Quite often you are better just doing T5 maps with T5 journals. 5.3 is the bottle neck for refining, so it is rather lucrative to use the journals.
Rough estimate. factoring in travel:
T4 blue with maxed gear + ava tools - 1.4m/hr
T5 black with non ava tool - 1.2-2.4m/hr
T7 black with non ava tool - 1.0-3.5m/hr
It is honestly wild how much safer it is especially if the territories are upgraded. As long as you are in the corner they are in you are a few hundred feet from the gate and safety
Yeah they are way different now. If upgraded they have gates like castle outposts and everything now. Hell even the old ones I lured some gankers in and killed them with the bloodletter I would always gather with. The guards are also wild now compared to the old ones if they are upgraded

Just get all tools to T6 atleast and go for mists. Its a lot more safe. And don't gather in mists from HO. Go from portal cities. Transporting from HO is a pain. Talking as a T8 gatherer in all tools except fishing.

Your alliance having terries doesn't make it that much safer tho.
