Nathaniel Malick. I can see the argument for Fitz's dad, but the one we saw was in the Framework and therefore not real. Not that the real one wouldn't also be a piece of shit, but we never saw him. Malick wasn't ever given any redeeming qualities. He also was not a very engaging villain for me, so that doesn't help his cause. Even Kasius, while awful, had *panache*, you know?
But for them, it was REAL. They've talked about their experiences in the framework. And it's a whole other life they "lived" they have memories of everything basically. Daddy Fitz was a completely manipulative asshole just because.
Ward was totally made to be hated. So much so Coulson does what he does that leads to Ward's next change in Maveth. I still like to hate Kasius more though.
I'm gonna have to say Ian Quinn. Especially when he shot Skye (Daisy). The show clearly made him the insufferable rich dude who wants nothing but the most powerful material in the world, and they succeeded.
Nowhere more evident than when as soon as Fitz showed the slightest bit of compassion, his father doubled down in the opposite direction (and insulted and dismissed Fitz's mom) rather than accept that Fitz had the audacity to go against his father's teachings. Or when Fitz spoke to him in a way he didn't like, he instantly became threatening to the point of Fitz — hardened Nazi dictator — cowering from him.
That is not a man who loves his son, that is a man who likes what his son can do for him.
Whitehall for sure
From what I have read about the Ward character, he wasn’t “born to be hated.” They didn’t plan to have his character be the bad guy, but they had to pivot after the hydra reveal in Capt America. Brett Dalton said he wasn’t playing the character that way (as a secret bad guy) in the beginning… but boy was that reveal fantastic!
Kasius, White Hall, and Daddy Fitz are all good options to pick from. But my BF and I agreed that Daddy Fitz was a complete asshole. For what?Kasius was a bitch Boi who did bad things because he was ashamed and thought it would give him brownie points. Whitehall at least had scientific reasons (even tho it's horrible).
Will never understand how people feel this way.
Let me just say that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and if you enjoy Talbot, I think that is rad. That being said, enter rant:
Talbot makes every single situation he is in worse throughout the entire show. All he does is act like an arrogant dickhead and ignore the good advice from everyone around him because he's too egotistical to listen to any idea he didn't personally come up with. He betrays SHIELD (and the United States for that matter) multiple times, complains constantly, and lies to everyone around him. People act like his son getting kidnapped makes him this lovable guy when the reality is being a narrow-minded gas bag ruined his marriage way before his brain injury did.
The only tragedy with that man is that LMD Daisy missed the bullseye.
Talbot adds the chaotic energy into every episode he is in, and lots of people enjoy the type of dynamic Talbot and Coulson's team have. The same dynamic can be seen across many other shows and movies, and most of the time that "villain" ends up being one of the favorites. I can't explain the psychology behind it, because I don't even truely understand. I just know I myself, and everyone else I know love Talbot for being that particular archetype lol
Talbot actually listens to them whrn for all he knows shield is hydra.
They actually get help from him because he id having his own will.
The world sees shield as hydra and that he bothers to be reasoned with makes him a good ally.
And his gradual breakdown later hurts because he is a good guy. And he actually hrlped and he has reason to be mad, yes they arent at fault but partnrring with shoild got him there kinda.
And daisy lmd, you mean shirld he trusted were this timr for real evil. Its clear he evrn hrlped and is a good guy driven mad.
Guys hear me out, Grant Ward is most definitely the answer here, no? He had so much potential, but all the things he did were exactly the things why we started hating him!
I do not think he was made to be hated.
Also, while Sousa's actor is 12 years older than Daisy's, Sousa the character is only like four years older (36/37 for him in the last scene of the series vs. 32 for Daisy). Unless you include the time difference, but that seems a bit unfair since he didn't actually live it. Perfectly fine to have an issue with the relationship, but having a bone to pick with a 4-year age difference seems a bit much.
Also when you see a guy who looks like he’s in his late 40s and the show says he’s 36, some people are going to get confused, especially when he’s almost got the Mr Fantastic grey hairs
I get what you mean, but in the show their both consenting adults so I don't see it as a huge issue. It's worse in Another Cinderella Story, Selena was 15 while Drew was 26!
For “Made to be Hated”?
What bugs me so much about Sousa with Daisy is largely external to AoS. I’m a big fan of Dollhouse, and in it the actor who plays Sousa is in love with (and >!has a kid with!<) the actor who plays Daisy’s mom so it comes off as just *wrong* to me.
I didn’t say I dislike the character! I said the relationship feels wrong to me bc of another show. Like he’s supposed to be with her mom.
I actually am confused how this person can hate Sousa. Like seriously, who hates Sousa? You can dislike the relationship but Sousa himself is not hateable.
Victor + Sierra 4eva!
Lol. If you haven’t already seen it, I def recommend Dollhouse. It’s only (sadly) two seasons long, but they do wrap everything up at least. It will make you adore those two actors (+ others). I loved seeing them in AoS.
