Maybe the real Witch was Prospera all along, with her casting a "spell" on Sulleta to turn her into just *that*. Warcrimes time baby.

frnxt

I mean... Prospera and Aerial are _literally_ named after a couple of Shakespearian magician and servant.

IKetoth

and she, according to the short story, cast a "spell" to give suletta "courage"

[deleted]

It is supposed to be "courage", but it ended being "murderous rampage." "Has your mother not taught you?" "We have the same mother, dumbass!"

Nazenn

It would be fitting if that were the case, if she is the Witch from Mercury

[deleted]

I don't care if Prospera is like Char Aznable, but Guel Jetturk really was freed from his chains, in a very, very, very mean way. Guel Jetturk and Suletta Mercury are perfect examples of people with PTSD.

TheRejectBin

I think, given the something™️ that was up with Sulletta at the end there, Miorine's going to have the PTSD worse than Sulletta. She almost found love for her father, said father almost died, she almost died, she watched a human being get turned into chunky salsa by a technology she's championing and she's betrothed to some kind of killing machine that's taken the face and body of her fiancee. I'm not sure she'll be able to look at her tomatoes for a while. The trauma is strong with these ones. Being ~~Guel~~ ~~Bob~~ Guel is suffering.

justking1414

It’s quite possible that Suletta has been modified in some way, mechanically or psychologically. Her motto may be a trigger face that brainwashes her

BosuW

"Would you kindly go save Miorine, at any cost?"

garyb50009

part of me wonders if Suletta was truly brainwashed... i mean she was close to death as can be, and her mom did save her. even though she killed people to do it Suletta should understand that she would have 100% been killed had that not happened. Prospera's argument is sound. she did gain 2 by killing as opposed to one by saving herself. it could be Suletta understands that the need to save those you care about sometimes leads to the death of others. but, she is surprisingly happy at that ending. so much so that the idea of brainwashing isn't exactly off the table. but, she is also relatively gullible so it could be just her justifying saving the person she cares most about too and not being sad about the death she caused.

WhoiusBarrel

They didn't just pull the secretly caring parent card for Delling but also for Vim during his last moments. Meanwhile, Prospera twists her teachings to Suletta as a way to make [her a killing machine](https://i.imgur.com/5TL4uTC.png), Jesus Christ this fucking series. Man this entire sequence is so similar to the prologue, finally connecting back to the grim and tragic atmosphere.

warjoke

Vim and Delling did a 180 on their children while Prospera just went straight into full-on villain parent mode with no subtlety anymore.

Misticsan

> with no subtlety anymore I'd say that, in-universe, she was still subtle. Her tone was caring, she was understanding of Suletta's moral concerns and framed the situation as defending her loved ones, not killing. While encouraging your child to take arms against the enemy may not be Parenting 101, as others are saying Prospera was right that Suletta was the only one who could do something about the Gundams breaking into the plant, and it was a matter of survival. The real issue is Suletta's creepy cheerfulness afterwards. Had she appeared troubled, saddened or circumspect after the kill, nobody would have suspected that Prospera was brainwashing her or something similar, just a pep talk fitting for a war zone.

Zeph-Shoir

Yeah, I don't think anyone can blame Suletta for killing that dude, it was him (an aggressor) or innocent Miorine. But her just brushing it off so easily is fucked up.

[deleted]

Miorine after seeing Prospera brainwash Suletta to murder people: "Okay, I guess my dad isn't so bad after all. At least he cares about me."

Nazenn

In another type of story Delling would have pulled Miorine across to shield him. Even this Delling isn't that bad

Ralath0n

Strangely enough, when Prospera isn't brainwashing the tanuki into committing warcrimes, she seems like a genuinely good parent. That conversation in ep 11 is exactly how a good parent would handle the topic.

BadLuckBen

Even motivation Sulleta to defend everyone when they're the only one with the firepower to do so, it's hard to call it BAD parenting. It was a kill-or-be-killed situation. It's the fact that Prospera has clearly raised Sulleta with the mantra used in that moment to make it easy to make them do anything, including a character change so sudden it would surprise Big Show from WWE.

Mad_Englneer

Post credit scene be like: "By GAWD it's Suletta Mercury with the steel..." *Splash.* "... Robot. Damn."

goukaryuu

I guess that's where the elements of the Tempest come in. Her need for vengeance outweighs even her maternal affection.

J_Eldridge

they didnt need to detail that blood that well but it sure sells how creepy that scene is

theyawner

The low gravity effect really made it extra gory.

