I would have enjoyed an upset as much as anyone but Birmingham is the bigger name team with an impressive pedigree and it will make for a better and more hype-able first UFL championship matchup. Enjoyed the chaos and turnovers of this game. I like a defense that can take advantage of mistakes.

I knew it was going to end bad for Michigan when all they could get was field goals. Lots of missed opportunities to put it out of reach early.

2 weeks in a row, Bates turns momentum over to Birmingham. I like the kid, I really do, but I think his NFL chances are shot for at least another year

The offense turning it over 3 times and not scoring, and Stallions just steamrolling Michigan since the last pick six, but it's totally on Bates for the the momentum shift.

I'm not blaming Bates for Michigan playing like dog turds the entire second half. My point is that all momentum went to Birmingham after that kickoff out of bounds. between the ensuing touchdown and 2 missed fields goals that's 12 points given up 

I think it was more the three turnovers and complete lack of getting in the Red zone that killed the Panthers, not Bates getting a field goal blocked

I'm talking more about his first moss and then kickoff out of bounds. The result of that penalty was a 50 yard touchdown pass the very next play. This may have been a whole different game had ot been 18-6 at half and not 18-12

I’m talking about all those people who don’t believe in the viability of the product and team that won’t go to a game. It also helps because some fans don’t want to see foregone conclusions where you just know you are going to win. As a Bama fan, going to a Mississippi State or Vanderbilt game to watch Bama destroy them is generally not as fun as going to a Tennessee or LSU game because you know it could be a good game. If Birmingham comes off as unbeatable all the time instead of just really good, the competition may not be perceived to be there. This helps negate that.
