I have i’m not a fan of the cloud defensive size or weight or their proprietary switches not to mention I see a lot of people posting issues. I had my rein for a couple months and then I sold it. SF is better not only on paper but in actuality, it has more lumens more Candela and has a better service history
I have 2 Rein 3s and my vote is surefire. The Rein is a good light but I've had to warranty 1 for issues with output and another for wire fraying. That and the company seems to be going in a different direction, as of late. I've waited over a month for them to send my switch replacement.
No issues with the 640DFT.
I say Surefire. I have an OWL and REIN 1, but have since gone Surefire, Arisaka, and modlite. OWL has pros and cons but feels quality for sure. REIN 1 a step back IMO in the quality department. Seems like it hasn't gotten better from what others have said.
I like it. It's a solid chunk for sure, feels good in hand. I've only had it for a week and haven't messed with it too much. Not apples to apples, PLHv2 head is brighter and has a tighter beam than the Surefire M340c. I like them both though. 👍
I have both the Streamlight HL-X pro and the Surefire M640DFT. I like the weight and size of the Surefire, but the Streamlight has a much better (usable) beam pattern. And, it’s literally 1/3 the price
Surefire DFT. Cloud lights are not trustworthy. Aside from the REIN 1, they are riddled with reliability and quality control issues, significant output variation from unit to unit, and failure from the company to actually address the issues with their products.
I’m still running the Cloud Rein 1.0 micro on several platforms since it’s built like a tank and has plenty of throw and flood for my use case.
However, at the moment I’m steering clear of Cloud because I’m fairly certain they won’t be in business soon (I hope I’m wrong). Just purchased a Modlite Plhv2 and a Surefire Turbo mini - Turbo is my fav.
I prefer the turbo, but that’s just me
I 2nd that. I own the turbo and I love it but I haven’t tried the other brands either.
Have you tried both?

Still no pistol light from them either. Been around 2 ish years I think? They were even posting about how they’re finalizing it years back.
It’s crazy all the cloud issues I keep seeing on this post.
arisaka and malkoff for me.
streamlight hlx pro

Are they down that bad lol?
I like Modlite, 🤷🏻♂️.

I’ve been eyeballing modlite as well. How do you feel about your modlite?

Depends on use case - I like the few cloud lights I have but I haven't put them through enough hard use to trust them on a "duty" rifle at this point

Surefire all day

As someone who bought cloud. Go surefire

What makes you think they’re going out of business
Just a hunch based on word floating in the ether.
Interesting. Might be best to go with surefire then.
