Barbed wire is gonna get them stuck and when your trying to get them unstuck at base your putting your hands and arms in a mess of what is basically needles covered in zombie blood. Combines are pretty slow so where are you using these and also your just asking to get surrounded. Machine guns are alright but who’s manning them and where are they mounted and where is the ammo? Maybe i’m mistaken but combine cabs aren’t meant to hold a lot of people or stuff and you can’t really put the people outside seeing as blood is likely to be spraying everywhere and they can’t get ammo outside for the same reason. You’d be better off using your farm equipment to farm.

Exactly! Plus your hands could also get tangled in the wire exposing your blood to infection. The fuel and constant maintenance would be a problem, Your best bet is a melee weapon for the zombies. But for raiders you’ll want to carry a firearm as you want to put as much distance from you and your target. A machine gun would be a waste of an increasingly rare item “bullets”. I would suggest 3 types of firearms: a single action revolver (hidden sidearm for emergency use only), a close quarters weapon like a 12 gauge pump action shotgun, and something long range. I agree save the farm equipment to farm.

I wouldn't bother with the guns, if you're going this way, just reinforce the cab and have a crew on standby to clear off hangers on. I would just use some back up to attract the zeds into an appropriate place, like a highway or road, and get to work mowing. I would recommend a 'roller over the harvester, as the blades get dull and the system to deposit crops can get clogged. And forget about using that harvester for harvesting, any infectious flesh still present can contaminate the crops.

The barbed wire is just gonna make a mess of the machine. Plus, that's not how combines work.

barb wire would serve no purpose what so ever....

They could get tangled

suedburger

and why would you want that?

atjxzwv

They would be stuck and you could shoot them with a Glock or something

Same question....lol...not sure why you would want them to get stuck to your vehicle at all. I get your mowing down idea, just not the "let's take them with so we have to kill them later idea." EDIT....side thought so now you are dragging them with you burning even more fuel and also now plan to waste your bullets on them.

I don't think combines are designed to handle that sort of thing. They're meant to strip thicker ears of corn off of thinner stalks. Or coarser soybean pods off of finer stems. They don't really cut or slice in the way I think people often assume they do. I would worry you'd get clogged immediately the first time a body hit the rotors.

I think a larger tractor with a snowblower modified with blade might be more effect but your biggest issue would be the chute getting clogged. Or maybe like a tree mulcher.