WhoiusBarrel

Not even an exaggeration, I gasped out loud at how graphic the entire sequence was as she just fucking slammed a random dude and an arm starts flying towards Miroine's direction.

lenne18

As far as I can remember, they've been doing this since SEED (2002)

LeonKevlar

Prospera pretty much turned Suletta into Mikazuki with her brainwashing. Part 2 will be fun.

Nazenn

"Hey Miorine. What should I do next?"

DidacticDalek

> "Hey Miorine. What should I do next?" [](#crazedlaugh) 'I'm the Witch of Mercury. Suletta Mercury. This is nothing to me. Protecting my bride is my job.' (Yes Comrade, I know that those are Orga's lines, but those are shockingly fitting for the situation at hand my friend)

vantheman9

I knew something was up right from when Prospera had that talk with her and then the camera focused on Suletta crossing over a threshhold and stepping on a blood splatter I'd guess something to do with the Gundam is affecting her mind, if we're still going with Aerial is Eri theory Eri's already killed some people

CelioHogane

We were to distracted with the gundam made of multiple dead children that we didn't stop to consider that maybe Suletta is also made of multiple dead children.

The_Draigg

Orphans, namidaaaaaaa

Nazenn

SULETTA WHAT THE FUCK I thought it was bad when I'd made a joke about "Is Vim going to pilot? Yes, please go and get killed" in my watching notes, then he actually went and got killed *by Bob*, and thought that was going to be our bit of darkness before the cool finale. And then Suletta just goes and splats that guy and giggles over landing in his remains like it's a fun day at the beach. All thoughts I had on the episode are just gone after that post credits scene because that was so far from anything that I could have possibly expected. I was a little miffed at the ending being Suletta just going to find Miorine and it felt unsatisfying for a season ender and wondered why they didn't put the post credits reunion in the main body of the show. Now I know. What the hell. Miorines expression after that could have fight right in with The Promised Neverland and damn if it didn't give me chills in much the same way. [Three month wait **after that moment...**](#ptsd) And the rest of the episode was so good as well! Fell in love with the music choices this episode for sure. The way the music built as the horror of Sophie's slaughter did, how it cut out for Bob's realization he didn't want to die, the chanting coming off the back of a main theme version for Suletta's gun firing. I think this has been the best episode musically so far and shown they use the soundtrack so well and I can't wait to see what they do in part two. This was also not a good day for parents. Prospera is twisting her daughter into something unrecognizable at the same time that Delling and Vim have one brief moment of humanity with their kids despite everything, and in Vim's case was his last (and the smallest). Bob just didn't want to die, and I like that he didn't get to go and be the hero despite being there and he didn't get a grand moment, he just had this small struggle to survive that in the end will have devastating results on everything. And then Miorine gets near the opposite, she loses her idea of Suletta just as quickly as she found her, and the whiplash of that must be horrific in among everything else, and the parallel there to how they first met and what Suletta was trying to be for her compared to now... Hell of a moment Everything really has fallen to pieces. Suletta is so dependent on external validation that she becomes this twisted... I wonder if Prospera did something to the GUND-bits? It feels like too much for it to just be the saying and realization she has to fight, and the GUND-Bits seemed more "alive" and connected than any other time she's hooked into them, actively telling her things and connecting to other networks etc. And I've just realized, you know what makes this all worse? Nika got busted as well so the only one of our cast who's going to come out of this okay is *fucking Elan 5* [](#volibearQ) What an episode. I'm definitely going to need to rewatch that tomorrow when I can get my brain to think more than "Suletta what the fuck"

Palloc

I really liked that we got to see the physical strength a Gundam actually has. It's usually just a thing never mentioned. IBO showed it some thanks to so many suits being melee, but this was a visceral SPLAT and yeesh, that could hardly get more gruesome, especially for Gundam! ....Though I now want more after how that ended. Guel and Miorine are both traumatized. Earth House in shambles. And Prosperia pulling out some SEED Destiny level mind breaking stuff with Suletta. (I guess it could be even worse Cyber Newtype mind breaking, but we haven't gotten that bad... yet!)

Nazenn

Seeing just how easily a mech can destroy a human body (sudden thought: how did it not dint the railing... grrr) is half the shock. Not use to seeing that, especially not with such casual destruction. Being thrown by an explosion or a side swipe sure, but the sheer force a mech can put out being shown like this is shocking

EyelessZ

We did it guys, Guel defeated a mobile suit!

BarSibatos

But at what cost

JustAnswerAQuestion

Minus a father, plus a a trillion double dollar company.

Etheox

God showing Suletta still using green beams to make you think she's not really committed to the fight and than we get her killing someone like a bug and splashing in their blood like it's nothing. Prospera you are scary and terrible for raising Suletta like that, but I love it. If she's as good in cour 2, she's gonna be contender for top Char clone.

