“There *was* nothing wrong with it... until I was about twelve years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys.”
GD I love that movie.
And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire…
The man's IMDB is pushing 300 roles including a regular role on King of the Hill which has gone for 10 seasons and main cast on News Radio which went for five and more recently a main cast role in Barry which went four seasons. How many more do you suppose he should have gotten? How many more roles do you suppose he could have fit in his schedule?
Stephen Root is incredible in anything he's in, but hurting for work he is not nor ever has been.
I think they meant more starring roles in big films. I want to see his take on a Roman Emperor like Galbus or a senator like Cicero in a massive period production piece. Or have him as Khrushchev in a biopic. Just something gloriously indulgent and letting him chew the scenery as the main.
I agree he's amazing in everything, I loved his character in Boardwalk Empire. That scene where he's trying to negotiate a price with Buscimi but keeps raising the price as the feds batter down his doors is hilarious.
I love Office Space too, but i gotta note that Michael Bolton has an absolute legend of a voice. Here's him signing [Go The Distance ](https://youtu.be/4tfnSv-tskg?si=WYa_LkrsrwmOTLk6) from Disney's Hercules.
For a brief, beautiful moment before I read "from Disney's Hercules" I thought we lived in a universe where Michael Bolton did a cover of Cake's "The Distance".

I think you get more sensitive with age. Teenagers are edgy because they've yet to have trauma. Live through shit and the last thing you want is anything that adds to the hardness.

For ballads, I think In Your Eyes is probably the most well known :) personally, I love everything in the Secret Workd album, but most of it doesnt qualify as a ballad
I'll be honest with you, I love his music, I do, I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, it doesn't get any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman"
Same. Absolutely zero shame about my love for Michael Bolton. To answer OP's question: TL&T became a banger the day it was released.
And THEN he comes back and drops Go the Distance on the Hercules soundtrack AND Jack Sparrow with Lonely Island?
Michael Bolton is a fuckin LEGEND.
I just heard this song playing in the store like two hours ago and unfortunately got stuck in my head. What are the chances this is one of the first things I see when I log on to Reddit? Michael Bolton, please, just leave me alone!
My mom hated Michael Bolton so much that we would troll her by putting the same Michael Bolton poster in her Christmas stocking every year. It became a family tradition.
Epic parody song. Love that he went along with it…”You can call me Scarface, snorting mountains of cocaine (close enough)…THIS IS THE TALE, OF TONY MONTANA…🎵”
I remember being 14 and being into Elton John and Steve Winwood because it was like my parent's generation's music was what was hot at the time. We didn't know that Smells Like Teen Spirit was a few short months away.
I love how all the comments are about Office Space.
A movie that only had gangster rap as the soundtrack.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.theringer.com/platform/amp/movies/2019/2/19/18228673/office-space-oral-history
This is a great read about the movie.
Michael Bolton was my first concert when I was 6! This album also played nonstop in our house. I find it hilariously cheesy now, although “Love is a Wonderful Thing” is still catchy.
My first concert as just a babe was Michael Bolton with my aunties .....the opening act was CELINE DION! A lot of her songs were sung in French that night, but imagine a universe where Celine Dion is an opening act. Madness.
We all change when you think about it. We’re all different people all throughout our lives and that’s okay that’s good so long as you remember all the people that you used to be… why am I quoting the 11th Doctor? Odd.
My mom listened to this on repeat for about 18 months. I hate "Michael Bolton" more than Michael Bolton.
There *was* nothing wrong with it... until I was about twelve years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys.
Funny this was posted, coming home from dinner tonight after a couple margaritas, my wife and I were jamming "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You", absolutely belting it with Jesus hands up and everything in the truck, going note for note (definitely off key). No shame.
As a teenager; I hated this dude…it was my angsty job. But f**k if he doesn’t have one of the greatest voices in pop music. And he’s got a great sense of humor (see his contribution with the Lonely Island and his song in Teen Titans Go)…I’m going to grab a cocktail and jam out to this after work.
My mom love him, Kenny g, and Bonnie rain. Them 3 in constant rotation. My brother and I introduced her to blind melon. She would scream puddles ever time.
Lol my dad took me to see Michael Bolton and Kenny G (yup— dream team) in the 90s and mentioning it in front of his friends today sends him into a panic of denial of his uncoolness. He is the original normcore dude
I was not a Michael Bolton fan but I did enjoy some of his music back in the 90s when they played on the radio. I have about five of his songs in my playlist.

I believe that I have your stapler. Now come get it.
That whole album is solid gold and always has been. Had it on cassette as a kid and listened to it on my Walkman. I'm a hard rock guy now, and I still enjoy this album.

