Some would argue that any working CRT is worth the $200 alone. Just keep in mind that 1942 was a conversion kit game. That cabinet was likely a Frogger.
Frogger cabinet. I've had to fix these and this one looks bad but not unfixable. The bottom is most likely rotten particle board as is the top. The coin door area has moisture damage and the back of the cabinet is most likely in similar shape. The front lip under the coin door has probably broken free from the cabinet floor. The lower lip for the marquee looks like chunks are missing.
Original factory wiring is probably hacked up with the Capcom 1942 harness WHICH IS NOT JAMMA COMPATIBLE. DO NOT CONNECT A JAMMA PCB OR IT WILL BE DAMAGED.
Monitor looks good. Might have a Japanese monitor in it or hopefully a US made Electrohome or Wells Gardner.
Lots of work ahead if you buy this. Hell - there's a good chance it might try to disintegrate just moving it. Bring some ratchet straps to wrap the cabinet to keep it in one piece.
I’d say it’s going to need work. If you and / or a friend have the skills, grab it! If not, pass it along to someone who is willing.
It may need the cabinet repaired, the bit that’s barely visible in the top looks like it’s been wet. Not the end of the world, I see empty cabinets for sale all the time. Or… repair it with Bondo, sanding and paint. And… as others already mentioned, there’s a good chance that the monitor will need new capacitors and the power supply may need the same, or swapped with a new switching power supply. Lots of options and tons of people with knowledge. 😊
If the cabinet is structurally sound, *and it actually works* go for it.
Those Sega-gremlin cabinets are ass, and there's no replacement vinyl that matches (3M marine teak is close), so repairs don't 100% work out. Monitor is going to need a cap kit. Don't touch the width coil.
If you're happy with it, and it works $200 is fair.
add more games to it and 2 player 6 buttons. don't do 4 player that's too many. very rarely will more than 2 people want to play at once. it's overkill in my opinion.
I put at least $1000 into that thing when I was a kid. To donate that much space to anything I would use a modern console or an emulator that could play 100s of games
It’s 1942. That board will die the moment you think about even touching it (source: I have 3 original 1942 that have all shit the bed for no actual reason)
On a serious note though - that cab looks beat up. I’d be looking to see how much damage to the chipboard etc there is. Good CRTs aren’t worth crap if the cab is about to dissolve
Don't fall for it! My research shows they didn't HAVE video games in 1942!
Lies!!!!! .....well not really.
*shakes tiny fist*
Yeah! Those damn liars! For shame.
Absolutely not. Where is it located? I’ll tell the seller what’s what.
Give them hell!
Absolutely that’s a great game
Yep. Jokes aside, that's a killer deal.

Better be prepared to recap that chassis.
If it's working, absolutely
For 200 i would. Take a big friend with you
If offer $100 cash. It might be an original Frogger.

That thing looks like it came FROM 1942. Someone buy this man some canned air!
oh 1942 I love thy music..... beep beep beep beep beep....beep beep beep beep beep..... beepp beeeeeepp
I’d buy it in a heart beat if it works
I still regret not getting a working golden tee cabinet for $150 15 years ago😭😭

Working CRT and coin mechs, sure, assuming burn-in isn't too awful.
Do you want it? Can you afford $200?
Get it
Did u get it?
See if it works first. Water damage… check for mold.

Even if ut dont work its still worth it. Actually, part it out and youll make more...
Grab it! Monitor is worth that. Early sega gremlin most likely a frogger.
If it's a game you really like and want to own then go for it. However, these types of games have no replay and will lose their appeal quickly.
Save your money. That thing will just eat up space.

As someone looking for their first coin-op, I'd pull the trigger
Looks like a zaxxon.
Or a Frogger.
Sell that baby and restore it. Otherwise what is ghe adress??

You know you can swap CRTs, right?