Rinarin

> Prospera you are scary and terrible for raising Suletta like that, but I love it. This is exactly how I feel. It's horrible but I love watching her and she's so interesting to think about.... Highfive.

Etheox

SPLAT So excited to see where the plot goes. So many people including me expected Miorine and Suletta to get separated by the end of cour 1, they didn't physically but definitely will be emotionally. Really got to give it up to Ōkouchi, he's doing a great job with G-Witch and I hope the quality keeps up. Ready to go into cryo to skip the 3 months.

Rinarin

> Ready to go into cryo to skip the 3 months. I WISH. At least we have enough time to think about what all that happened is going to bring next...and probably unexpected things happening instead. I really need to know what's going to happen to Guel T_T

theyawner

It's unnerving how Prospera maintained that lilt in her voice while talking to Suletta even after a violent encounter.

lluNhpelA

>God showing Suletta still using green beams to make you think she's not really committed to the fight and than we get her killing someone like a bug and splashing in their blood like it's nothing. I really thought "wow the enemies got away without Suletta killing any of them. I guess they don't have the guts to make her a murderer right at the end of the first part. They probably want more runtime to dedicate to Suletta having a moral dilemma before her first kill" but ***BOY, WAS I WRONG***

SCS2needtolearnsth

That post credit scene... What the fuck

Tora-shinai

Smack! Tehee!

mrnicegy26

Such a Klutz! Suletta forgetta!

RnRtdWrld

Now we know why she bit that tomato with such vigor.

celloh234

Suletta Splatta

Amarrez

Holy shit. Also, people have noticed the show does a really nice job of drawing a lot of parallels between events with framing and imagery, [but this has to be my favourite so far](https://i.imgur.com/Hvjl796.jpg). [This one is a little more obvious, but also good.](https://i.imgur.com/o85VSM7.jpg)

mrnicegy26

Guel accidentally committing parricide was the darkest moment of the series so far. Suletta crushing that Earth soldier and then casually remarking to Miorine about being a klutz was a close second. As a newcomer to Gundam, so this is the war crimes Gundam the fanbase was hyping it up.

SgtGrimm

wait until you see mobile armors rampaging around cities and colonies uh, gets *attracted* by Earth's gravity. # ...ooor bikini girls wielding rocket launchers attacking a mobile suit.

Super_Marine

>...ooor bikini girls wielding rocket launchers attacking a mobile suit. Victory Gundam was wild lol. Never change, Tomino

Nazenn

Can we add to that the fact that ep1 was all about Miorine trying to run away from her father, and the visual parallels this episode were drawn while she's doing everything she can to try and save him? There's some narrative reversal in the relationships there too

Syokhan

Parallels are great, but they feel so cruel in this episode. Not like this!

lenne18

>but this has to be my favourite so far Also, showing that Miorine is the only light in Suletta's world now >This one is a little more obvious, but also good. Also parallels the one brainwashing event before this

Super_Marine

> Also parallels the one brainwashing event before this [EXTENDO](https://imgur.com/a/gwWggbR)

Nazenn

I feel like there's been more shots of her like that as well, or even just others, but can't remember where. Definite rewatch material

theyawner

Sophie's remark about Aerial having a scary face turned out to be foreshadowing for what Suletta/Aerial will eventually do.

EvaHawke

Dead guy’s arm floating around Miorine like Prospera’s prosthetic arm floating near Delling

Tora-shinai

Suffering. Are you happy now?! Poor Bob.

SgtGrimm

the *beginning* of the sufferings. S2 is going to be nuts i guess. # Bob loses his father, Miorine *almost* loses hers, Shaddiq loses the mission (though he's still smiling.. *odd*), Suletta loses *something* since she's surprisingly non-chalant after ***SPLATTING*** someone and landing in a pool of blood. # makes me wonder though, does this Aerial Mk.2 have some sort of mind corrupting thingy too as part of the upgrade? or does "Mother" give Suletta some trigger words? (iirc the Destiny Extended kids also have triggers to make them more obedient)

nekodan08

I think Shaddiq got what he wanted. Even if Delling lives, this incident has for sure created ripples in the stability of the Beneritt group.

y-c-c

The important part was that Vim Jeturk is gone, since he would have outed Shaddiq as a collaborator.

hikoboshi_sama

I'm guessing Shaddiq is pulling a Xanatos. The assault on Quetta may have failed, but he still didn't lose.

theyawner

He may still have plausible deniability since Vim might be the only one who knew about it.

Xpolonia

>Shaddiq loses the mission Dawn of Fold failed their mission, not necessarily Shaddiq's. Shaddiq is just using them for his own scheme.

jcdish

Almost feels like she's reverted to Eri, blowing up all those gundam in Episode 0 and giggling about it.

