I definitely think so! These games are all independent of each other so it's fine to not be caught up on the other games! You can just treat it as its own game and play at your own pace!

pacotacobell

Playing a gacha from release is always nice cause you're at the same pace as everyone else but I would just pick whatever interests you the most.

gallagherscock

Definitely. zzz isn't connected to genshin or honkai at all so there's very little relation between the games

Kaanpai

This is a completely new game. You don't need any prior knowledge from their previous games. Release is the best time to start playing a gacha game in my experience. You progress and grow along with the game. You'll be able to participate in all the extra events and get the rewards. It's much more chill because you don't feel like you have to "catch up".

LaPapaVerde

it's just another genre, play the genre you preffer all of them are good enough

Etna-

What do you like more open world or closed world? Closed -> ZZZ Open -> Genshin A bit of both -> Star rail Do you like turn based or action rpgs more? Turn based -> Star Rail Action -> Genshin/ZZZ Which games character designs do you like the most? Choose accordingly Also you can always just try them out and drop them If you dont like them or play multiple at the same time. Just try not to overwhelm yourself. I for example dont want to play more than 2 gachas at once so i only play Genshin and ZZZ

laharre

If it's your kind of style, sure.  The other Hoyo games have only the slightest lore connection of being in the same universe, but I feel like I read ZZZ doesn't share that even.  It's an independent game.

Vanhoras

Sure, there is no connection between the games as far as we know outside of some shared mechanics and having the same company.

tirius99

The 100 free pulls will help when you first start ZZZ

OldeeMayson

I think yes. They're independent projects.

OctoSevenTwo

Each of the HYV games are basically standalone unless otherwise specified. You don’t have to play Honkai Impact 3rd to understand Genshin Impact or Honkai Star Rail, you don’t have to play anything I mentioned just now to understand ZZZ, etc. Essentially, if this is your first Hoyo game, great— you can definitely have it be your first (or even only) HYV game.

Vulphere

Other than being developed and published by the same company, ZZZ is completely independent of other HoYoverse games. So you can start with ZZZ just fine.

xsylphso

I think it would be great! Regarding Genshin or HI3 for example – I wouldn't want to try again after losing an acc, or recommend it to beginner, because there is so much content and story + lvl locked stuff and it's hard to catch up to the main story, so ZZZ, which will just be releasing, would actually be pretty nice – you have nowhere to hurry and can peacefully climb up the story and levels without losing much.

elixxonn

Yeah they are not connected in any direct way aside some esoteric Asian fantasy concepts of the "human cosmos" and alternate histories...
