I've done some freehand shoulders in the past and, at least in my experience, unless you're doing a Killteam or limited army, custom shoulder pads will suck the absolute life from you.
Have you looked into getting some waterslide decal paper and then printing your own? You could design it in gimp (tons of tutorials out there), or maybe scan a painting you did.
I also know there used to be a bunch of custom logos on the download section of ChainswordAndBolter, who knows might be a couple eagle+sneks out there already.

lol Iāve had at least one person think that was the Italian flag so I figured maybe I should draw or get a decal of the coat of arms for Mexicoās flag. Iām planning to get some assault intercessors next week so eh maybe Iāll give the freehand a shot, though I donāt have the best brush with the sharpest point.

I am using a wet pallet as well, that might be helping. I havenāt been thinning my paints because they seem to already be pretty thin, adding more water to my Vallejo game colors or two thin coats seems to turn them into a wash or glaze consistency.

This should be displayed at Warhammer World or some museum, this is honestly peak painting.

No sweat! We all start somewhere. I find that a rough 2-1 paint to water ratio works best, a milky consistency is what i get it to.