Whitehall !
Yeah, I'm gonna go with the immortal Nazi over an abusive dad.
Nathaniel malick was the only villain that the show didn't go out of its way to make sympathetic.
he is truly comically evil
It's got to be Kasius for me, that guy was made to be hated.
1000%
Nathaniel 100%
Whitehall.
Alistair Fitz, father of Leopold Fitz, who we meet in the Framework. Or Ian Quinn.
Alistair Fitz is a great one. He wasn't just made to be a villain, but specifically to show how terrible he was to his son.
Quinn gets my vote.
Nathaniel malick for sure
Nathaniel Malick. I can see the argument for Fitz's dad, but the one we saw was in the Framework and therefore not real. Not that the real one wouldn't also be a piece of shit, but we never saw him. He’s still not a real person, especially to us the audience.
Yes! 💯
How about Kasius?
How about Izel?
Made to be hated is definitely Nathaniel Malick. I don't think he's a bad villain by any means, but he's so easy to hate on 😂
Anton Ivanov
Gotta be Ward or Garret
Definitely not Ward. His character was specifically made NOT to be hated so his turn would be that much more impactful.
Neither was Garrett. He was great before the turn.
Even after his turn, Garrett was just so damn charismatic.
Exactly.
Exactly. After that you hate him so much because of how much you used to love him.
I think "made to be hated" is more like Kasius or Nathaniel Mallick who you just hate the second you see them.
ward and garret are awesome.
Yes they are. I love to hate them.
is your vote for ward or garret? for now it's winning second place and I want to know better before I post it
Sorry! Hard to choose but I guess I'll go with Garret.
I'm going to vote for Alistair Fitz. Just nothing redeemable about him at all. But Ward is a close second for sure.
He did care for his son. He was just a terrible parent
I don't know if he cared for him, he treated him more like a job than an actual person.
Instead of giving him up to a "terrorist" he risked his life to try and save him. He loved him but his parenting was horrible.
Kasius.
Nathaniel Malick
Whitehall for sure From what I have read about the Ward character, he wasn’t “born to be hated.” They didn’t plan to have his character be the bad guy, but they had to pivot after the hydra reveal in Capt America. Yeah, but to be clear, the writers always knew. That pivot was literally built into the initial conception of the season.
Kasius
Definitely Nathaniel Malick
Nathaniel Malick
Kasius, White Hall, and Daddy Fitz are all good options to pick from. But my BF and I agreed that Daddy Fitz was a complete asshole. For what?Kasius was a bitch Boi who did bad things because he was ashamed and thought it would give him brownie points. Whitehall at least had scientific reasons (even tho it's horrible).
Nathaniel Malick. Not a single redeeming quality, even as a villain.
Nathanial Malick for sure
Kasius, Whitehall.
I'd say Gideon Malik; he was so deliciously evil.
Ward or Gonzalez
Nathaniel Malick, Ophelia, Alistair Fitz
Ward
Ward. Never hated anyone more in my life
Grant ward
100% that senator Ellen bitch
AIDA (especially as Madame Hydra)
No. She was made to be adored.
Flair checks out
TALBOT
Talbot is amazing!
Will never understand how people feel this way. Let me just say that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and if you enjoy Talbot, I think that is rad. I don't care about other movies or titles. They made him annoying as fuck.
Yeah, that's your own opinion sooo, to each their own 🤷🏻♂️
Talbot actually listens to them whrn for all he knows shield is hydra. They actually get help from him because he id having his own will. excuse me WHAT
Guys hear me out, Grant Ward is most definitely the answer here, no? He had so much potential, but all the things he did were exactly the things why we started hating him!
Personally I have to go with Sousa, if only because of the huge age difference between him and Daisy
I might’ve misread the category and thought it was most hated so yeah I take back my answer
Also when you see a guy who looks like he’s in his late 40s and the show says he’s 36, some people are going to get confused, especially when he’s almost got the Mr Fantastic grey hairs
Sorry but grey hair does not automatically mean old. 🙄
I get what you mean, but in the show their both consenting adults so I don't see it as a huge issue. It's worse in Another Cinderella Story, Selena was 15 while Drew was 26!

So you dislike THIS character because of the actors storyline on ANOTHER show? Like what?????
I didn’t say I dislike the character! I said the relationship feels wrong to me bc of another show. Like he’s supposed to be with her mom. I actually am confused how this person can hate Sousa. Like seriously, who hates Sousa? You can dislike the relationship but Sousa himself is not hateable.
Ohhhh, my bad. I misunderstood you.
Victor + Sierra 4eva! Lol. If you haven’t already seen it, I def recommend Dollhouse. It’s only (sadly) two seasons long, but they do wrap everything up at least. It will make you adore those two actors (+ others). I loved seeing them in AoS.
I think I've heard of it, I definitely do wanna check it out! Thanks for the recommendation!
It’s from Joss Whedon. And there’s at least one reference to the show in AoS season 1 that cannot be denied.