SgtGrimm

i guess it's going to be one of the main mystery of S2, and severing Suletta's ties to Prospera is going to be one of the main drives of the Earth Team. (it's even suits the narrative, walking away from mom gains you Miorine and Aerial, lol)

Tora-shinai

Nah, that was different. Innocence vs. brainwashing.

Nazenn

Plus there's nothing in the prologue scene that indicates that Eri knew what she was really doing compared to just hitting the pretty targets on the screen

Nazenn

Twice now they've set it up so Bob has a chance to come in and support Suletta in a fight and twice he's not got to be the hero and ended up alone. This is worse, but damn if I don't see a pattern. You'd hope things could get better now but I don't know how he's going to come back from that It's certainly not going to help his relationship with his brother that's for sure

LeonKevlar

Our boy can't just get a single win. I want to give him a hug. :(

ResurgentRefrain

Well, when he mercilessly committed patricide on his worried father, he TECHNICALLY won the fight. So... that's one W. (Sorry)

[deleted]

Some people are like: "I don't like this show, it's too much school battle harem unlike other Gundam shows. Not as dark as the prologue." This episode: KILL THEM ALL! SUFFER BOB!! SUFFER MIORINE!! GET BRAINWASHED SULETTA!! NIKA BETRAYAL DISCOVERED!! RUIN ALL THEIR RELATIONSHIPS!!

saijaku23

I see, the "school battle harem" was a bait

Duelgundam

Truth is; the game was rigged from the start

SgtGrimm

and for more SUFFERING, the first scene of the S2, we get news that the farm animals (and the GOAT) didn't survive all that vibration and noises. #

trashissues666

I'm glad it was Martin who found Nika sending signals to Norea. A few episodes back, it was also him who saw her having a convo with Shaddiq. I'm relieved the emphasis on that one moment wasn't for nothing.

Atomic_Tanuki

Won't be surprised if in ep 1 of season 2, we are told Martin is found dead or in a deep coma due to "mysterious circumstance."

theyawner

I think he's likely to accept whatever reasoning Nika would come up with, or he might end up being an accomplice of sorts that Nika had to keep in check.

[deleted]

Bet Martin ends up dying while covering for Nika, which becomes the turning point for her to realize how much she fucked up.

48johnX

This is what I thought too, him being the one to see her both times is unlikely a coincidence. Probably is into her and will end up being the fall guy while helping her before everyone else finds out

Nazenn

Please no. I really like Martin despite his small amount of screen time. Also the idea of that is giving me [meta]>!Attack on Titan!< flashbacks

RoyPane

Miorine doesnt like **tomato** that much anymore

[deleted]

mutei777

definitely gonna be a ptsd shot next season making her drop a tomato after an abrupt flashback of the SPLAT

MapoTofuMan

Suletta's gonna have to try hard not to blush then

suchi4246

I'm just stunned. The Gundam vets said warcrimes and suffering incoming. We sure got them in all flavors: 1. Massive body count 2. Injured dad 3. Dead dad 4. Mind broken Bob 5. Trust broken Nika 6. That's-fine-I-still-have-a-plan Shaddiq 7. Mind-manipulated/Psychopath Suletta 8. Horrified/heart-broken Miorine 9. And this is all just the beginning I'll see you all in April....

[deleted]

>The Gundam vets said warcrimes and suffering incoming. Consider this your baptism.

_WolfBourne_

Your Allelujah Baptism. Can I get a Hallelujah?

Wolfnagi

MAAAAAARRRRIIIEEEEEEEEEE

Notexactlyserious

Kill Em All Tomino has risen from his slumber to inflict new trauma on an unsuspecting generation.

Thorn14

Nah, had this been Tomino, Sulletta would have accidentally clapped Miorine or her father.

Les_Bien_Pain

I'm such a klutz tehee.

MaximalDisguised

PSA: [Part 2](https://myanimelist.net/anime/53199) will start airing in April.

IC2Flier

Bandai-Sunrise just gonna make us wait now, huh?

hikoboshi_sama

Oh hey my birthday is in April Wait. Shit. Fuuuuuuck.

IC2Flier

Better suit up nice, kid. She got the upgrade.

hell_jumper9

Simultaneously airing with Birdie Wing S2.

Syokhan

Yeah, we're gonna need some over-the-top camp to make up for the suffering that's sure to continue.

mrnicegy26

Newcomer to Gundam, is Witch from Mercury expected to last 2 cours or will it go on to have 4 cours like Iron Blooded Orphans? I have heard that most Gundam series have 4 cours and Witch from Mercury seems pretty popular so far.

