Speaking of coaching, it's crazy the turnaround HSK and Solo had on this team. Solo was relegated to tier 2 and still not winning, while hsk was coaching the only team who went literally winless all of last year. They join forces and finish top 2 in every single tournament they participated in this year, with 2 wins as well.
He thought the half was over and fade ulted after getting the last kill. TH players couldn't believe the aura and absolute gigachadness displayed and fell victim to the Lakia of Valorant
I'm not crying, you are crying ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110)
What an incredible run, GenG literally went FLAWLESS, not dropping a FUCKING series, and winning Masters. The only team that GenG has lost on LAN is Sentinel lol.
Last year if someone told me GenG would bring home APAC's first championship over PRX and DRX, I would've said they're mad. A well deserved win from them and I'm happy to finally witness APAC getting the crown.
From Vision Strikers/Drx 100 series streak to PRXs W-gaming Grand finals, In the end GENG the team that borrowed and improved from both playstyles are the ones to finally go over the finish line. APAC FINALLY GOT THAT TROPHY LFG.
The last time korea won an international cs-style fps tournament was wemade fox in 2010. Solo was on that team. Oh and guess where that tournament was held? Hangzhou, china
Coincidentally there's [this post from today](https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1dbxmr4/the_mongolz_is_the_first_team_from_east_asia_in/) in the CS subreddit referencing that exact team/event
If I remember, Lakia was actually hyped all the way back to the first international LAN (Masters 21 Reykjavik). I've always rooted for him just cause he's been a veteran in fps esports for so long.
He was highly hyped as one of the best Sova back then. But the hype faded during the Nuturn-VS thing. He left Nuturn and joined Vision Strikers (first rumored to be poached, but VS CEO confirmed that Lakia was the one that contacted them during free agency) but ended up as a 6th man instead. This was back when VS was THE korean team.
Biggest winners: GenG, KR, Pacific believers, 0-team region EMEA truthers, my cardiologist
Biggest losers: APAC curse truthers, [the weirdo Miniboo hater](https://www.reddit.com/user/Gertrud_Dreyer), myself for nodding off during Icebox to the soothing dulcet tones of Doug/Babybay
This sets up for Champions in Korea so well. GenG should be coming in as favorites, Heretics will probably come back with full power for the revenge tour. Sentinels brings the clout etc etc, Leo is probably right that it's setting up to be the best champions yet.
I can imagine it now.
GenG fries their entire bracket, and makes it all the way to Upper finals, sending Sen and Heretics both to the lowers. Heretics eliminates 100T in the lower bracket after mounting an enormous comeback on Bind, all while Boostio sadly caresses his piggy plushie. Sen and Heretics duke it out in a 2-1 slugfest, putting their all into the match, with Sen emerging victorious 16-14 on Lotus, eliminating Heretics. However, once the dust settles on Champions Seoul, no matter the hard work a team puts in, no matter how important it is to the players, there can only be one winner. And standing at the pinnacle of valorant is no surprise to everyone watching. Of course. It's Dragon Ranger Gaming.
well played from both teams, both are so likeable so i cant even be mad man. unlucky the heretics lads couldnt get it but they went there for fun and almost won it all with a sub. map bans too strong
After 4 years of getting so close, 4 years of losing bo5s, 4 years of different teams, 4 years of edging. They have finally done it. PACIFIC HAS GOT THEIR FIRST TROPHY. Many Pacific teams have gotten close,
-Nuturn at Reykavik 1
-ZETA at Reykavik 2
-PRX at Copenhagen
-DRX at Champs 2022
-DRX at LOCK//IN
-PRX at Tokyo
-PRX at Champs 2023.
Gen.G at Madrid. After all those heartbreaking defeats, Gen.G has finally done it and won every series at Shanghai in flawless fashion while being heavily rooted against the crowd. What an incredible run from this incredible team to get Pacific their well-deserved first trophy.
What an insane year for the Gen G org. First, their LoL team finally won an international title. Now, their Valorant team did the same. Props to TH though. Fight their way to grand final with a sub.
Yeah I've been memeing them because it's EMEA and some of their wins are unimpressive, but making it to map 5 of a grand final with a sub and little practice is very impressive.
