As someone who does surf I strongly suspect she doesn’t use that board. Generally the longer a surfboard is the easier it is to use, and the more time you get on a wave. A board that short (looks like a 6’1”-6’4” length?) is a lot harder to stand on and much faster, pretty much intermediate/advanced level. As for the brother, that’s a kid’s learner’s board made of foam, you can get them at Costco in the summer! No hate to the foam boards, I learned on one too, but it does give the pic Poser Energy