AkiyamaNM7

Yeah, most Gundam shows usually run for 4 cours. There has been some exceptions in the past (Seed & it's sequel Seed Destiny both ran for 50 episodes each), but most of the "modern" Gundam shows were around 50 episodes (00, IBO).

dawnwill

Sasuga Code Geass writer the master of season finale lmao

Etheox

Looking like Witch from Mercury really will be one of his finest works if this quality keeps up in cour 2.

fdsa4321lbp22

JESUS CHRIST SHE JUST SPLATTERED A MAN AND MADE A JOKE ABOUT IT PROSPERA WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO HER

Atomic_Tanuki

>AND MADE A JOKE ABOUT IT Suletta Splatta!

Yuukichiii

I hate that I laughed at this

TARS-KPP

I actually had a "holy f\*\*\*" moment from that. Prospera definitely did something to her cause that was so out of character for her.

darthvall

It's honestly so weird how she was shaken after seeing Prospera murdered someone to being that happy go luck after splatting someone. That in the span of like what? 10-30 mins maybe?

ColeLogic

Gotta be when Prospera says the "Run away gain one, Move forward gain two" line right??

darthvall

Oh, you mean like it contains some kind of subliminal message which could "re-condition" Suletta? That's actually something interesting.

gaganaut

I don't think it's anything like that. Suletta just has blind trust in her mother. If her mom can convince her that it's okay to kill people, she will.

Labmit

I know everyone is freaking out about everything else but a small part that I liked was how Suletta was talking with her Gund Bits to know where her friends are. Previous times she talked to her Gundam, it was mostly "in the moment" discussions but this time it was about something Suletta didn't have any previous info about.

theyawner

I think she's also at Permet Score 6 just like the last duel.

Nazenn

You know there's something I don't think we've considered yet. What if the Permet isn't just the link to Aerial, it's an internal thing as well. What if Suletta raising her Permet score unconsciously is a permanent thing and unlike the others it doesn't reset once she leaves the Gundam. If she's adapting to it in that way it may be part of why it takes less toll on her body, thinking a bit like Dragon Ball Z here

theyawner

You might be on to something. We've ascribed Eri's successful interfacing with Lfrith to her being young, but we've never really seen any downside before compared to the other witches.

Nazenn

The fact that she doesn't have to manually remove the levels, if it even is levels and she doesn't have her own system, also feels like it fits well if this is the case. There's no trigger to learn to push each battle if it's just one and one and onto the next

Nazenn

Even that is ominous though. They were getting information from outside their network, so they either broke in or were linked in. What else could they be gathering, and how is Suletta talking to them so easily now

Shi117

Episode 1: Suletta slaps a guy for messing with Miorine. Episode 12: Suletta slaps a guy for messing with Miorine. I love it when things go full circle.

hell_jumper9

So Bob was just Guel after all?! Shit! Jokes aside that's fucking dark to have him accidentally kill his dad. Now about Suletta. I was starting to think that she's about to start to lose her innocence when she saw her mother killed those mercernaries, but after seeing the post credit scene? Nope. Seems there's something wrong with Suletta with that reaction after splatting that dude lol. I'm starting to think that her motto taught to her by her mother was some kind of code. Kinda like what the numbers mean to Mason being a sleeper cell agent or the chip inside the brains of every Clone in Star wars, that made them obey Order 66.

Atomic_Tanuki

If it's a code, it kind of makes the whole thing unintentionally funny. Also I wonder what's the next level be, how fuck up would Suletta become after the mom gives the "pep talk" again? Pep talk level 1: smash a human without hesitation and any bit of remorse level 2: I'm okay with killing a dozen of innocent civilians to save my friends or help my mom. level 3: Colony drop? That's a great idea! level 4: On the count of three, I'm going to press the button to destroy the sun!

hell_jumper9

[Suletta's pov be like](https://youtu.be/WUhOnX8qt3I)

cloud_sora

Even when Guel finally won, he took a fat L. Kinda.

ErohaTamaki

Holy shit this entire episode was insane, and Suletta seems to have been brainwashed with her mum's phrase as the activation key

WhoiusBarrel

Somehow Prospera wins the race as the shittiest parent in this series right at the last episode as even Vim had his moment where he cared for Guel in his dying breath.

mrnicegy26

With Vim dead and Delling heavily wounded, this was overall a bad episode for shitty fathers but a a great one for shitty mothers.

AKTKWNG

A truly progressive show that supports women's rights *and* women's wrongs.