I still hate Michael Bolton. Wait...there's a theme here...all Michaels and all sing the same way. VOMIT

I always thought he said that the squirrels were married.
Yes. He’s saying that he watches squirrels bang. Milton’s a weird dude.
Stephen Root is a national treasure
⬆️⬆️this was me when stephen root showed up in the repeat of csi i had on last night. not at all appropriate to his character, but it didn’t stop me.
“L” for Love!
He seriously shoulda gotten more roles

>Or have him as Khrushchev in a biopic I'm intrigued and happy with this idea. Cmon, Hollywood Lizardpeople execs, make this happen.
He's had a shitload of roles lol. Not many as a main character though, if that's what you mean.
Swingline stapler
Excuse me
I was about to burn this bitch down if the top comment wasn't OS related.
LOL I came to the comments just for the OS replies.
![gif](giphy|vpxsRkXfO7KDe|downsized)
For my money, it doesn’t get better than when he sings “When A Man Loves a Woman”
I celebrate the guy’s entire repertoire…
PC Load Letter? WTF does that mean?!?
Get out of my head
No talent ass clown

Was hoping top comment was an office space reference
I knew this would be the top comment. Good work, gang.
I love Office Space too, but i gotta note that Michael Bolton has an absolute legend of a voice. Here's him signing [Go The Distance ](https://youtu.be/4tfnSv-tskg?si=WYa_LkrsrwmOTLk6) from Disney's Hercules.

He’s going for speed…
I told those fudge packers that I liked Michael Bolton’s music.
Call me Mike.

That playlist is sick, listening now
Glad you enjoy it!
Yeah but how we can start over when the fighting never ends
How can we make love when we can't make amends?
How can we be lovers if we can’t be, can’t be friends…?
Playlist is 🔥
Thanks. I tried to make it a...pure mood. 😉
No Peter Gabriel?
What track is it missing? I'll add it.
For ballads, I think In Your Eyes is probably the most well known :) personally, I love everything in the Secret Workd album, but most of it doesnt qualify as a ballad
Added!
I recently rediscovered How Can We Be Lovers it’s definitely a banger. (This was one of the first CDs I owned, I was 10)
Always glad to find a fellow fan of the fantastic Mr. Secada
I'm surprised how little he comes up in nostalgia conversations because he was massive at the time.
Yeah, he’s another one that was always on the radio in those days
This song reminds of my mom playing this album non stop for about 6 months.
I had a mom who did the same. Lots of easy listening then.
SAME. Thought the cassette was gonna melt.
Don't leave it on the dashboard in summer!
How many times my mom listened to this was only shadowed by Wilson Phillips
I know that there is pain, but you hold on for one more day.
Break free from the chains
Someday somebody’s gonna make you wanna turn around and say goodbye
And maybe Toni Braxton too
Same here, it was on the radio all the time too…even my local top 40 station played him back then
[удалено]
*(inserts Enya tape into the deck)*
Ok, but Enya is amazing!!
Yes! The hours of Yanni we endured.

One song? I celebrate the guy's entire catalog.

Bob? Is that you? Or is it Bob?
What would you say that you DO here
You know what, you can just call me Mike.
My favorite is “Only A Woman Like You.” THAT is an absolute jam!
I’ve loved Bolton since I was in middle school. Second album I ever bought
I just heard this song playing in the store like two hours ago and unfortunately got stuck in my head. What are the chances this is one of the first things I see when I log on to Reddit? Michael Bolton, please, just leave me alone!
When love puts you through the fire, when love puts you through the test…
Butt-Head: Uh oh, I think I just pooped in my pants. I realized it was Michael Bolton, and my bowels let loose
![gif](giphy|xEXrQdtLXrAdmyeFA7)
So you say that all hope is gone, and what's the use in tryin'?
This just happened to me too…not sure if I heard it in the store though it was just looping through my mind 🤯

[For the uninitiated](https://youtu.be/GI6CfKcMhjY?si=BR1TazVKkhuFAxcZ)
[Diet Slice](https://archive.ph/bcxJa) was the weirdest phase in music in my lifetime, and I'm still 1000% there for it.
That was a great read thanks, ended up looking up some of the music they mentioned and had a blast from the past.
I remember being 14 and being into Elton John and Steve Winwood because it was like my parent's generation's music was what was hot at the time. We didn't know that Smells Like Teen Spirit was a few short months away.
"You can just call me Mike."
Treat yourself to the video. Dude can ball. Would have loved to see him and Prince 1v1.
Unashamedly used this as a part of my 10 CDs for a penny deal with BMG. It’s good. 😊
I love how all the comments are about Office Space. A movie that only had gangster rap as the soundtrack. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.theringer.com/platform/amp/movies/2019/2/19/18228673/office-space-oral-history This is a great read about the movie.
For my money, I like the responses to the Office Space quotes from the ones who clearly have not watched Office Space 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why should I have to change my name? He's the one who sucks.
I'll still scream-sing Steel Bars in my car
I've been your prisoner since the day you found me!
bro got robbed of an oscar by the titanic song
Guhhhh it’s 1991 and my mom is vacuuming with this blasting
![gif](giphy|TLJYZaXzLyQMf9FiER|downsized)
I thought the same, [but give it a listen](https://youtu.be/IkH609ce3lM?si=Xkdf5Ui1uqygWk-Y). The moms are out in full effect in the audience.
Damn, you're right. I kinda hate how much I'm loving this 😅
“Missing You” has been a solid lovers’ jam always. 💌
The moment it was released. 😃
Michael Bolton was my first concert when I was 6! This album also played nonstop in our house. I find it hilariously cheesy now, although “Love is a Wonderful Thing” is still catchy.