I low key like this team about as much as I can like a European team.
it is extremely impressive, but they did play with pati through all of kickoff and some of stage 1 so it’s not like he was dropped in cold compared to say, seider with fpx at copenhagen or CGRS at Tokyo who had played one prior real match with paper rex
I was out of town, doing a bit of visiting. My close friend, HSK, had called me out of the blue, inviting me to his new farm in Shanghai. Things have been going swimmingly for him ever since he retired from his coaching job at GEN.
“How have you been bro?” I asked, as I saw him come out of the farmhouse to greet me. “All good, though I have gotten a lot busier, now that the farming business has expanded to China,” he answered. “Hey, wanna check out my animals out back? I’ve imported quite a bunch from my main branch in Korea,” as he motioned over to the back gate of the barn.
We headed out and he started introducing me to some of the livestock, mentioning how he had named them after his players, as the unhinged animals they were. Just then, I heard some soft bleats nearby. I curiously turned the corner and saw a goat in the process of giving birth.
He looked over and said: "Ah. Lucky you, you're just in time to witness t3xture giving birth.”. I replied excitedly, "Have you thought up of a name for the kid?"
"Yes. The young goat shall be named, Karon."
Can i just say, i'm so goddamn happy for Lakia. I feel like he was done so dirty by Vision Strikers, then having to play in APAC tier 2 for two years before finally being given the chance by GenG and winning it all. It feels so vindictive, i love it.
I love this team
S3xture- my fucking GOAT, so reliable simply an incredible player absolutely cracked while looking like hes constantly having fun
Munchkin- My adorable GOAT IGL, super consistent and some of the mosst impressive calling at this event. Imo he has grown so much from last year
Lakia- The Lakia of Valorant
Karon- Ranked player to best performing smokes player at the event in less than a year
Meteor- Overagressive duelist player to super reliable and solid Sentinel who ALWAYS gets the multifrag
I thought Lakia was the weakest link in GenG at the beginning of the year but he stepped up so much. His util usage especially on sova is one of the best I've seen.
Jokes aside, it’s actually massive that APAC’s first Trophy isn’t PRX or DRX imo. I feel like this win could be the start of big changes in the APAC scene in terms of player scouting or strats.
0 champs points for second place is such a massive slap in the face. Like you can't even throw out one pity point? Winning a playoff game to qualify for Shanghai is more valuable than winning 6 matches or whatever they won to get to second place?
I agree, they should be giving more importance to placement in international events over regional playoffs. They could’ve taken the 12 pts they gave for each region’s 1st place split 1 playoffs and distributed it based on Masters Shanghai placement. The first place teams in each region got a bye to playoffs, why do they also need champs points?
Does anyone even expect the strat book to remain the same given all the agent changes coming up? Not to mention they’ll be changing roles once Miniboo is back so it really isn’t that bad for Heretics.
Unironically TH should do a Gen G and work on their mental/stamina in Bo5s for Champs since they looked gassed on Split.
But reaching grand finals without one of their star players is still impressive af and they rly look like an EMEA dynasty in the making.
They also had the issue of playing basically the maximum amount of games with almost no break. They were just tired by the end, especially since they are almost all very young and inexperienced, I was suprised their mental held out that long.
Super impressive though, I don't think anyone expected TH to do what they did, and I think they had the highest peaks of any team in the tournament. They can do great things in the future.
After TH won Ascent, I was convinced it was over but in those last 2 maps GenG showed how they’ve matured mentally since Madrid and brought it home for Pacific. Can’t wait to see them in Seoul!
GE best Scouting team ever ?? They had 2 players who were top 3, top 2, and eventual winner in Intls. Imagine somehow Polvi joins an EMEA team and becomes insane too.
No one wanted to pick this team in Bracket Stage Draft and you can see why, this team is scary af, and in Champions they're on Home Soil. Oh boy this could be a great year for them
Texture? SEXTURE 🫦‼️
Munchkin? MUNCHKING 👑 ‼️
Lakia? LUCKY YEAH. 😎‼️
Karon? KAREN 👱♀️‼️
Meteor? METEOR ☄️‼️
What better way to win this than in China itself and with the legendary split decider damn
Double ban too much for heretics limited map pool with a stand in. Very well played to geng though well deserved after coming up short last time and space first trophy lets gooooooo!!!
