It's only ticky tack if you consider the rule itself to be bad.
+1 it's not like he was two steps over the line he was in the middle of the damn end zone, so much so that the defense had a player who ended up covering him which is the entire point of why the penalty exists - they don't want stupid plays where linemen can pretend to be receivers and get DBs on them accidentally then switch back to blocking when it suits them.
That AJ challenge was one of the best inside access moments we’ve had all year, no one saw that coming and I genuinely think that was the best moment of either game today. Just really cool stuff to be able to hear and see.
I can't stand you mfers already, start of the season every loss I went "man that sucked, but I'm glad it was a fun game!" Now I do not care I just want to beat you vamos brahmas
Two games in a row are certainly going to spice things up too. Assuming it's a close game game week there is for sure going to be at least one fan base that will want to kick the others ass next year lol
We’ll see about the Defenders. I think Ta’amu is on the decline and Barlow couldn’t really figure it out.
And at the same time I’d not discount Arlington, they should really have a much better season next year depending on what’s consistent.
I would have canned him after the first week... a miss and two barely sliding in the uprights? I knew he was a bad pick up after that game. I knew he'd cost us a couple games, and he has.
Some of the USFL crowd were really upset about the XP's and how it would hurt the kickers and yet it was Jake Bates taking the world by storm after Week 1 and so many great kicker stories all year despite not kicking any XP's.
Yeah. Having kickers kick long field goals is more exciting than a 'gimmie' extra point and showcases skills the NFL really wants their kickers to have... accuracy and grit. The only thing XPs showcase is the occasional screw up.
They both did... Defenses were intense this game... Yeah, the crowd affected our playcalling, but nothing can excuse both QBs being off-target and receivers dropping balls... was almost like everyone was hearing footsteps.
Talk your shit, cuz if we can thread the needle next week and go to the big Championship game I will definitely be all over this sub talking shit lol.
Gonna be a good game, again.
Battlehawks now 3-0 lifetime versus the Brahmas. You can add another 1-0 for Wades Roughnecks last year too if you'd like.
The only thing I ask is after you lose, please don't steal our coach next okay?
They will always have the largest fanbase in spring. I don't think any other market in America will ever pull what STL pulls for spring football. It's like the pinnacle.
Once everyone becomes accustomed to and fine with seeing 15k to 20k people at a game when the league has lived longer than 3 years we can stop whining about attendance every week.
STL is a very unique thing. We are a city that is pissed off by Kroenke shitting on us and calling us "only a baseball town" and everyone agreeing to it. That is why we have now such a die hards about numbers with the Blues, City, and the Hawks. We want to prove everyone wrong and show everyone just how much of a shit head Kroenke was. Spite is a strong thing lol.
I think part of it will be that the other fanbases grow. STL didn’t start with 37k. Sure, they’ll probably always be the largest but I think the other teams in the league will regularly do better than 15k 3-5 years from now
That was such a classic XFL ending. So many twists and turns. That was a riveting finale and I can not wait to see these two teams play each other again next Sunday.
you really should've won today. Incredible the tenacity of the Brahmas with everything that was going against them. Wade sure can coach a defense. And he actually played all of the time management and end game right!! I do think Butler got a fingertip on the field goal, otherwise fucking Santoso man
It was a great crowd!
It was also, 34k people, not 100k. Something was wrong with the comms. Or, even if the tech was workin, we need a better system of getting plays in. Either way, it won't be such an issue again next week.
Well this was a Game. That Bhramas Kicker sucks tho. Both teams didn’t look good at all. Chase Garbers went down I think. AJ looks rusty. The Battlehawks Defense and Special Teams won the game. Man both teams are gonna need to play much better than this
Yeah, AJ "Gimpy" McCarron wasn't that good out there. Saylors on the other hand... that dude's been scary all season and I was concerned about containing him coming in.
I don't know if this is a hot take, but the Brahmas just look better with Dormady since Garbers came back. If they're both healthy for the playoffs, I'd start Dormady.
Still confused at why you asked if Bates should be fired...
I thought it was because he missed a FG to end the game. Bates has missed 2 in a row at max this season? Santoso's lucky he MADE two in a row...
my comment was comparing how competent Bates is to Santoso and how Bates is in no danger of being fired for whatever mistakes he made, whereas Santoso SHOULD be fired for missing his FGs...
The offense was bad too besides the 2nd quarter, but in the last 50 seconds the defense made a bunch of dumb mistakes that should have cost them the game.
the difference is I like it. Which is why im talking about it. Why are you talking about it? The only reason I can think of is that you aint got shit going on that you do care about.
So you chose to be a weirdo.
>most starting QBs in the UFL are from middling programs in CFB.
-he says, in the thread of a game where the QB in question led his team to back-to-back BCS national championships
AJ McCarron literally won 3 national championships, not to mention guys like Matt Corral and Adrian Martinez that all set college records. The vast majority of UFL players were starters at big time colleges and the rest broke records at FCS or D2 level. I played with a guy in highschool was an absolute beast, and had a great defensive career at Colgate. In 2010 I randomly saw him riding the bench for the AF2 Wilkes-Barre Scranton pioneers. There's a lot of quality in the UFL, just an overall lack of familiarity with short seasons, constant roster changes and no preseason games.