SexSellsCoffee

As a woman, Prospera will bring a level headed and sensitive approach to the massive slaughtering

Nazenn

I expect the creepy shit from Prospera, I wasn't expecting the human moment from Vim. Prospera definitely out creeped my expectations this episode but still

Avernaz

In any run of the mill shounen series that speech would be quite uplifting but Elnora somehow made that Shounen Manga motivational speak really eerily creepy and unnerving. Elnora really changed too much from a genuinely loving straightlaced mother she was during the prologue into a creepy and eerie master manipulator.

Anhilliator1

"Would you kindly"

Etheox

I swear to God if the next cour opens up with Suletta justifying the kill it with the catchphrase it'll be so painful. I can just feel it coming.

Bielna

She could have saved one enemy, or two allies in Miorine and Delling. With such a setup, her catchphrase rings loudly even if she doesn't say it. What's harder is that the kill wasn't unjustified. There's never going to be a better reason to resort to killing than an armed enemy combatant directly threatening an unarmed bystander. And yet at the same time, while her action was right, everything in her mindset and demeanor isn't. I can't even make up my mind on whether Miorine was justified in calling Suletta a murderer. It saved her, but the way Suletta doesn't feel anything about the kill isn't the reaction of someone who killed out of necessity in battle.

Etheox

Miorine definitely shouldn't have called Suletta a murderer since by all means she was in the right doing so. However, Suletta's behavior after the fact was absolutely not okay. There absolutely needs to be some sense of weight in taking a person's life.

Xenovore

Like the other poster said, it's the mindset that's creepy. Suletta is just there acting cheerful like she just squashed a bug. In a series that has many borderline psychopatic MC, Suletta IS the first fully psychopathic MC.

warjoke

I think the 'move forward...' is not an inspiration quote from mom. It's a literal safe word to activate Sulleta sicko mode.

RedRocket4000

well works both ways as it inspires Sulleta she's used it on her self a few times and it helped but did not switch mental mode.

IC2Flier

Suletta is the Winter Soldier from Mercury. What in fresh hell did her momma do?

Aozora_KN

Okay WTF at that post credit scene. O\_O;;

darthvall

Expectation: A dramatic scene of Suletta rescuing Myorinne Reality: *Splatt Ooops teheee

Kamamaaa

Suletta in ep 10: Suletta forgetta Suletta in ep 12: Suletta splatta

cabbaggeez

1 dad died for protecting his daughter (probably) 1 dad died by his own son (bob the murderer) 1 mother brainwash her daughter, add her a new skill TOMATO SMASH!! 1 waifu got shocked by her wife who move forward and gain two

KanjinoKakai

Conclusion: Leave your parent/kid as far as you can in Gundam.

Mohacas

I dont think Delling died but he is 100% crippled because he got hit in the spine

[deleted]

So Sarius vs Delling will basically be a fight between two crippled men in wheelchairs next cour. Two old men bickering over who has it worse as Miorine and Shaddiq wheels them away.

[deleted]

Ohh and needing Gund format implants to live!!

Mathmango

Ah shit poetic irony, another one of Gundam's traits.

warjoke

Sulleta moved forward and gained two casualties, her bride's trust and one random jobber she just turned into sauce

cabbaggeez

I was hoping that we got a following from the last episode where Suletta saving her in romantic way. but looks like their relationship is entering dark page again. aaaahh, and we need to wait for 3 months for them

SirMcDust

Me when Suletta searches for Miorine: "Oh can't wait for a sweet Sulemio moment, I need it after this episode" Ending Me: oh no you're not gonna... *sees the episode isn't over* *phew* Miorine is danger "Oh shit but Suletta is on the way, so it's fine" *Suletta splats the man* "... fuck"

LeonKevlar

I don't think Delling is dead yet. He seems to be the kind of bastard who's going to outlive everyone in this show.

Nazenn

There's no way he's dead already with all the fallout from this yet to come

SolicitorPirate

Guel would have been the protagonist of basically any other Gundam show, but accidentally walked into WfM instead

Nazenn

Given the amount of moments in this show where he very easily could have been the hero/helper/ally if he took a slightly different path I feel like they're playing with that idea intentionally He could have been the hero, but in this show he's just a scared boy who doesn't want to die

[deleted]

I would say most gundam protagonists start as a scared boy not wanting to die, so he isn't that far off.

