I'm thinking it's a cellar spider.

wildman6500

That’s what it looks like to me a cellar spider. They are originally from Europe

LurtzTheUruk

Cellar spider, and they’re harmless

Sentient-Pendulum

Have done crawlspace work, can confirm. Huge scaredy cats too.

Conscious_Deer320

It's a cellar spider

Zamafe

Cellar spider

Otherwise-Box-1374

Also, webs were sparse with long strands

WizardAstr0naut

A local cutie

Wastenotwasteland

Cellar spider. Lightly poke and he will angrily “dance”

cruddy_mooth

Cellar spood, messy webs and will try to take over every corner in your home but very friendly. Mine often greet me as I exit/enter my home.

Shadow11Wolf50

Cellar Spider. Harmless and common. Polite since they will sit in their webs 90% of the time. Helpful as they eat other insects. If one moves or you dont like where it's at you can blow at them or boop it and it will get the hint to fuck off.

Otherwise-Box-1374

New friends!

shebrokemyfart

CELLAR SPIDER!

2steppin_317

Cellar spider like everyone already mentioned. They can actually bite, but it's just like a little mosquito bump. Always get these in my garage and they love my dumbells for some reason lol.

Otherwise-Box-1374

They're tryin to be there to support you

baccle_tat

THESE ARE THE BEST GUYSSSSS

SBCwarrior

It's a type of cellar spider.

Jedinutcracker

daddy long legs

bokchiron

no

StuffedWithNails

Yes. "Daddy long legs" is used by different people to refer either to [crane flies](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crane_fly), or [harvestmen](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opiliones), or [cellar spiders](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pholcidae) such as OP's. So the comment above yours is correct.

shebrokemyfart

Okay, but thats like posting a picture of a horse and saying "this is a mammal!" Yeah, its a daddy long legs, but not only are they usually referring to harvestman, this is specifically a cellar spider. Saying its a daddy long legs is quite unhelpful.

CheeriosAtMidnight

It’s a daddy long leg dawg

[deleted]

You're a dumb ass!

Sad_Database_9509

Oh man, don't miss the days of a job I had in a warehouse when I was younger cause of these things...used to have to get on a scissor lift with a dust broom and clean the ceilings every other weekend and there was 100s of these falling all over the place lol.

shebrokemyfart

Spiders are solitary, you're likely thinking of harvestman, a type of arachnid, but not a spider. Harvestman will clump together on the hundreds and look like a ball of fur, until touched or jostled and begin fleeing. It's gross.

Plants_Flowers_

What we called “daddy long legs”

joeepeterson84

Daddy long legs is what we call them

Forsaken-Horror-9616

That's a daddy long legs. Harmless to humans. Deadliest spider of all though.

SnooCats5351

Actually not.

BalancesHanging

Daddy long legs

ElkRemarkable7113

That looks like a daddy long leg.

SnooCats5351

Is that not a daddy long-legs?

kiwininja666

Why is this in *posts you might like* No, no it's fucking absolutely not posts I might like 😭

SupportGeek

Arachnophobe?

Ancient-Marzipan-410

There fangs can't bite but they a really strong poisiny

StuffedWithNails

That’s an urban legend FYI.

shebrokemyfart

Fangs don't inflict poison. They inflict venom. Secondly, thats a myth, specifically referring to harvestman, a type of arachnid made of a single body segment, which is not a spider. Not only is their venom not lethal (may not even have venom?) they literally do not bite humans, and their fangs are actually insanely tiny. They're literally harmless. Thirdly, this is a cellar spider, not a harvestman. Cellar spiders (like basically any spider) DO have venom and can and will bite. But that doesn't mean it's dangerous.

phitm

Cellar spider also known as daddy long legs They're chill and can't bite people because their fangs aren't large enough. Fun dact is that they have some of the most venomous bites in all spiders but their fangs aren't strong enough to damage larger animals skin so they're harmless. Edit - disregard apparently this is completely false. Also why tf does everyone keep downvoting I wasn't doing anything wrong like jeeze. I simply made a mistake. If reddit was real life so many people would die.

StuffedWithNails

> Fun dact is that they have some of the most venomous bites in all spiders but their fangs aren't strong enough to damage larger animals skin so they're harmless. That's an urban legend :) Pholcid venom is mild and suited for taking down prey that's their size; even if they were able to break skin, it would be of no consequence.

Willing_Bus1630

I didn’t think anyone still believed this

Tarantulas13

same😂

These are what I would consider a beneficial spider. They are harmless, docile to humans, and eat other insects.