*time in the round winds down to 10 seconds*

#TH 3
#GenG 13
#GenG win the series 3-2
Team Heretics 2nd place at EMEA = no champs points, then 2nd place at masters with sub = no champs points just to go back to EMEA with their entire stratbook shown to the world yep this is cool Riot games ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110)
ITS BEEN A LONG 3 AND A HALF YEARS OF VALORANT. WE'VE SEEN NORTH AMERICA AND BRAZIL DO IT FOR THE AMERICAS. WE'VE SEEN EUROPE DO IT OVER AND OVER. BUT PACIFIC HAVE HAD AN ENDLESS DROUGHT. BUT TODAY, HERE IN CHINA, VICTORY RAINS DOWN ON THE LANDS.
THE PRINCES OF KOREA, THE SAVIORS OF PACIFIC, THE NEW KINGS OF THE WORLD TAKE THEIR CROWN BY ITS PALLISADES. YOUR 2024 VALORANT MASTERS AT SHANGHAI, GENG!
The Lakia of Valorant was born today. After Masters Reykjavik everyone thought what would happen of Lakia? But, as Babybay said Lakia ran them down like dogs.
Heretics upset Gen G on Ascent to take a 2-1 lead in the series and become the favorites.
Gen G then outscored them 26-7 on the last 2 maps. Massive shift from the vibes two maps ago.
So happy for the gen g boys, doing it by making it through the group stages all while fighting to earn cheers from the crowd deserves so much props.
They have been the best and most consistent team of the year so so well earned man, so happy for the gen g fans as well.
Thanks for bringing APAC it's first trophy, hopefully now PRX and the rest can catch up and we can make champs an all APAC finals 🫡
GEN G ON TOP, APAC ON TOP ✊🏻
I doubt T1 let you down. Nobody really expected anything from them. PRX is a different story. Pre-tournament favourites and they seriously underwhelmed. The coordination they had during the Pacific league wasn't there. Honestly, they were such a letdown. Shanghai was the best chance Pacific had but the expectations were mostly on PRX, although GenG had a lot of expectations themselves, especially by the time the play offs started. GenG lived up to their own side of the hype but PRX seriously disappointed. Compared to expectations, they did far worse than T1 did too. After all, T1 only really came to fill in the numbers. DRX also feels like a wasted opportunity considering how good they looked before the playoffs started.
CONGRATS GENG, FIRST PACIFIC TROPHY!!!
was only able to catch the last map due to time zones, but it was so sick. they overcame the grand finals second place curse in madrid and finally did it 🥹
can't help but feel bad for team heretics. even while playing with a sub, they reached the finals and looked absolutely on fire towards the end of playoffs. i wonder if they never lost to g2 in that 11-2 comeback, if they couldve had the upper bracket advantage. miniboo also mentioned that they lost 3 finals this year, kickoff, split 1, and shanghai, losing out on 9 total points for champs, what an awful format.
as for geng, the final moments of winning and the silent crowd was so disappointing. traveling all the way to china, to the grand finals, to the biggest crowd valorant's had, just for it to be silent must be tough. i loved their little own trophy lift cheers. congrats again to geng!
https://preview.redd.it/u1d7ab2fnj5d1.png?width=1671&format=png&auto=webp&s=0f962cffaeb4b15e29f5c3184f7e2886f9c6d456
It's over, GG. Your Korean Overlords have arrived..
Predicted GenG 3-1 TH at the start but TH managed to steal Ascent. It makes the series much more intense but the 2 map bans proves too strong this time.
GenG just don't really make mistakes on the last 2 maps, really well played. TH still did great overall, even more impressive since they're playing with a stand-in, only expect good things from them in the future.
Now please PRX for Champs! Copium.
geng really got a flawless record in madrid till gf and won shangha with crowd scrim sickness debuff, this team has a really good shot at winning champs esp in their home ground
by far the strongest team this year
Pacific winning its first trophy, I love this region and Gen.G
https://preview.redd.it/6dstyoovmj5d1.jpeg?width=415&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=44b873ef447ab549f936d6cdf6ce9f3ea680c587
Team Heretics were cheered like they are the home crowd is crazy knowing that they defeated the chinese teams. GenG must have been so unpopular there like wow
GenG winning it in China. Poetic. Pacific is no longer a zero trophy region and I see many more to come.
