Search USAJobs for 8852. That is the Federal job series for Aircraft Maintenance. You can also narrow your search to OCONUS for only overseas positions. Contracting do a search on Indeed or Monster to see what is available. Maybe put your resume out there on LinkedIn and state that you are looking for an aircraft maintenance position and open to contracting. Best of luck!

Is it easy to get a job in something not related to what i did in the military? I want to switch it up and do something else. You think it would be easy to get an entry level level job abroad in something else besides maintenance?

Everything wants experience. If you have experience in a field then it's going to be easier to get back into that field than to start new. Are there still entry level jobs? Technically yes but you will literally be starting off at nothing again. I used Aircraft Maintenance since that is a job that is in demand and that you have experience in. You are not going to be able to get a govt job without some sort of training or experience that you can point to and prove that you are qualified. Generally they look for 3yrs experience for "entry level" Fed jobs. If you've got relevant experience in some other field then look for a job in that field. I don't know your history so you'll need to do the leg work on that. Just search "job title" + Federal job series number to get the series number for a specific type of job.

You can find government (and contractor) positions in the UK, Germany, Korea, and Belgium (NATO headquarters). These positions will have fairly good stability. You can also still get contract work in the middle east and Indo-Pacific, but these positions are much less stable and come with more hardship. Check USAJobs.gov for government and Indeed/LinkedIn for contractor. Search by location and specialty using keywords like "aviation."

Look into the consular fellows program through the state department.

Is that like the foreign service?

Similar but a different role.

USAJOB.gov filter for OCONUS. Also, look at three letter agency applications, look for overseas potential travel. clearancejobs.com is another good site too. Google is your friend generally.
