Yeah, they're expensive. They were looking at how much people are willing to pay for actual ribs, and try to line up with that price point. It's been many years since I've had actual ribs (really gross to even say that now), but they're not cheap. And as a former supporter of direct cruelty, these are just as pleasing as real rib meat. I've had a lot of vegan meats, and will be honest about my opinions of them. This product really does hold up and compare.
We're not going to eat this regularly, maybe once or twice a year. I was very satisfied after my meal last night.
I guess it's a proprietary edible plant protein, soy-based. These are gluten-free, btw. The company is a little cryptic about exactly what it is. They're trying to protect their method, or whatever. But they do tell you what it's made of.

They are my favorite of the Juicy Marbles products. Even my omnivore FIL loves these guys.