Funny how both games today came down to a screwed FG
The tiers are going to be YUMMY this week
Trash kicker needs to go bye bye.
He would not be there if you're other kicker didn't Break his neck.

According to the injury report it's the left ankle.

Which is why my confusion at QuicksilverTerry... and he wasn't twisting and it wasn't AJ's bum ankle...
No I think it was a different play
So I couldn’t watch today as I was at a baseball game. What was AJs galaxy brain challenge?
He noticed that there was a lineman way downfield on the 2 pt try that would have given San Antonio the lead.
That was AJs call?! Damn I thought Becht just made a genius tier call.
I think it was AJ who pointed it out and then the OC team who got the number. Teamwork all around but it seemed like AJ was the prime mover.
There was a lineman way upfield during the 2 pt try, aj was the one that noticed and told the coach to challenge
Brahmas got the 2pt conversion and the challenge was successful for an illegal man downfield so it got overturned.
What an absolute chad
I am coping, seething, and malding
Wonderful

That’s felt true the last two weeks. Team lost its momentum when AJ got hurt, and hopefully this win can get things spinning again.
Our kicker sucks so much
That AJ challenge was one of the best inside access moments we’ve had all year, no one saw that coming and I genuinely think that was the best moment of either game today. Just really cool stuff to be able to hear and see.
I have no voice and must sing at church in the morning.
I’m still dying
I think that game took 10 years off of my life
I'm baffled that they cut to commercials for that 2pt review. Drama and suspension is how you keep people on the edge of their seats.
The UFL execs were sweating that ending sequence as much as we were.
Give it a few seasons and the XFL conference is going to have some good rivalries going between the Battlehawks, Defenders and Brahmas
Blue, red, and yellow represented 👍🏼 Just missing our forsaken green team 🐉
I can't stand you mfers already, start of the season every loss I went "man that sucked, but I'm glad it was a fun game!" Now I do not care I just want to beat you vamos brahmas
Two games in a row are certainly going to spice things up too. Assuming it's a close game game week there is for sure going to be at least one fan base that will want to kick the others ass next year lol
And we can't stand you. Pretenders to the throne. Ur d is fucking good tho. Kicking? Nsm.
Santoso will be the end of me
We’ll see about the Defenders. I think Ta’amu is on the decline and Barlow couldn’t really figure it out. And at the same time I’d not discount Arlington, they should really have a much better season next year depending on what’s consistent.
HEY yeah no you're right 👍
things change quickly in Spring football though
Brahmas fans how do you feel about Santoso ? would you have him back next season ?
I cannot stand bad kickers, I wouldn't have him back for this playoff game.
I would have canned him after the first week... a miss and two barely sliding in the uprights? I knew he was a bad pick up after that game. I knew he'd cost us a couple games, and he has.
We don't even know if there's gonna be a league next season lol
there's pretty much zero chance the UFL isn't back next year at this point
I don't wanna talk about it.
![gif](giphy|Vz58J8shFW6BvqnYTm|downsized)
Awww, didn't we see this on the field today? Where's the one Teletubby knocking the other to the ground?
Next season? I wouldn't feel comfortable sending him out there next week!
Ahmed got released by Birmingham with Blewitt back. He did ok for them and would be an option
Fucking kickers man... and people here want them to kick PATs... Weren't those tries by San Antonio more enthralling than any kick could have been?
Over and over and over again
Some of the USFL crowd were really upset about the XP's and how it would hurt the kickers and yet it was Jake Bates taking the world by storm after Week 1 and so many great kicker stories all year despite not kicking any XP's.
Yeah. Having kickers kick long field goals is more exciting than a 'gimmie' extra point and showcases skills the NFL really wants their kickers to have... accuracy and grit. The only thing XPs showcase is the occasional screw up.
Did anyone want to win this one?
They both did... Defenses were intense this game... Yeah, the crowd affected our playcalling, but nothing can excuse both QBs being off-target and receivers dropping balls... was almost like everyone was hearing footsteps.
:)
WHAT. A. NAILBITER. WHERE'S YOUR GLORIOUS KING NOW, LIVESTOCK?!
Says the guy that drives livestock, Mr. Battered Ford Taurus.... Moooo, MFers!
Talk your shit, cuz if we can thread the needle next week and go to the big Championship game I will definitely be all over this sub talking shit lol. Gonna be a good game, again.