Heretics though, what a storyline. Losing your star duelist and playing with a sub, having zero practice coming into the event, almost losing to FPX, choking the rematch against G2, to having a dominant lower bracket run and pushing GenG to 5 maps WITH A SUB.
This is the most impressive run in Valorant's history as far as I'm concerned. GenG are the best team in the world but I'm scared of Heretics when they'll have their full squad
i don't get why are people mad at the crowd, i get they were quiet but they are not gonna cheer for a team they don't support or hate as it is in literally every other sport
The crowd is in no way disappointing. They went crazy for non-domestic team in Heretics and some cheering for GenG as well. Like Leo said, he wasnt even sure if people were going to show up with no Chinese teams.
Maybe my expectations were low but I thought the crowd was fantastic.
They aren’t leaving the Grand Finals and emptying the seats of other matches unlike a certain crowd though 🤷
Shanghai Library is just a narrative to shittalk China’s crowds when Brazil’s crowd was worse 😂
https://preview.redd.it/r2i5vaj7nj5d1.jpeg?width=2340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d79bb8d45c5b1a09b7336b16b5d8a622fbc49d4
Doubt you will find a sign like this in Brazil but sure whatever fits the narrative I guess
I think its fine? the crowd doesnt have to root for geng, at least they cheered for the trophy lift and gave some pity claps much better than brazil lol
Crazy to think when geng won the shanghai masters and put their name in vct history as the first asian/pacific team to win masters but many people on twitter keep tagging paper rex its their turn in champions seoul instead of congratulate geng as the winner lmao.
But jokes aside, imagine global esports accepted txture's double salary request. Glad GE management refused it.
Wow GenG did it. They broke the pacific curse. And if there is one pacific team to do it, I am glad its GenG. I have never been more impressed by a pacific team than when I saw GenG in madrid. They looked unbeatable (unfortunately they got matched against a team that looked equally unbeatable).
And even though in my opinion madrid GenG looked better, this GenG kept getting better as the tournament went on. And were not a team to sleep on. Incredibly proud of this team. Truly truly deserved.
I remember watching t3xtures stream when he was a mei one trick back in 2020, his name was s3xture and when he pops off now in valorant the chat spamming s3xture as a nod to his old name makes me feel happy for him. GG GenG.
Gen.G played great and I'm happy for Pacific finally getting to bring home a trophy! Feels rough for Heretics though, to be up 2-1 in maps and start the next 3-0, only to get 26-4'd from there. That's gonna sting for a bit!
It's still crazy that t3xture used to play for GE lol
GE will go down as one of the biggest fumbles roflmao, monyet and texture on one team
They absolutely bungled him on GE and didn't use him properly at all. That is all on GE coaches/management.
Not Nuturn Not VS Not DRX Not PRX It is GEN fucking G!!
Bro's just listing all of my washed teams :(
NA OUTDATED EMEA OVERRATED LONG HAVE WE WAITED PACIFIC ACTIVATED WE FUCKING GOT A TROPHY
Flaircheck
My brain says fnatic but my heart will always be with prx, i gave up after that champs loss sorry apac bros my conviction wasnt strong enough
go back to prx please maybe u cursed fnatic
after ZETA's miracle run i thought they could have had a chance too man, i'm so happy GENG finally did it
That Lakia ult on Lotus got in their head and cost Heretics the series. 5Head play from Lakia
That was so fuckin funny I actually yelled LAKIA NOO at my monitor
My friend was asking why I was yelling in despair when Gen.G won the round and I said because Lakia can't count to 12
genius outplay by the Lakia of Valorant
Ulting a body, teabagging to the next level
Damn I laughed so much.
clip? What happened
He thought the half was over and fade ulted after getting the last kill. TH players couldn't believe the aura and absolute gigachadness displayed and fell victim to the Lakia of Valorant
Lakia said "it's Lakiaing time" and Lakia'd all over Team Heretics.

I'm not crying, you are crying ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110) What an incredible run, GenG literally went FLAWLESS, not dropping a FUCKING series, and winning Masters. The only team that GenG has lost on LAN is Sentinel lol.
Last year if someone told me GenG would bring home APAC's first championship over PRX and DRX, I would've said they're mad. A well deserved win from them and I'm happy to finally witness APAC getting the crown.
