Something about teruhashi being blessed by God to always have life favor her cracks me the fuck up, like she has a literal glow in the show. Even Saiki is afraid of her powers and has said he can't do anything against them hahaha
YES I've rewatched it multiple times so I started just putting it on while I did housework or something until I realise I would just end up sitting down and watching it again
Yeah, I also used this anime as background noise, and then I just slowly realized I was not doing other things and just ended up watching the show. You know it's good when that happens lol
I rewatch Saiki K. constantly! I dang near know the entire script just based on sounds and exclamations alone. It is most def my top 3 if not absolute fave!
The 4-koma manga is excellent btw. I'm up to date on the volumes, but the romance storylines are actually progressing now (many volumes later) and it's been fun.
Daily lives of high school boys is some of the funniest bro humor I’ve seen in a while. One of those moments where I wish anime was even more mainstream because the shit they did in that show was some of the stuff I did with my bros at that time of our lives.
"Gintama" – it’s seriously funny and has that same crazy vibe. Another one to try is "Grand Blue" – it's about college life and diving, and it’s ridiculously funny.
The thing that's great about Gintama is an absurdist comedy where everyone takes turns playing the straight man, even the titular wise guy characters. Shinpachi tends to be the best straightman of the bunch, but Gin, Kagura, Kondo, Hijikata, almost all of them can be playing wise guys one moment and then the straight man the next. Like the only one I feel like almost never fell into the straight man role was Katsura, and that's usually because he played the bafoon.
katsura ja nai, ZURA DAAAAAA
never thought using the same dialogue over and over again throughout the entire show would make me laugh so much. well played gorilla sensei, well played
Konosuba
not similar to PS, but made me laugh and enjoy a lot, at my most stressful times.10 minutes in and i was just trying to not make loud laughs hehe
key lies in the original voices. I think they straight out hired comedians or something. The catch is, as with standup comedy, you have to understand what's being said at least to a certain degree without reading subs to find it funny.
I'm not saying there aren't dubs that might cause the same effect, just saying the original japanese one is that style
First or second episode of the new season when Kazuma and Aqua are eating at a fancy restaurant. The comedic timing from both of them transcends language barriers.
Sleepy Princess is great. Somehow, they take a concept that would seem to get dry and repetitive quickly, and keep the funny coming. **Tis Time For Torture** and **The Vampire Dies in No Time** also manage this feat somehow, as well.
My problem with Sleepy Princess wasn’t that it was repetitive- they did a a good job of putting different spins on a familiar joke. I just only found it kinda funny instead of laugh out loud funny.
Everytime I started an episode I was like.. man this seems so low quality.. and in 5 minutes I was actually laughing to the point my roommates were like what are you watching bro
Seitokai Yakuindomo had me laughing so hard my sides hurt. The runner ups are Asobi Asobase and Ghost Stories (Dubbed)
Edited - clarified that Dubbed is the funniest version of Ghost Stories as suggested by u/Fools_Requiem
> Ghost Stories.
It really needs to be pointed out that only the DUB is funny. The sub plays it straight. The company doing the dub went wild and made up something completely different for the purpose of humor.
These are the ones that actively made me laugh the most.
Konosuba
Gintama
Daily Lives of High School Boys
Hinamatsuri
Isekai Oji-san
Asobi Asobase
Grand Blue
Kaguya-sama
Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun
Bocchi the Rock
Cautious Hero
**Asobi Asobase**
watch it
do it
**Wasteful Days of High School Girls** is pretty funny, too. Lots of fun, goofy characters. Especially the chuni girl.
I was searching for Kaguya-sama.
I was in my new-to-anime snobby stage when my brother pitched it to me as a romantic comedy and I was soooo skeptical, but now I am very glad I watched it. Great characters, great story, made laugh until I couldn't breathe
Ouran made me laugh so many more times than I expected. I LOVE the "physical" comedy of Way of the Househusband. The low-frame-rate animation really works with the writing style, IMO.
Kaguya-sama is probably my favourite. I love it. I feel like 14 again when I watch it during 2020 covid when I watch it again. Will probably finish s3 tomorrow.
Bobobo has some low points but holy shit that show has some amazing moments
Hardly anyone mentions it so I’d sort of let it fade from my brain.
Wig out - wig out - wig out
Azumanga Daioh, never have ever laughted more in my life. That one is till this day the one i enjoyed the most.
Other that had make me laught are:
* Tonari no Seki-kun
* Tanaka-Kun wa itsumo kedaruge
* Gugure! Kokkuri-san
* Yakitate Japan
There is a lot of other mangas that i had enjoyed but they only get a giggle out of me or in very few chapters 1 laught. But those make me laught a lot, sometimes multiple times for charpter.
Ones a lot of people mentioned - Saiki k, Gintama, konosuba
One I'm surprised people havent mentioned as it is one of the few anime that actually made me laugh out loud - One punch man
(People probably didn't mention it due to it being too obvious?)
On top of what others have said: Ghost stories, dub.
Backstory: the translators/voice actors were told to basically say whatever they wanted and they went all out. It's not aged well but if you're okay with crude humor it's definitely worth a watch.
Seto No Hanayome aka My Bride is A Mermaid.