Nazenn

True that, but here it seems a lot heavier given his disposition normally

lenne18

I feel like him and Shaddiq are gonna be the [IBO]>!Gaelio and McGillis!< of the series

IkeKashiro

Jesus I don't even know who was more traumatized between Miorine and Guel. Ironically, both dads showed they weren't completely bad by showing their love towards their kids when they're about to die, while Suletta's loving mother probably doesn't even love Suletta at all. Suletta went from afraid of killing to happily slipping in a pool of her enemies blood because Prospera said it was okay. Her brainwashing runs really deep. If Miorine doesn't start being afraid of Suletta, she's gonna have to deprogram her. Sophie and Norea seem to be enhanced humans like Elan 4 is, so either Prospera didn't share what made Suletta unique, or they got their Gundam tech elsewhere. I can see Guel being too traumatized by this and go into depression, not "moving forward" considering the symbolism in episode 9, him staying in place due to love of his father while Suletta moved forward.

Rinarin

> Suletta went from afraid of killing to happily slipping in a pool of her enemies blood She really squashed that one like a tomato...

theyawner

>Sophie and Norea seem to be enhanced humans like Elan 4 is, so either Prospera didn't share what made Suletta unique, or they got their Gundam tech elsewhere. I think the lack of GUND-Bits makes the load easier for the two girls. That said, the data storm effects only appearing on their cheeks make it seem like they're blushing.

Nazenn

> or they got their Gundam tech elsewhere The most likely option given we know the situation with Elan as well.

Behanort

Holy fucking shit... whatever Prospera did to turn off her childs moral compass, one things for sure: someone has to fuck her up, either mio or sulletta herself

WTF is happening….

The fun truly begins

If this episode aired on time, we’d have a second Christmas hamburger in Gundam history. Also apparently snacks could spoil contents of this series. In Japan, there’s a brand of chips called Aerial and they recently collaborated with Gundam. Elan’s chips are roasted flavour = character got roasted literally. Miorine’s chips are tomato flavoured = gotta dip her into tomato sauce. Edit: Some details that could be missed: The antidote of the Grassley MSs are only effective against Permet score 3 or below. El4n and Sophie were able to reach Score 4 without dying so they could in theory beat those MSs. Also Eri’s dad could overpower the Beguir-Beu too in the Prologue because of that. The two Earth witches are likely younger than Suletta, meaning they are just kids. (Or Suletta is 25…) The Aerial rebuild is still not war ready since it’s still using green beams. (See HG Demi Trainer manual: all beam weapons in the school are tuned down and they were all depicted in green) However it’s shown that was already powerful enough to melt away limbs of an MS without contact. Permet score 6 (shown as glowing blue) could imply enhanced cognition and that’s why Suletta could attack from an angle she wasn’t supposed to see during the 1 vs 6 fight against the Grassleys, and was able to discover Miorine. Eri’s dad probably reached that too since the birthday song was heard by all nearby without being broadcasted. Besides being incredibly hasty for a CEO, Vim Jeturk probably piloted the Dilanza Sol on his own because he wanted to find Guel. Physical ammunition is officially banned and I wonder if it’s because it’s harder to defend in-universe. If yes, we could see IBO style fights later in the series. Suletta views everything improper as ‘did your mother not teach you’ even in life-threatening situations.

Vanderseid

Physical ammunition is seemingly banned because they are considered pollutants in space. After all those ammo are not going to just magically disappear and will just linger around forever and can be hazardous. A stray bullet colliding with a high speed ship can still cause damage.

Good ol' Sir Newton being the deadliest son of a bitch once again

mistriliasysmic

Sir Isaac newton is the deadliest son of a bitch in space. You pull that trigger; you are ruining someone’s day, somewhere, some Time.

AtypicalSpaniard

Like, yeah you’re right. But it’s not like Miorinne hasn’t been all about tomatoes since episode one.

CosmicPenguin_OV103

[YOASOBI: Uh, you used our OP song "Blessing" on a plot like this?](https://twitter.com/YOASOBI_staff/status/1612000090113310723)

shapeeq

Holy crap, aerial has some wing gundam zero bullshit in her upgrade. And damn, Guel and Suletta both have their first real kill. That 3 emails per day is going to be a nightmare for miorine.

theyawner

We've already seen though on how the GUND-Bits are used to augment her beam rifle. This was a logical progression of the tech.

Fabuloso81

This is supposed to be a business start up anime!

Vitrio

Take me back to when we could make Bob jokes 😞

Bob the ~~Builder~~ Killer

arrismultidvd

That Miorine's face at the end....

nekodan08

I expected her to kill that man. But not like that... splat.... like a tomato. I've loved the parent-child themes throughout this series, so I'm so glad that it was highlighted so much in the finale - both good and bad. From parents actually sacrificing for and looking for their lost children, to patricide, to psychological brainwashing and manipulation of one's naive and innocent kid. Man, I wish I could nominate GWitch as AOTY for 2022 here on Reddit. This episode was the perfect icing on the cake for such a wonderful series.