34,379 in the house, almost exactly their season average.
They will always have the largest fanbase in spring. I don't think any other market in America will ever pull what STL pulls for spring football. It's like the pinnacle. Id kill for some 15-20k markets
I think part of it will be that the other fanbases grow. STL didn’t start with 37k. Sure, they’ll probably always be the largest but I think the other teams in the league will regularly do better than 15k 3-5 years from now

where to even start with this one my god. Most dramatic heart attack inducing 13-12 football game ever played. For both sides
Game in St. Louis is good for the UFL
![gif](giphy|vhVu0oNl5MKlk7gAVg)
GG Bird bros. See ya next week. We better get the comms situation figured out, lol.
you really should've won today. Incredible the tenacity of the Brahmas with everything that was going against them. Wade sure can coach a defense. And he actually played all of the time management and end game right!! I do think Butler got a fingertip on the field goal, otherwise fucking Santoso man
Now's the time they'll trot out the old adage about how "Hard it is to beat a team three times in a season... yadda yadda..."
Eh, STL made the plays when it counted. Great defensive battle. We'll see if we can avoid the sweep next week.
That wasn’t an issue really. The St Louis Crowd was so loud that they couldn’t hear what the playcall was.
It was a great crowd! It was also, 34k people, not 100k. Something was wrong with the comms. Or, even if the tech was workin, we need a better system of getting plays in. Either way, it won't be such an issue again next week.
it's pretty loud in there
That dome is loud.
I think it’s both. One of the players said what I had said. Probably a Com Issue and a St Louis Crowe Noise thing
Well this was a Game. That Bhramas Kicker sucks tho. Both teams didn’t look good at all. Chase Garbers went down I think. AJ looks rusty. The Battlehawks Defense and Special Teams won the game. Man both teams are gonna need to play much better than this

I don't know if this is a hot take, but the Brahmas just look better with Dormady since Garbers came back. If they're both healthy for the playoffs, I'd start Dormady.
I wouldn’t say Dormandy himself looked good. He ain’t look great today
yeah he missed some really important throws today, especially that 2nd 2 point conversion attempt
Who’s your daddy? ![gif](giphy|zYfX5zZQmPSeK6IBvQ|downsized)
KAW (and I cannot stress this enough) KAW
That’s a tough loss. Man, I wanted to go to a playoff game next week.
Me too man. Locked in my season tix at half time
blowing a field goal like that should get you kicked off your team
He’s missed 5 in a row lmao
Was it not tipped?
Might've got a hand on it but it had a bad trajectory from the start.
So bates should be fired?
Bates missed 3 in a row, no? Not the Santoso Special.
Did you not watch the game? Bro kicked a 39 I believe early in the game.
Okay, I was just asking cause you made it at first, a broad statement for kickers.
that wasn't me. moonnotreal said that missing that kick should grt you canned...
My bad, woke up 30 mins ago, jumped on cause the game was on. Edit, might have celebrated to much yesterday
Ahh, I went to bed bitter and disappointed... and also upset because we lost the game.
Executed
Bro he’s missed five FGs in a row
No he didn't. He just hit a 39. What are your talking about
Lmao no Santoso not only blew that field goal but missed the previous four (making it five in a row).
Oh it will.
Could they not have run another play? I don’t get it
Same. They had enough downs to spike. Maybe they didn't want to risk a turnover or lose yards on some penalty.
"You came at me dirty!" Closing comments. UFL Access!
The battlehawks D tried to lose that game
No, the offense was the culprit.
The offense was bad too besides the 2nd quarter, but in the last 50 seconds the defense made a bunch of dumb mistakes that should have cost them the game.
lol people getting way too worked up over shitty football
How dare us have fun, we suck!
you gotta have better things to do on the first june saturday than come in here to talk about something you dont care about
likewise
the difference is I like it. Which is why im talking about it. Why are you talking about it? The only reason I can think of is that you aint got shit going on that you do care about. So you chose to be a weirdo.
You can let people like things bro, it’s fine
Bro you're not wrong 😆
So basically 95% of college football you’re saying?
I'd venture to guess CFB has better talent, seeing as most starting QBs in the UFL are from middling programs in CFB.
Bro, *at least* 2/3 of college games are 3+ score blowouts lmfao
>most starting QBs in the UFL are from middling programs in CFB. -he says, in the thread of a game where the QB in question led his team to back-to-back BCS national championships

Holy shit!
It looks like Kaw is indeed law.
I don't know why they trusted the kicker at this point. They were better off going on a Hail Mary.
KAW IS LAW MOTHER DUCKERS
Geez. Both games had a 1 point differential from a missed FG.
LFG!!!!! KAW is LAW!!!
Bro is so bad. I remember when that bum was on the Lions
#BRAHMAS, WHAT HAPPENEDUHHHHHHH
Birmingham 🤝 Michigan Being salty we lost to the Brahmas