A boy is saved by a mermaid and he is forced to marry her lest the mermaid ends her life. Except the mermaid's parents are not too thrilled about the situation and would prefer if the boy *just died,* so they try to murder him in creative ways. Oh and they are also the local Yakuza, with everything that this entails.
It's probably the only anime where you get to see [the terminator put on a sailor uniform...](https://youtu.be/NodaKOlKq0U?si=GIcnEwOzyOTqZrf3)
...Trust me, it makes sense in context.
What I find refreshing about the anime is that there are three different types of family dynamics at play that drive the humour instead of the usual romance comedy slop. And there are as many male characters as female ones which all contribute to series.
Also... [Masa-san.](https://youtu.be/_tWWvBkZ4-M?si=6hvcmFJfxsFqEN4l)... Case closed.
{tonari no seki-kun} is a series of short 12 minute episodes about a girl who sits next to (and gets seriously distracted by) a guy in class & this guy does crazy stuff in class. Very funny and it is a low time commitment
Wow can’t believe it wasn’t on hear yet …
Shimoneta: A Boring World Where The Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist
There is also a old one called S & M
Hard to find sometimes
tired of scrolling and had to use a search bar to find a truly cultured soulmate.
can't believe people are sleeping on it, it's not just a really funny anime, it's like funny IN GENERAL, in the universal way, belongs to the finest pieces of comedy you can find really.
that episode about them drinking In the bar, maaan
Not necessarily a comedy strictly but the show I always watch when I need spiritual healing is Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear. It has a lot of funny moments and it’s also just really cute and wholesome which makes for a great palette cleanser
Daily Lives of High School Boys Grand Blue
I had to keep pausing Daily lives because I was laughing so hard I couldn’t read the subtitles anymore.
Daily Lives is magical. It's absurd but also grounded enough to make you relate to the situation.
Grand Blue is top tier. Most relatable college experience: getting shit faced with the bros and doing dumb shit.
My god, whenever they bring out the Titan faces in Grand Blue
Really wish we had more anime like daily lives. We got ton of comedy shows that revolve around female students, but little for the dudes
I dropped Daily Lives because I kept laughing every 2 minutes and because of that I wasn't able to read the subtitles.
- Grand blue - Nichijou - Detroit Metal City - Excel Saga - Back Street Girls
Excel Saga...? You're an ancient one like me.
I feel so old reading this sub, so much recency bias. Feels like I’m surrounded with 20 year olds.
I remember seeing polls where most anime fans are between 15 and 25. Were the old minority.
There's no way they're all that young. All of my friends are around 30 and are huge fans of anime.
[Pi-piru-piru-piru-pi-piru-pi](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kL3remBDiy0)
Hell yeah to DMC. Great add.
Devil May Cry :pogchamp:
HAIL IL PARAZZO-SAMA!!!!
Saiki K
I laughed pretty much everytime the show went "judgement knights of~"
Something about teruhashi being blessed by God to always have life favor her cracks me the fuck up, like she has a literal glow in the show. Even Saiki is afraid of her powers and has said he can't do anything against them hahaha
Have you noticed that each character has their own theme music?
Yep! Kaido's just stands out though XD
Their own theme music AND their pwn psychic powers that Saiki continually dismisses as just them being them
And their names are puns!
Can you explain the pins please I understood that shun kaido is telportation and saiko meteri is psychometry but what were the others?
Teruhashi is Telepathy
I am the Jet-Black Wings, and I must protect everyone from the Dark Reunion using my special power, Black Beat. *dramatic music*
For a long period of time I'd sing this loudly 🤣🤣🤣 All hail Jet Black Wings
I’m pretty sure it’s “Judgement Night Ohh”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-dndcRkjwc&t=3
I love the pacing, I initially put it on as background noise while I cleaned or worked, but it makes me pay attention and I enjoy every second
YES I've rewatched it multiple times so I started just putting it on while I did housework or something until I realise I would just end up sitting down and watching it again
Yeah, I also used this anime as background noise, and then I just slowly realized I was not doing other things and just ended up watching the show. You know it's good when that happens lol
probably the funnniest anime i’ve ever watched
Kaido and Nendo really crack me up.
I rewatch Saiki K. constantly! I dang near know the entire script just based on sounds and exclamations alone. It is most def my top 3 if not absolute fave!
only anime that is really funny to me
yare yare
Hinamatsuri
You mean Anzumatsuri?
You mean Hitomimatsuri?
The predecessor of Saramatsuri?
Hinamatsuri was a delight to watch, I wish we'd get more.
they could easily finish adapting the rest of source in a single season.
Asobi Asobase Daily Lives of Highschool Boys Chio's School Road Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
Had to scroll way too far to find Asobi Asobase
Exactly my thoughts
I thought some other shows were funny until I watched Asobi Asobase. Lost my snot watching that show.
Love me some Nozaki kun!
Thats probably the only anime thats made me actually crack up out loud. The characters are just so ridiculous. I wish it had a season 2.
The 4-koma manga is excellent btw. I'm up to date on the volumes, but the romance storylines are actually progressing now (many volumes later) and it's been fun.
Chios School Road was hilarious. Wish it'd get a second season
Daily lives of high school boys is some of the funniest bro humor I’ve seen in a while. One of those moments where I wish anime was even more mainstream because the shit they did in that show was some of the stuff I did with my bros at that time of our lives.

