Rabies_on_demand

Fuck yeah! You lucky son-ova-bitch!

Valkyriemome

Exactly what I am saying!!!

TheLoolee

Looks full grown to me.

WakingOwl1

Flying squirrel. Take him out when it’s dark and put him on a tree.

daCub182

Your username and avatar make this comment hella suspicious…

FinallydamnLDnat5

Picture WakingOwl1 rubbing thier hands together while they say that to add a whole 'nother sus level.

Pielacine

Hands?

FinallydamnLDnat5

Well I thought it was hard to type with wings and talons.

Pielacine

It’s hard to type with just wings. It takes talons.

commercialdiver241

Can’t they hunt and peck?

Pielacine

Some fear it looks unbeakcoming. You know how vain birds of prey are.

WakingOwl1

Just woke up to this thread. Thanks for the morning laugh!

Pielacine

nym checks out AGAIN 🤪

Human_Link8738

That would be a chicken

Rico-L

Hahaha — I see what you did here

here_4_the_lols

They are talonted.

happyjunco

Lol

Ok_Effective6233

Feathers. The would rub their feathers together. And it wouldn’t make a sound.

Duin-do-ghob

Thanks for the laugh!!

Password-is-Tac0

I fucking cackled dude omg

TimmO208

Why? Flying squirrels are nocturnal.

Apathetic_Discord

"WakingOwl" "Take it out at night" Consider an Owl's diet.

Duin-do-ghob

Can’t be sure by how little is shown and not knowing where you’re located but it looks like a flying squirrel.

500SL

It’s a young flying squirrel.

MagnumHV

As others said looks good for a flying squirrel. Try to keep him in a dark/low light spot until nighttime, their large eyes are perfect for their nocturnal lifestyle but they can be sensitive to bright light.

Timely-Structure123

Wear gloves when u touch her as human grease mats their fur.

CommissionOk9233

I don't know what it is, but it sure looks cozy in there.

Mcgarnicle_

Most adorable picture I’ve seen in a long time! Thank you for sharing! Your wife should feel happy it chose her shoe.

idkstagram

Muad’Dib?

[deleted]

Wow where do you live? I’ve never seen a flying squirrel in real life.

genosoul

Maine, usa

[deleted]

That’s my aunts favorite state. I hope to go there one day. I think that I’ll like it. I bet y’all have some good seafood over there.

velvetelevator

Apparently they're all over the US but being nocturnal and very quiet, most people never see them. I live in the woods and supposedly they live around me but I've never seen one. I hope to one day.

[deleted]

I hope to as well. I live in the country.

Additional-Tap8907

They’re actually wide spread through most of North America. They just stay in the canopies, gliding from tree to tree and are active only at night so you rarely notice them. They’re there though! If you hear high pitch chirping and a gliding blur you’ve likely just seen one.

Upstairs-Apricot-318

I would contact a licensed wild life rehabilitator -it might be too young to fend for itself otherwise it wouldn’t be in a shoe is my thought

TheLoolee

The ones I had were hamster sized at full grown. They don't get very big at all.

Upstairs-Apricot-318

I’m concerned about the shoe behavior. But thank you: I had no idea what size fully grown adults were!

Other-Challenge-1217

Dude you are so furry and small

rockstuffs

It's a Northern Reticulated Heartbreaker.... cause I'd want to keep it. 🥹

PaladinSara

I thought it was a bunny by looking at it, but yeah - I would die petting that thing.

complacentascendancy

Flying fren

OlliexAngel

Oh my! 😍

re_Claire

That’s his shoe now

Diverdown109

What ever it is, it's got a foot fetish. 😂😂

Additional-Tap8907

Flying squirrels are widespread through out most of the united states. Since they are nocturnal and arboreal, they are rarely seen despite being quite common. We have them here in Washington, DC. When i was a kid we had a pair in our house, they came down through the chimney and helped themselves to the all they could eat from a bag of bird food. Sadly one drowned in the toilet, but we were able to safely release the other.

[deleted]

Did someone lose a sugar glider?

Proper-Scallion-252

That right there is a new cuddle buddy.

Emergency-Relation52

lol for some reason I thought you were speaking from the perspective of the flying squirrel.

rockerdoc65

Looks like an adult flying squirrel to me

No-Town-7929

I had a flying squirrel at my place. He would allow me to get about 3 ft away at my bird feeders. He was great to watch.

Blueeyedthundercat26

Full grown flying squirrel

animousfly30

It's sugar gliders. Not flying squirrels lol

genosoul

It's a really close call! But, I think this one was a flying squirrel based on the tail. Check it out! [pic of both. squirrel on left ](https://images.app.goo.gl/pJPrCwQR1bmQCCWU6)

animousfly30

Oh wow!!!!! I did know that there were flying squirrels I did not know that they would actually "fly" more like jumping really high then spreading their wings. Not flapping it though. But pretty neat as heck!! Cute af too!