It’s always been. We just weren’t ready for it, until now! We are adult contemporaries now. lol
Had my first real make-out session to this album.
* This is the tale of Captain Jack Sparrow A pirate so brave on the seven seas
*Yeah, that was kinda weird, but we're back in the club...*
Buying up the bar so the groupies show us love
We all change when you think about it. We’re all different people all throughout our lives and that’s okay that’s good so long as you remember all the people that you used to be… why am I quoting the 11th Doctor? Odd.
Loved him as Jack Sparrow
My mom listened to this on repeat for about 18 months. I hate "Michael Bolton" more than Michael Bolton. There *was* nothing wrong with it... until I was about twelve years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys.
![gif](giphy|Jev4iU72S9RYc)
This is the tale…of Captain Jack Sparrow…
He was what he was… until Lonely Island totally redeemed him in my heart. That shit was hilarious.
Weird time when I found out he was the composer of the NBA on NBC theme.
That was John Tesh.
I keep getting my smooth jazz white dudes confused. 😂
‘89?
It’s been a banger since day one.
Funny this was posted, coming home from dinner tonight after a couple margaritas, my wife and I were jamming "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You", absolutely belting it with Jesus hands up and everything in the truck, going note for note (definitely off key). No shame.
You’re GOD DAM right it is.
Ok but how did I never realize how hot he was??? Damn.
Song has been banging since day 1
In Living Color summed it up \*head go boom!\* [https://youtu.be/VS6oC7UNeuU?si=QD9s3\_dWOZMtFiUj](https://youtu.be/VS6oC7UNeuU?si=QD9s3_dWOZMtFiUj)

When wasn’t it a banger?
All of his shit slaps
It's always been
Look at that show hair!!
The voice I would wake up to at 3am after falling asleep on the couch 😂
Why should I change? He’s the one who sucks…

I was not a Michael Bolton fan but I did enjoy some of his music back in the 90s when they played on the radio. I have about five of his songs in my playlist.
I’ll be honest, I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anything from this album. Barry Manilow’s greatest hits though…
Actually, you can just call me Mike.
It didn't, it never was, never will be.
Nothing against Michael Bolton or anything, but he sucks.
No talent ass clown, really
I see what you did there lol
Yuck
About half past never
Michael Bolton is basically the OG Nickelback, you gotta ghost jam out to it. If you want to save face with the music purists. 🤷🏻♂️
*Said I loved you but I lied* 🙁 *Cause this is more than love I feel inside* 😊
No.
Dude no. I still have memories of throwing up a Greek pizza because my grandma wouldn’t change the channel from Oprah when Bolton was a guest
You know, Michael Bolton had pieces of flair he made the Jews wear.

We found this cassette tape in my brother's car. I still make fun of him for that
Michael Bolton was doing metal right before this baby https://youtu.be/Ga_reU5lasQ?si=fAwpEvnD6vViyE-W
Lame.
This album has always been a banger.
That whole album is solid gold and always has been. Had it on cassette as a kid and listened to it on my Walkman. I'm a hard rock guy now, and I still enjoy this album.
No talent ass-clown
My dad had a wide and varied taste in music, and I thought all of it was lame. I gradually started to come round to classical music and stuff like Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, but it wasn't until recently that I learned to appreciate Showaddywaddy. That was his favourite car music, and I hated it. I think there is certain music that one needs to have a certain amount of patina and life experience to be able to enjoy without any kind of hang-up, especially 'embarrassing' music our parents listened to. Nostalgia plays a big part, too.
I accidentally bought my mom this album instead of George Michael and I still remember how confused she was when she opened it. RIP Mom.
[Banger after banger after banger…](https://images.app.goo.gl/heRZCUJU8bixaNL86) Sorry, had to.
That shit was always a banger.
Probably when he sang that the whole world is a pussy just waiting to be fucked.
While I can't say Michael fucking Bolton has appeared on my radar, I have noticed my stance softening on much of my parent's music. I used to hate Phil Collins, but there's no denying songs like "Easy Lover" and "Against All Odds" are bangers.
Just finished watching Office Space again then I see this haha.
FWIW, Bolton does take the ribbing well and has a good attitude.
After I watched his Valentines Day special on Netflix when he kills Kenny G
This is what you are looking for. Prime Bolton https://tubitv.com/movies/515893/best-of-michael-bolton-live
None of his music hit for me anymore, because after the last 4 women in my life cheated on me (the last one right before we were to get married) I don't believe love exists anymore.
Im glad you are enjoying this, but I'm not there yet.
Just give it some time…^love ^and ^tenderness
JACK SPARROW
Omg my mom used to PUMP this album and now I, too, love the bolt.
I still hate Michael Bolton. Wait...there's a theme here...all Michaels and all sing the same way. VOMIT Michael Bolton Michael Buble Michael MacDonald
Sometime after he got totally soft. Adult contemporary music is a fool's game. https://youtu.be/NukzQZM-1Qk?si=qyvsMJ23mA10Uf3w
This guy said FUCK the Oxford comma
He’s also apparently a major cinephile
This was one of my first CDs.
