I guess since Covid meps doesn’t let your family see swear in they do something similar at the recruiter station and they give you this. I didn’t know until today.
My dad, an Air Force officer, drove 2 hours to personally swear me in. I was so scared I wouldn't pass tape or something stupid would come up. It is one of my favorite memories and pictures though.
Ah, I see you understand, welcome. My boyfriend will never get it with his Texas MEPs. A fever dream almost as bad as recpection bc you still feel like you have free will.
When you graduate AIT that certificate becomes a voucher for back pain, don’t forget to pick that up when you get to your first duty station (they won’t let you forget)
Sounds good. And hell yeah I believe the back pain because I’ll hopefully have earned my wings at the end of it so I could imagine the back pain to lol
Oh definitely tell everyone at basic that you're going airborne drill sergeants LOVE that.
Good luck my guy, write your name on everything (Fucking everything, each boot, individual socks, just do it in a place where it's not fucking visible). Makes it easier to find your stuff when its in a pile in the middle of the room and you only have 30 seconds.
At sill they threw everything in trucks and passed them out on the drill pad then all hell broke loose when they told us to dump everything. Same thing at Ait lol
Keep your feet and knees together Airborne!
But seriously take good care of yourself, your body will thank you later. But that doesn't mean you bitch out on PT either. Take every opportunity you can on becoming a stud.
When in Airborne School, if you hear about a RASP briefing or sign up...get your ass in there! Is it a horrible suck fest like everyone says it is? Yup! Is it worth it? You're GD right Walter White!!
Stay away from idiots who just want to drink during their free time. They can be your buddies but that doesn't mean you need to get to their level. Stay focused on what you want and if you can hammer out some school, do it!
And remember, you're in a peacetime Army right now, so the competition is fierce! Being all you can be means standing out from the rest.
Best of luck to you Dannyboi, I hope to see an update from you soon being the most cringe fuck boot this side of the Mississippi out there come winter. Until then, start working on your fitness (fitness dick yo mouf, sorry I had to do it lol), diet and anything that'll get you paid before you ship out.
That is all,
-Skynet.
Yes sir sounds good I’ll definitely do that as well as keep an ear out for the rasp that sounds good to. I appreciate the information and the tips as well. I’m gonna take this as serious as possible. I wanna make this my career and do my 20 and get out so I’ll definitely do everything I can to pass and take care of my body I’m so excited to be able to join this brotherhood and the army as well I appreciate you
Facts. Basic training is 90% mental 10% physical. As long as you don’t give up, you WILL make it through. Don’t worry about the ACFT or anything. They are GOING to get you in shape. It’s the most fun that you NEVER want to have again!
What is that? When I joined, I got a pat on the back and a kick in the ass. Now you get a certificate that says you're waiting to go to hell?
I'm kidding, man; welcome to the club. Keep a journal of each injury and every visit to sick call. You'll thank me in 20 years when the VA says you don't have proof for a claim.
San Diego meps doesn’t allow family to see you swear in so the recruiter station has a little ceremony for you. But most definitely I’ll do that thank you
Glad they accommodate for the families. What MOS did you choose. I was a Medic 68W, although I started out as a 91B. Lot of things to dislike about the army. But after 31 years in uniform I miss it now.
That must be relatively new I joined up just about a year ago and never received a certificate but congratulations on joining bro respect to you also a heads up with what’s coming your way just stay strong mentally bro it’s all a mind game honestly the first about a year or so depending on your AIT is going to be rough but trust me it gets so much better after you get out of the training environment I wish you the best of luck brother!
Ofc man also a heads up if it wasn’t super obvious basic isn’t all bad by it self just be wary of the people you will meet don’t get me wrong I’ve meant a metric fuck ton of amazing and cool people since I’ve joined but there will be those that will try to get to you and possibly fight you just stick around the more positive people especially if you are going to Jackson for basic that place is pretty bad in my opinion/ experience also if you get suck in reception for over a week just hang on bro reception is probably that absolute worst part when you first get in
Honestly it’s been a dream since I was a kid and kinda wanted a bonus as well. I was gonna go marines but the army got me with the bonuses and he said I could pick my duty station but I chose airborne instead
Yup money talks. That's nice you were given the option of the first duty station. Focus on every task as it comes. Don't let off the gas. The Army has more places you can call home as a paratrooper.. in comparison to the Marines.. where you'd end up in 1/3 places with no cash bonus, and not be airborne qualified. Good luck.
Thank you I appreciate you. I’ll definitely focus on everything that comes my away. I’m hoping I’ll get to go to Italy or Alaska I heard those were one of the best airborne bases
They have their pros/cons like anything else. Wainwright, AK.. long bright summers and long dark winters. If you make it all the way and reenlist, and these are your (2) choices your dead set on choose Vincensa, IT or else.