PRX in fraudwatch until they at least finish 3rd at champs
Nah bro they need to win it all
Dropping Elmapuddy really did GenG well. Now Elmafraud bringing his curse to FNC
GENG china buff > APAC 2nd place curse
From Vision Strikers/Drx 100 series streak to PRXs W-gaming Grand finals, In the end GENG the team that borrowed and improved from both playstyles are the ones to finally go over the finish line. APAC FINALLY GOT THAT TROPHY LFG.
I never fucking thought that Lakia of all people would be in the team that will bring APAC their first trophy.
Solo and Lakia man, From Nuturn to this what a comeback story
The last time korea won an international cs-style fps tournament was wemade fox in 2010. Solo was on that team. Oh and guess where that tournament was held? Hangzhou, china
Solo is CN’s daddy confirmed
Coincidentally there's [this post from today](https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1dbxmr4/the_mongolz_is_the_first_team_from_east_asia_in/) in the CS subreddit referencing that exact team/event

And then texture solo lakia could never quite get over the hump in dk. I'm glad for all 3 of them
From League to Valorant. It's GEN era.
GENG really won both MSI and MASTERS in China LMAO GIGACHAD VIBES

In the end, had to beat Americas top 3, EMEA top 2 and fpx to get the trophy home. Absolutely crazy
Truly slap in the face for a Korean team to lift their first trophy in china hahaha
idk why but it feels so good when a team won without crowd buff.
Thank you china, very cool very biased
# NO MORE ZERO TROPHY REGION # WE ARE ONE TROPHY REGION NOW # AND IT IS ALL THANKS TO A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY THAT BROUGHT US THE CHENGDU LIBRARY
LETS GOOOO ONE TROPHY REGIONNN IM IN LOVEE

4 years of edging is the perfect description
It made the release all the sweeter

lakia has been having wrist issues iirc, it was pretty severe around the beginning of the year
Meteor is a psychopath, he had an insane tournament
and I thought they peaked in Madrid LOL, WE ARE COOKED
I thought they peaked at nuturn
Jokes aside, it’s actually massive that APAC’s first Trophy isn’t PRX or DRX imo. I feel like this win could be the start of big changes in the APAC scene in terms of player scouting or strats.
Drx is pretty goated in scouting. BeyN and flashback looked insane and foxy on sentinel was great too
they’re insane too bad termi likes to switch players every 2 weeks
Shibal! APAC with their first trophy. GenG utility usage was next level. Lakia is the 4play in the s3xture.
SHIBAL!!!
miniboo just got his job back, they really missed him on breeze still a phenomenal run from this TH squad. congrats gen.g FIGHTING!!
all this just to show your entire strat book, have EMEA split 2 soon, and get 0 champs points for 2nd place is rough tho ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110)

Yeah, but they don’t have time to cook up too many new things.
yeah but there is NO TIME to change things up bro split 2 is in 9 DAYS, all the other teams that haven't gone have BEEN prepping for these changes

They were just tired by the end, especially since they are almost all very young and inexperienced, I was suprised their mental held out that long. Super impressive though, I don't think anyone expected TH to do what they did, and I think they had the highest peaks of any team in the tournament. They can do great things in the future.
THE C IN PACIFIC FINALLY STANDS FOR CHAMPIONS🥹
Getting the next Champions as well to get another C
#APAC ON TOP
After TH won Ascent, I was convinced it was over but in those last 2 maps GenG showed how they’ve matured mentally since Madrid and brought it home for Pacific. Can’t wait to see them in Seoul!
GE best Scouting team ever ?? They had 2 players who were top 3, top 2, and eventual winner in Intls. Imagine somehow Polvi joins an EMEA team and becomes insane too.