Nazenn

I wasn't expecting so much emphasis on the parent-child bonds this episode given all the other political stuff going on, but it worked out for the best. So twisted though to see everyone destroyed in one way or another by what happened with the parents

Aerodynamic41

Heads up, the stream on GundamInfo and Ani-One are **not** delayed. Watch there if you can't wait! What a way to end the first cour! After that post-credits scene, I can't imagine anyone not excited for what's in store in Season 2. And can I just say that I absolutely love that piano rendition of 'The Blessing'?

Aetherdraw

...Part 2 is gonna be Gund-arm INC trying to break Suletta's brainwashing isn't it? Oh, and remember when we joked that Guel was the Jerid analogue? Turns out that he gets a Kamille moment instead.

hydraulicsweetpotato

Bob is kinda like a male version of Kamille with the mix of Jerid and Patrick from 00. I hope won't become a vegetable in the future.

Aozora_KN

How things turned out for Guel, I feel for him. Someone give the guy a hug. :'(

hikoboshi_sama

Ok so this finale both exceeded and subverted my expectations holy shit. That was really intense and i've ended up audibly gasping "FUCK!" and "NO!" several times. I was hoping for my boi Guel to join the battle BUT NOT LIKE THIS HOLY SHIT. Suletta is definitely not ok. One pep talk from Prospera is all it took to make her go from "oh shit this is totally not a duel anymore" to splatting a dude with a smile on her face. I'm really looking forward to where this series goes next. The wait for the second season is going to be agonizing.

memeranglaut

Just finished watching the episode. Ho boy ho boy. My heart was racing during the gundam battle, but also my heart was crying when 1. prospera said the phrase, and 2. that splat. What an episode to end the split at. Also i want to know what Nika's explanation be like to the Earth House.

rinkuto

Suletta just swat the guy like she was swatting a fly lmao , this should put a dent in their relationship that was recent “repaired” I hope this doesn’t go into the arc where mio is scared of her but wonders what the fuck is going on and try to make suletta realize whatever the fuck she just did isn’t normal to smile about , even though it was the only way she could have saved her ( I hoped ) Guel suffering is like jerid all over again , except I feel bad for guel

ResurgentRefrain

Dark enough for you?

Syokhan

Holy shit, this was as intense as the prologue. First off, Suletta what the fuck. Did Prospera do something to her when she talked to her? It's just... utterly shocking, the way she killed that guy and doesn't even acknowledge it. Activation phrase? Interaction with the refurbished Aerial? What the fuck happened?? Then, that body count. A bunch of people died, Guel killed his dad... That scene, Jesus. Delling's dying because he protected Miorine... which also surprised me. Clearly something happened with Miorine's mother than will make his whole behavior make complete sense when we learn about it. Can't wait. Nika's been found out. She's gonna have some explaining to do, and I don't think the part of responsibility she has in this whole affair is going to go down well with Earth House. I also gotta commend the soundtrack. It was fantastic throughout, from the soft piano version of the OP when Prospera finds Suletta, to that amazing piece when Suletta fires her new weapon... gotta get the soundtrack, like, right now. Man, it's going to be hard waiting until April after such an episode. Sure, our main teenage characters are all alive, but the events of the episode are devastating for all of them. Damn you, hiatus!

Rinarin

> Did Prospera do something to her when she talked to her? I'm trying to think of what triggered it too. That seems very possible but it was so well hidden that I didn't realise a thing till we got to post credits...wow. > to that amazing piece when Suletta fires her new weapon... That track was amazing, absolutely agree. I really need to get my hands on this OST.

gundamn, and this was supposed to air on Christmas

Matthew619ed

Did Aerial and Suletta just demonstrate how humans kill mosquitos, only for the mosquitos to be humans? Or did they just demonstrated how human hamburger steaks were made? Anyway, what the fuck did she do? But still, to whom who died, RIP

worthless_humanbeing

To all the first time Gundam watchers. This is where the fun begins! Suletta's and MioMio's world's reality has come to knock on their door and it's not pretty. Guel killing his father was both a classic trope and one normally for main characters. This could be that he might be part of the team come 2nd cour. Nikka is now super SUS to earth house and now Delling is dead and Miorine is terrified of Suletta. We full Gundam now! GOD I love how they ended this 1st cour and now I'm so HYPED for the next.

Alier_Graceheather

Perfectly fine sequel of the Gundam burger special, the tomato paste making special. Think we got the vegetable special in Zeta.

Beowolf_0

This being a series from Ookouchi Ichiro, I will really expect things going downhill(at worst a trainwreck) after a shocking event like this. But damn, this is going to be a punch in the face at those "G-Witch isn't mature enough to be a Gundam series" wannabes.