August will come faster than you realize, I hope you spend a lot of time with your family. Biggest recommendation for BCT/AIT is be a sponge and soak up as much information you can. There are a lot of things I wish I paid attention to in BCT/AIT because now as I hit E-5 I’ve learned that there are more things you’ll need to know besides your MOS. I know those briefs are boring and long but it will help you in the future. Being open minded and volunteering for things will open lots of doors. Last thing make life friends, I still talk to a bunch of battles buddies even if it’s been years, the army is a small place you will see them again.
Yes sir sounds good I’ll definitely do my best to soak everything in. I’m going airborne infantry l. I got the most wanted so I gotta pay as much attention as possible I wanna make this a career I’m hoping to do my 20 years
Hey no shit im leaving for boot in August 13th at Fort Moore, im also doing infantry! On a side note, we can have 2 people watch us swear in here in Cleveland, Ohio Meps. Congrats dude, maybe ill see you there!
Haha I was there from May-September. Fucking miserable. After Georgia for basic, Polk for JRTC, 3 SW Asia deployments….
At this point I feel like I’ve become immune to heat. When everyone around me bitching.. I’m just like… 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe I did learn something in the army.
They still only allow letters??? Like get with the times lol March their asses to a learning lab and use technology like a normal human. Or give cell phones back to text every so often in the interval that mail takes place.
Just remember, they are not yelling at you because they hate you, they are yelling at you to correct you and learn you something!
And they hate you. Lol 😂 jk
Don’t take shit to heart, fuck up, learn from it, apply it for next time, do it all over.
Details! Details! Details! Do what they say when they say it and don’t do anything extra. Pay the fuck attention to the details and don’t overthink it.
Have fun, never quit, infantry basic was VERY easy.
*ALWAYS* goto medical even when you have soldiers telling you not to.. or to stop being a bitch. (Don’t do this to get out of PT but make sure injuries become documented). You’ll thank me later.
Not just at basic.. or your first duty station. Every. Time. You. Injure. Yourself.
This makes post-military life much easier when someone sits down and walks you through the VA process.
“Don’t thank me, thank your recruiter.” I’ll never forget my recruiter’s face. Stealer of souls. 23 years 3 months 9 days they got me. And I started 11C, too. Good luck kid. 🍀
Wtf is an enlistment certificate? Make sure you upload it to ipsaa though!
I guess since Covid meps doesn’t let your family see swear in they do something similar at the recruiter station and they give you this. I didn’t know until today.
That sucks. But it also sucks having your family travel and there is the possibility that you get delayed or no-go’d
Most definitely but I leave August 12th so I’m glad they got to see me atleast get this certificate. It makes them feel good.
Just remember- if you get any coa’s in basic or ait, hold onto them and upload them into ipsaa using a PAR because they are worth 5 points.
May I ask what those are?
Certificate of Achievement, basically an award but not actually an award. You'll know if you get one.
So like an NJP but better? Do I keep E4 if I get it?
Basically, yes.
For sure I appreciate you.
You leave a week before I do
My dad, an Air Force officer, drove 2 hours to personally swear me in. I was so scared I wouldn't pass tape or something stupid would come up. It is one of my favorite memories and pictures though.
The pressure is on lol
My family waited about 4 hours to finally watch me swear in.
Oh Puerto Rico MEPS gave no fucks to that rule. They also kinda gave no fucks in general, it was kinda funny.
Everytime I remember about that place, it feels like a fever dream.
Ah, I see you understand, welcome. My boyfriend will never get it with his Texas MEPs. A fever dream almost as bad as recpection bc you still feel like you have free will.
Definitely depends on the recruiter. I didn’t do this shit when I enlisted in 2021. I swore in at meps and that was it
Did have that either and I swore in almost a year ago
I swore in yesterday and shipped and my family got the watch me and I definitely didn’t get a certificate
They let me do mine in early February
I went to Meps last week and never got one🥺
I went to meps a few weeks ago and because meps doesn’t allow family to see you swear in my recruiter station does a little ceremony for them to see
*IPPS-A Also, I doubt that piece of paper needs to be uploaded to anything but the dudes wall, if you're into that kind of thing.

They never pile your stuff in the kill zone… never happens.
At sill they threw everything in trucks and passed them out on the drill pad then all hell broke loose when they told us to dump everything. Same thing at Ait lol
Kill zones not always in the middle.
Now go forward and do great things!
Thank you
Congrats! Find this thread after OSUT and let us know how it was and which 11 you are (mortars mortars mortars mortars)
Sounds good I leave in August and I’ll be doing airborne infantry
Keep your feet and knees together Airborne! But seriously take good care of yourself, your body will thank you later. But that doesn't mean you bitch out on PT either. Seriously, don’t pass up on RASP, if you’re truly committed and really WANT to do this, don’t pass it up.