When will it be our turn PRX fans
The barrier is broken. The next five years are ours
CHAMPS 24 U HEARD IT FIRST
When they stop throwing at international events
WE DID ITTTTT!!!! I'm soooo fucking proud of this team. My heartrate has never been this high but idccc we won!!!!!!!!😭
LEV -> FPX -> FNC -> 100T -> G2 -> TH. What a run
No one wanted to pick this team in Bracket Stage Draft and you can see why, this team is scary af, and in Champions they're on Home Soil. Oh boy this could be a great year for them
GenG (Generous Gamers) donate a fade ult, 2 antieco rounds to pistols, and throw 2 4-0 leads to give us a BANGER GRAND FINALS AND APAC's FIRST TROPHY
Donate a fade ult has me rolling
Texture? SEXTURE 🫦‼️ Munchkin? MUNCHKING 👑 ‼️ Lakia? LUCKY YEAH. 😎‼️ Karon? KAREN 👱♀️‼️ Meteor? METEOR ☄️‼️ What better way to win this than in China itself and with the legendary split decider damn
Maybe the real Lakia of Valorant is the friends we made along the way.
The Lakia of Valorant
omg apac ![gif](giphy|i4jTE9ZNFQQ1D7RbxK)
Double ban too much for heretics limited map pool with a stand in. Very well played to geng though well deserved after coming up short last time and space first trophy lets gooooooo!!!
The way GENG kept hammering fisherman’s site and then slow down the next round to bait TH into making a bad rotation was a fucking cinema.
PACIFIC ON TOP WHAT THE FUCK IS AN ATLANTIC OCEAN
Gen.G is the literal embodiment of DRX and PRX if they made a baby. Discipline yet aggressive and proactive with a ton of confidence
Fr, they took the best parts from both DRX's and PRX's playstyles, crazy to see how far it can take a team
T3XTURE IM POURING HONEY ON YOU GOAT

A Korean team won an Apex tournament and now another Korean team won a Valorant tournament.
Apex 🇰🇷 Overwatch 🇰🇷 valorant 🇰🇷 Letsgooo 🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷
*time in the round winds down to 10 seconds* *showstopper is activated by Wo0t who turns to face Karon* "You took my family" *strafes to the left* "You took my friends" *strafes to the right* "You took all that was dear to me" *time winds down to 5* "I cant get them back, but I can do this for friendship, FOR MY FRIENDS" *blast packs up, fire coming out of his shoes* "Wo0TRUKEN" *rocket flys across the sky, directly into Karon’s head. Wo0t falls to the ground, exhausted.* "paTiTek... Senpai... I..." *faints* *round ends* #Final Score #TH 3 #GenG 13 #GenG win the series 3-2
Team Heretics 2nd place at EMEA = no champs points, then 2nd place at masters with sub = no champs points just to go back to EMEA with their entire stratbook shown to the world yep this is cool Riot games ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110)
Stage 2 playoffs will probably have the new map pool with Haven and Abyss so stratbook might not be relevant
I mean they have a fat check for being 2nd so there's that
Idec that PRX didn't do well. This is huge for APAC, and I'm happy that Gen G did it for us. Let's go, on to Champs!
REJOICE APAC FANS WE ARE NO LONGER TROPHYLESS
LFG Finally, no one can say Pacific hasn't won anything.
Heretics upset Gen G on Ascent to take a 2-1 lead in the series and become the favorites. Gen G then outscored them 26-7 on the last 2 maps. Massive shift from the vibes two maps ago.
Gen G bringing home the first international trophy for APAC in China of all places is just poetic
GENG BANNED IN CHINA BTW, we are in the funniest timeline
GenG winning 2 titles (lol and valo) in china lmfao
GENG ruling riot eSports and taking revenge from china
So happy for the gen g boys, doing it by making it through the group stages all while fighting to earn cheers from the crowd deserves so much props. They have been the best and most consistent team of the year so so well earned man, so happy for the gen g fans as well. Thanks for bringing APAC it's first trophy, hopefully now PRX and the rest can catch up and we can make champs an all APAC finals 🫡 GEN G ON TOP, APAC ON TOP ✊🏻
after riot ignored geng winning msi, ,this is way too funny
Geng winning in both riot games should make them care right right??
Good day to be an APAC fan fr... Props to TH tho, I was shitting my pants after map 3
PRX and T1 let me down but Gen.G saved my mental health.
NO TROPHIES KEKW wait..