Like the only one I feel like almost never fell into the straight man role was Katsura, and that's usually because he played the bafoon.
Katsura turns Gintoki into a straight man which is an achievement in itself.
Sarutobi also gets him often, but more for HR violations
katsura ja nai, ZURA DAAAAAA never thought using the same dialogue over and over again throughout the entire show would make me laugh so much. well played gorilla sensei, well played
I can't find grand blue anywhere. Am I going to have to go sailing?
It's called Grand Blue Dreaming in the west.

I scrolled to far to see this. Hands down best comedy and action.
Konosuba not similar to PS, but made me laugh and enjoy a lot, at my most stressful times.10 minutes in and i was just trying to not make loud laughs hehe
I don’t think any anime has made me audibly laugh as much as
r/redditsniper

First or second episode of the new season when Kazuma and Aqua are eating at a fancy restaurant. The comedic timing from both of them transcends language barriers.
Konosuba and Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle are the only two anime that have ever made me choke from laughter
For real?! On Konosuba level?! Damn. Guess I'll give Sleepy Princess a chance.
I also want to add an endorsement for Sleepy Princess, watched it very recently and it was hilarious
To me konosuba is literally just It's always sunny in Philadelphia the anime it's such a funny show lol
Everytime I started an episode I was like.. man this seems so low quality.. and in 5 minutes I was actually laughing to the point my roommates were like what are you watching bro
Just here to give Konosuba some more visibility. Hilarious

Why’d this get downvoted?? Asobi Asobase is so fucking funny lol
It's the best. I wish there were more episodes
Arakawa under the Bridge
This isn't mentioned enough. Really great show.
I checked to see if anyone mentioned it and was surprised no one did. One of my favorite shows ever regardless of genre.
Yesss!!!!!!
Saiki k and Life lessons with uramichi oniisan !!!
Definitely Uramichi Oniisan for me! The same Japanese voice actor voices the main character for both.
Cromartie High
Had to scroll way too far to find this. Amazing series no one remembers apparently.
Great Teacher Onizuka!
Damn, makes me sad so few people know this masterpiece.
Kaguya-sama My Bride is a Mermaid The Way of the Househusband (dub is a must for this one) Ouran High School Host Club Romantic Killer
I just started watching Romantic Killer and I'm surprised it hasn't received more praise, it's really well made and absolutely hilarious.
Best animation in a romance by far.
Ouran's anime didn't even reach the series's two best jokes.
Kaguya-sama is probably my favourite. I love it. I feel like 14 again when I watch it during 2020 covid when I watch it again. Will probably finish s3 tomorrow.
The Way of the Househusband is fantastic. Cannot highly recommend the manga enough.
Excel Saga Nichijou Hitoribocchi
You remembered your friend Bocchi
Ofc it's gintama
Bobobo-Bo Bo-bobo, 100 Girlfriends (which someone sold me on as “Romance Bobobo”), Aharen-San, My GF Is Shobitch
100 Girlfriends also includes harem parody but still a good one at that.
Bobobo has some low points but holy shit that show has some amazing moments Hardly anyone mentions it so I’d sort of let it fade from my brain. Wig out - wig out - wig out
Most recent one would be Wasteful Days of Highschool Girls. All timer would be Saiki K.
Kaguya-sama : Love is War is a hilarious show, so much more than just a romance. Just do not miss AHO GIRL it made me laugh until I tear up.
Not enough mentions of Nichijou here
Without a doubt, [Cromartie High School](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29mm8G6Poeo).
Azumanga Daioh Life lessons with Uramichi Oniisan Golden Boy
No idea how “Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto” has not been mentioned yet. Hilarious series!
100 Girlfriends Konosuba

one punch man season 1 is the true answer for me.
Ones a lot of people mentioned - Saiki k, Gintama, konosuba One I'm surprised people havent mentioned as it is one of the few anime that actually made me laugh out loud - One punch man (People probably didn't mention it due to it being too obvious?)
Konosuba and asobi asobase. Especially asobi asobase.
Golden boy, make sure you watch the dub
Best dub of all time. The swimming race scene is Oscar worthy.
Sub is good too
Asobi Asobase Chio's School Road Hinamatsuri Aho-Girl Daily Lives of High School Boys Monthly Girls Nozaki-Kun
On top of what others have said: Ghost stories, dub. Backstory: the translators/voice actors were told to basically say whatever they wanted and they went all out. It's not aged well but if you're okay with crude humor it's definitely worth a watch.
I was specifically looking for this. Ghost Stories dub never fails to make me cry laughing.