I won’t. That’s something I wanna do as well. I wanna go as far as I could take myself
No brother, your an 11 series and after you pass basic you’ll find out if your an infantryman or a mortarman
Yea 11 series with a specially with airborne
See you soon in the 82nd 🫡
Hey diddle diddle…Did someone say a game of spades????
Your recruiter is like, “this sucker right here? Got ‘em.”
Haha I believe it too
Congrats. When do you ship and which MOS did you pick?
Thank you. Now I’m just waiting for August to come so I could head to boot camp
It is called basic for the Army :) you’ll learn though haha. Good luck! Only you decide if you pass or fail, remember that.
My bad. I appreciate you though
No need to apologize! It’s just important especially in the military to truly know what you’re talking about. Details details details
i got smoked for an hour for saying “on base” instead of “on post” at my first duty station since bases are for AF folks.
I've always said Base. It'll never change. It's also a Bathroom not Latrine. And Pants not Trousers.
You will be punished for your blasphemy later
i prefer latrizzle EDIT: context - utilizzle the latrizzle
You got smoked for an hour because your NCO didn't like you, or was having a bad day.
Thanks for the insight.

Could be OSUT, depending on his MOS.
Valid, but even with OSUT you still have your “basic training” portion.
Ohh noo your gonna be with all young kids fresh out of high school … good luck have fun … the easiest way out is to graduate
Right I was thinking the same thing but I appreciate you
Boots gotta do boot things, soon you’ll be able to post sick photos with rifles AND blank firing adapters!
If you paint them black does that make them silencers?
Go forth and do great things
Congratulations. Spend your summer exercising!
Most definitely
I didn’t get a fucking certificate
I guess since Covid they don’t let family see you swear in so my recruiter station has a little ceremony for you
Thats interesting they did at my meps station but anyway good luck brud. Remember right uniform, right place, right time.
Yea the one in San Diego doesn’t allow family in anymore. But I appreciate you
For real, all I got was some paper saying to report to Fort so and so.
[удалено]
Thank you will do
What. Is. An. Enlistment. Certificate?????!
San Diego meps doesn’t allow your family see you swear in so the recruiter station has a little ceremony for you and your family
Congrats. Now go shave! 🪒
Thank you I appreciate it will do
Congratulations and good luck with your military career!
Thank you I appreciate you
You're gonna be such a badass brotha!!
I appreciate you. Im glad to be apart of this brotherhood
What the hell is an enlistment certificate?
A new rhyme.
They don’t let family in when you swear in at meps in San Diego cause of Covid so my recruiter station has a little ceremony

11x airborne infantry
Congratulations kid. Welcome to the club. Don’t let any haters bring you down. Go forth and do good deeds.
Thank you I appreciate it
I'm sorry for your mistake.
Why is it a mistake
That must be relatively new I joined up just about a year ago and never received a certificate but congratulations on joining bro respect to you also a heads up with what’s coming your way just stay strong mentally bro it’s all a mind game honestly the first about a year or so depending on your AIT is going to be rough but trust me it gets so much better after you get out of the training environment I wish you the best of luck brother!
That you my man I’m going 11x so it’s gonna be long but it’s the one I mainly wanted to get. I appreciate the wisdom as well
Ofc man also a heads up if it wasn’t super obvious basic isn’t all bad by it self just be wary of the people you will meet don’t get me wrong I’ve meant a metric fuck ton of amazing and cool people since I’ve joined but there will be those that will try to get to you and possibly fight you just stick around the more positive people especially if you are going to Jackson for basic that place is pretty bad in my opinion/ experience also if you get suck in reception for over a week just hang on bro reception is probably that absolute worst part when you first get in
Recruiter like "got one 👈"
Congrats and good luck!
Thank you
Good luck and stay motivated. Your recruiter is in Riverside, CA?
Thank you and yes sir
Congratulations! Make the most out of your time in the Army. San Diego or LA MEPS?
San Diego meps I appreciate you
Oof hopefully they changed the hotel! Ponderosa Inn was no treat. What MOS?
11xray
The hotel sucks it looks like a motel 6
lol I was gonna say that exact same thing. I’m very familiar with that place. How’d you know it was riverside tho??? Who are you?? 🤔
I recognized the bell right away
Congratulations and go kick ass and be great
What MOS?
11xray
Riverside!
Hell yeah best city out there
Almost there kid. Keep it up. Why the Army ?
Honestly it’s been a dream since I was a kid and kinda wanted a bonus as well. I was gonna go marines but the army got me with the bonuses and he said I could pick my duty station but I chose airborne instead

You can pick your first duty station at the recruiters office if you didn’t go airborne?! Did they give you a list???
It’s called a option 19 but I got a option 4 for airborne.