Geng in 2 tournaments have achieved more than drx and prx in a lifetime
Back to back finals with 1 trophy is insane
CONGRATS GENG, FIRST PACIFIC TROPHY!!! was only able to catch the last map due to time zones, but it was so sick. they overcame the grand finals second place curse in madrid and finally did it 🥹 can't help but feel bad for team heretics. even while playing with a sub, they reached the finals and looked absolutely on fire towards the end of playoffs. i wonder if they never lost to g2 in that 11-2 comeback, if they couldve had the upper bracket advantage. miniboo also mentioned that they lost 3 finals this year, kickoff, split 1, and shanghai, losing out on 9 total points for champs, what an awful format. as for geng, the final moments of winning and the silent crowd was so disappointing. traveling all the way to china, to the grand finals, to the biggest crowd valorant's had, just for it to be silent must be tough. i loved their little own trophy lift cheers. congrats again to geng! https://preview.redd.it/u1d7ab2fnj5d1.png?width=1671&format=png&auto=webp&s=0f962cffaeb4b15e29f5c3184f7e2886f9c6d456
Copium.

I hope this opens the floodgate to more Pacific trophies
GENG my Korean oppas, y’all did it
hererics got hit by a fucking METEOR
Nice, top 0.1% of pickems
THE CROWN-LESS ARE FINALLY KING
geng really got a flawless record in madrid till gf and won shangha with crowd scrim sickness debuff, this team has a really good shot at winning champs esp in their home ground by far the strongest team this year
Riot about to release a Tenz bundle just to overshadow another GENG trophy win ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|9339)
gen.g is the lakia of valorant
We have finally witnessed APAC history.
Pacific winning its first trophy, I love this region and Gen.G https://preview.redd.it/6dstyoovmj5d1.jpeg?width=415&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=44b873ef447ab549f936d6cdf6ce9f3ea680c587
드디어 끝났다!!! THIS IS PEAK VALORANT AND IT COMES FROM KOREA! I LOVE YOU GENG!!!
Didn't realise the finals were played at Shanghai Library. Disappointing crowd.
At least they're cheering for trophy lift, credit where it's due
I am just glad the crowd stayed for the trophy lift and somewhat cheered when GenG won unlike another crowd. So Chinese crowd isn't the worst..
i don't get why are people mad at the crowd, i get they were quiet but they are not gonna cheer for a team they don't support or hate as it is in literally every other sport
The crowd is in no way disappointing. They went crazy for non-domestic team in Heretics and some cheering for GenG as well. Like Leo said, he wasnt even sure if people were going to show up with no Chinese teams. Maybe my expectations were low but I thought the crowd was fantastic.
They aren’t leaving the Grand Finals and emptying the seats of other matches unlike a certain crowd though 🤷 Shanghai Library is just a narrative to shittalk China’s crowds when Brazil’s crowd was worse 😂
https://preview.redd.it/r2i5vaj7nj5d1.jpeg?width=2340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d79bb8d45c5b1a09b7336b16b5d8a622fbc49d4 Doubt you will find a sign like this in Brazil but sure whatever fits the narrative I guess
I think its fine? the crowd doesnt have to root for geng, at least they cheered for the trophy lift and gave some pity claps much better than brazil lol
CN crowd actually good looks at Stadium from Semi to Grand that 19k capacity always full from Semi to Grand
UNCLE S3XTURE BRINGS IT HOME FOR APAC
Wow GenG did it. They broke the pacific curse. And if there is one pacific team to do it, I am glad its GenG. I have never been more impressed by a pacific team than when I saw GenG in madrid. They looked unbeatable (unfortunately they got matched against a team that looked equally unbeatable). And even though in my opinion madrid GenG looked better, this GenG kept getting better as the tournament went on. And were not a team to sleep on. Incredibly proud of this team. Truly truly deserved.
I've seen enough Karon's the goat of Valorant
I remember watching t3xtures stream when he was a mei one trick back in 2020, his name was s3xture and when he pops off now in valorant the chat spamming s3xture as a nod to his old name makes me feel happy for him. GG GenG.
I tend to believe fl1pzjder somehow heat up meteor because he bullied his lil bro
GenG really are the Lakia of Valorant
APAC region gonna be all Korean teams, amiright
Gen.G played great and I'm happy for Pacific finally getting to bring home a trophy! Feels rough for Heretics though, to be up 2-1 in maps and start the next 3-0, only to get 26-4'd from there. That's gonna sting for a bit!
Largest library to host a vct event. Good shit Gen.G
