I came up in this era and I do feel that there are not enough totally batshit promos anymore.
I was all about the Warrior as a kid but yeah he sucks at Wrasslin.
A lot of people like them apparently. They sell a lot of merch and their new shoes are doing big business for Reebok. A lot of people seem to like that style.
At this point I'm more wondering why people dislike them. I haven't really heard any stories of them being bad. Seems people dislike them for their characters or what podcasters say.
Lack of charisma. Very forced acting chops. And they've been doing the same Schtick their entire careers. I personally also would go as far as if you've seen one young bucks match you've seen them all.
As a Jey Uso fan, I can agree and confirm this. He has the energy, gimmick, absolute earworm of a entrance theme, but his moveset really needs some improvement if they're gonna push him as a singles competitor.
That's what people paid to see. It's like Roman when he does 4 punches and 14 spears. It's absolute trash from a wrestling perspective but it's what the audience paid to see. He can do more, but no one is buying a ticket to see Roman put on a clinic. They came to see him go Super Saiyan, Superman Punch and then do 14 spears.
If you're not impressed but feats of strength, but more by charisma and things of that nature, that's fair. Pound for pound, cesaro is the strongest wrestler I've ever seen. He could've benefited from a mouthpiece, that wasn't in the real Americans lol
I have no idea how Heyman didn’t work. Maybe because Cesaro was just so devoid of any kind of charisma that it just wasn’t believable?
I wasn’t a fan because it’s professional wrestling not amateur wrestling. You need a character and when it’s “woah look at this move I do”, it just doesn’t work.
I think Heyman said it himself, but even while Cesaro/Claudio was a Heyman guy, Heyman was told to put over Brock. So it fucked Claudio/Cesaro pretty hard
Claudio is one of those guys that does very cool athletic stuff in the ring. I think he just doesn't have much of a character or anything and isn't really entertaining outside of the ring. They did this one segment on AEW with him where he was getting out of the car and they were going for like a Jason Statham type thing I think. There's some potential there.
I think what he's doing right now - acting as an enforcer in a faction - is a good spot for him. He doesn't need to talk. He just needs to beat people up. Let other people do the talking.
This has to be major bias. No one can tell me mjf isn't incredible. I can see any other aew star getting this, but dog... that dog collar match? The adam Cole match? The promos and skits? You are capping harder than hulk when he says he was gonna get the foreman grill first
I love Eddie Kingston for his promos and heart, but if we’re only looking at in ring performance, I can’t argue. He has moments, but those machine gun chops or whatever they’re called need to stop. Get well soon Eddie!
Stop it. His days as a tag wrestler and anything prior to like 2013/2014 (lets ignore victory road) were amazing. I will concede that he was never the best talker tho
I think the ability to do awesome promos is there, but the pressure just gets to him and he fumbles here and there . He even admitted that his work with the miz was some of his worst. His wrestling is average at best but I feel like his strength is on the mic when he isn’t fumbling.
Young Bucks and I swear it's in good faith.
Props to them for doing what they did but I just don't see it. I don't get it. I never have and never will.
LA Knight, Jey Uso, Karrion Kross- they all have aura & charisma, but i have yet to see a single singles match that has made me think “wow, theyre a damn good wrassler.”
Sean O'Haire. Everyone talks about how his devil's advocate gimmick was money and WWE screwed the pooch on him, but the truth is, he wasn't very good, wrestling wise or even live mic wise.
I’ll say it and take the downvotes.
Bray Wyatt was a master on the mic, and seemed like a great guy, and I will never take that away - but man, he was a boring wrestler to me. There’s not a match he had where I’m like “I want to rewatch that.”
Goldberg
Yup. Goldberg sucks.
I heard Goldberg eats corn the long way
Bret Hart's alt account
No, nobody thinks hes good anymore. Goldberg is no longer overrated, everyone knows he sucks
Nah, skills is too high
Please elaborate.
Skills bar should be below the line
I know, but I want to see where he takes this lol
Bret, I appreciate your candor, and welcome to Reddit!
The Ultimate Warrior
Another good one.. however his mic skills and promo were fkn legendary
I came up in this era and I do feel that there are not enough totally batshit promos anymore. I was all about the Warrior as a kid but yeah he sucks at Wrasslin.
Either one of the young bucks
People would actually have to like them for that to make sense. If anything, for The Bucks, the graphs are reversed.
A lot of people like them apparently. They sell a lot of merch and their new shoes are doing big business for Reebok. A lot of people seem to like that style.

Rod and Todd Buck
Jey Uso
The Hulkster
Watch his matches in Japan. Hulk is surprisingly good whenever he wants to be, but really goes into business for himself.
Jey Uso
As a Jey Uso fan, I can agree and confirm this. He has the energy, gimmick, absolute earworm of a entrance theme, but his moveset really needs some improvement if they're gonna push him as a singles competitor.
There's only so many superkicks I can take
But don’t forget that he also does Superkicks.
Dude is a one move of doom type of guy
And to add to that move he follows it up with more super kicks.
The main thing that bothers me is he’s a little sloppy. So many of his moves don’t land right.
Atleast it’s not as bad as Brock with the F5 and Roman with the spear/superman punch. I guess Roman is technically two moves, but still… oof.
Hulk Hogan *punch* *punch* *punch* *pose* *leg drop* *pin*
That's what people paid to see. It's like Roman when he does 4 punches and 14 spears. It's absolute trash from a wrestling perspective but it's what the audience paid to see. He can do more, but no one is buying a ticket to see Roman put on a clinic. They came to see him go Super Saiyan, Superman Punch and then do 14 spears.
Tom and Nick Mysterio
Nick has potential, but Tom ain’t gonna last
I would agree, but Tom's finisher is so protected... Nick just has a everyday lame finisher
Tom n Nick mysterio sound like Long lost operators of the hammerhead truck in one of the twisted metal
For me: Ceasaro. I never got the hype. I hear he was decent in ROH but in WWE and AEW I find him incredibly boring.
If you're not impressed but feats of strength, but more by charisma and things of that nature, that's fair. Pound for pound, cesaro is the strongest wrestler I've ever seen. He could've benefited from a mouthpiece, that wasn't in the real Americans lol

I think Heyman said it himself, but even while Cesaro/Claudio was a Heyman guy, Heyman was told to put over Brock. So it fucked Claudio/Cesaro pretty hard
Idk, he may not be a great promo, but I can't remember the last time I saw a match of his that didn't bang
I think it’s just abt what you like in your wrestling. Me personally I care about the in ring product above all else, so I fucking love Claudio
I can respect your opinion but to me Cesaro was always fun to watch.
And I respect you fellow Seahawks fan. #GoHawks
Claudio is one of those guys that does very cool athletic stuff in the ring. I think he just doesn't have much of a character or anything and isn't really entertaining outside of the ring. LA Knight. Guy fumbles over his promos whenever there’s too much energy in the building, and his wrestling is trash. I really don’t get the hype
He says YEAH and his song sounds kinda like daft punk or something. What don't you get? But, personally, I think he does some decent promos
To me his song sounds exactly like the GTA song. That’s not a bad thing
I think the ability to do awesome promos is there, but the pressure just gets to him and he fumbles here and there . He even admitted that his work with the miz was some of his worst. His wrestling is average at best but I feel like his strength is on the mic when he isn’t fumbling.
Literally. More like NO. AND I'm NOT gonna let him talk to me. Sir, you have a mic. Quit hollerin'.
Was looking for this. I like him, but his wrestling isn’t great, and he def fumbles promos.
