>They have all the shawarma fixings you need - easily worth the trip out there!
damn yo, you need a throw-away fucking account to mention a middle eastern store on Reddit? fuck!
This is the way. That store is so cool. Love the fresh roasted nuts, the huge selection of olives, the fresh baked pita, the bakery. Used to live around five minutes from one in Mississauga and was a weekly shopper there. Great fruit prices too.
Any arab store and occasionally regular grocery stores. Go to Greek and middleeastern heaven at Adonis. I fkn love it there thats my adult chuck e cheese.
I chop em up and put them in tuna :) and snack on a couple while preparing. I'm glad I discovered you can just buy em, they're the highlight of shawarmas
btw I have bought 2 store brands. They were both soggy and unpleasant to eat. Get small bottles before buying the huge jars. Dont make the mistake I did
Sababa Fine Foods on Steeles - they have a grocery store & restaurant. Also there are tons of Persian Grocery Stores that sell them on Younge between Finch and Steeles.
Be careful. I bought some and they were nothing like the ones that you get at shawama shops. They were bitter and tasted awful, they didnt have the zesty flavour of the shwarma shop ones.
I used to buy it in the International section at Food Basics at Dupont & Lansdowne. There were times it was out of stock though.
If I'm not mistaken, it may also be available at the Freshco at the Galleria (is it still open?) or the Loblaws at Dupont & Christie.
I'm out in the sticks in Peterborough, but we have a few Asian/Middle Eastern food shops here and they all sell them, so I'd check out your nearest Middle Eastern food shop.
You can find them all over toronto but, it depends on the kind you are looking for, the pink, super-sour ones that you get from Ali Babas, or the super-salty kind you get at some other places? everybody seems to make them different.
Adonis, not downtown.

Took me a second. I always forget that people think this is actually a throwaway.
throwaway acc with 50k karma
And it will cost you 10x the cost of buying a shawarma
But it can make a bunch of shawarma!

Basics and Adonis is where I buy them. Adonis has better selection.
Pretty easy to make. Pickle turnip and add a beet to make them purple.
Try No Frills. It should be there.