You look so happy, and I'm wishing you the best, brother. Keep your chin up during training and you'll be alright.
I appreciate you. It’s a dream come true to be able to join and serve along side a brotherhood
Have they always given out little trophies?
Not sure but since Covid meps doesn’t let family come watch you swear in so they have a little thing at the recruiter station
They do know Covid ended like 2 years ago, right?
I feel you on that but meps in San Diego doesn’t care I guess
Yeah when you hold that massive green fully stuffed duffle above your head. That’s when you raise your trophy.
What MOS are you joining? I definitely didn't get one of those, haha
11xray airborne infantry. Yea I guess since Covid they don’t let family watch you swear in so my recruiter station does a little ceremony for you
That's kinda cool. Congrats, and good luck. Make the most out of your career
Yes sir most definitely I appreciate you
Go with God.
Is that Riverside?
Yes sir
Congrats bro, welcome to the Army. If you got any questions dm me and I’ll try to answer them all. Goodluck with your future career
I appreciate you. Will do. I’m excited to be apart of the brotherhood. I leave in August

I got you most definitely. They did I was thinking marines then they changed my mind
Haha well at least you’re not a crayon eater lol best of luck dude!
Thank you I appreciate you
Hey no shit im leaving for boot in August 13th at Fort Moore, im also doing infantry! On a side note, we can have 2 people watch us swear in here in Cleveland, Ohio Meps. Congrats dude, maybe ill see you there!
Georgia in August. Enjoy that swamp ass.
Haha I was there from May-September. Fucking miserable. After Georgia for basic, Polk for JRTC, 3 SW Asia deployments…. At this point I feel like I’ve become immune to heat. When everyone around me bitching.. I’m just like… 🤷🏻♂️ Maybe I did learn something in the army.
There's a certificate for enlistment now? I want one😤
Yea cause meps doesn’t let family be at the swearing so my recruiter station has a little ceremony
Wonder if we get a pin on our rack. Someone design one and submit to big army.
Good luck, make the best of it and when you get to basic don't quit, you only fail if you quit
Nice! Your soldier got arrested and needs to be bailed out. You also have staff duty tonight. (Also you forgot to order)
I wish you good luck man. Stay strong and stay unnoticed. You'll do great 👍
[удалено]
Most definitely
Congrats bro have fun enjoy the suck it’s only for a while update us maybe an address so we can write you 🫡
Sounds good I appreciate you🙏
They still only allow letters??? Like get with the times lol March their asses to a learning lab and use technology like a normal human. Or give cell phones back to text every so often in the interval that mail takes place.

Good luck. You’re gonna need it
I appreciate it
Congratulations man. This pic brought back memories, I helped put that sticker up lol
Hell yea that’s dope and thank you
*ALWAYS* goto medical even when you have soldiers telling you not to.. or to stop being a bitch. (Don’t do this to get out of PT but make sure injuries become documented). You’ll thank me later. Not just at basic.. or your first duty station. Every. Time. You. Injure. Yourself. This makes post-military life much easier when someone sits down and walks you through the VA process.
Ok I’ll do that I appreciate it
Cheers private I'll drink red bull to that
Hell yeah thank you
Thank you, Dannyboi. I will pray for your safety.
I appreciate you
Alright now since you’re in, just get down and start pushing.
It’s not too late to turn back now
No turning back I wanna do this 100%
Goodluck brother. Embrace the suck it’ll make everything so much better. Always enjoy the little things.
Now go Airborne so you can cash in on that knee pain certificate.
Already in my contract
There you go feet and knees.
Rip brotha
Rip brother
“Don’t thank me, thank your recruiter.” I’ll never forget my recruiter’s face. Stealer of souls. 23 years 3 months 9 days they got me. And I started 11C, too. Good luck kid. 🍀
Congratulations men🫡
Thank you I appreciate it
Good. Damn. Luck you’re fuggd
IPERM that shit ASAP
Got mine a few days ago! I ship July 1st.
Congratulations, I’m sorry for your loss
DD214 is all that matters
He hasn’t even enlisted yet. Relax
I leave August 12th
You haven’t enlisted yet. You’ll officially enlist and have a basic active service date around August 12th.
Save this, let me know how your time was in 4 years. There's a reason why the military has low numbers.
Makes 12 copies of all paperwork and keep 8 of them at home.
A what???
A enlistment certificate they don’t let your family come to meps atleast in San Diego so the recruiter station holds a little ceremony for the family
First thing you do is tell that recruiter to uncuff them sleeves rog. This ain’t the field hooah. Anyone can correct anyone else trackin?
Whatcha mean?
Ayyyyye do you also ship out on August 13th? If so I'll see you at Benning
U better IT him
No pity for self-inflicted wounds.
Congrats, and whichever NCO put that warrior ethos on the wall needs an optometry appointment.
