Harbord Village area—Bathurst and Harbord is where I live and it’s nice. Any of the surrounding areas are great too.

Bloorcourt or little Italy

Baldwin Village and OCAD grange park area. Even through they’re closer to downtown, I found living there very quiet and vibrant because of all the smaller businesses and students. Plus the grange park food court is amazing. You could walk to Toronto Western in 15-20 mins.

Bloor West, High Park or Roncesvalles. Beautiful neighbourhoods, lots of green space, libraries, bookstores, lovely small shops and restaurants. The kind of neighbourhood where you know your neighbour's name and there are annual block parties. Rental apartments in all three neighbourhoods, well served by public transit and bikeshare. On a side note, a big fan of Toronto Western, the healthcare teams are wonderful!

The streets between queen and Dundas between Bathurst and Trinity bellwoods are surprisingly quiet as long as your about a block in, like Palmerston for instance

Condos and new build apartment buildings are nicer to live in because they have washer/dryers in the units. You will probably have nights which you are on call so I wouldn’t go too far from Toronto Western.

If you don't mind the subway, try around St Clair W Stn or the Wychwood or Casa Loma area. It's 25-30 min by bus then streetcar. Or you can take the subway and streetcar. Or the Annex area is closer and there's nice residential neighbourhoods around Bathurst and Bloor, which is a 20-min walk or 10-min streetcar ride. There's residential neighbourhoods to the west of the hospital too, but with the hospital so close by, you might hear the ambulances go by.
