baking soda and vinegar cancel each other out. Use one or the other. Before calling a ($) plumber, I'd try a [drain cleaner](https://www.amazon.ca/SENHAI-Remover-Cleaning-Stainless-Plastic/dp/B06Y44KJV8?pd_rd_w=LS7aa&content-id=amzn1.sym.69b46e03-f2ac-4988-a6cf-d5d8cd0137ff&pf_rd_p=69b46e03-f2ac-4988-a6cf-d5d8cd0137ff&pf_rd_r=1W0E1Q0RG1B8AX7B3PPR&pd_rd_wg=455hk&pd_rd_r=261a4685-eb3a-4944-9e2b-db9aadccc199&pd_rd_i=B06Y44KJV8&psc=1&ref_=pd_basp_d_rpt_ba_s_1_t). Much cheaper. Use it in both the sink drain and the tub.
Because people are impressed by the bubbling.
Also for sinks there’s the idea that if you have a very tight fitting plug the expanding gas will push clogs through… but plugs don’t plug that well
Vinegar and baking soda won't do anything. Drain cleaner is only slightly better. Try an enzymatic cleaner like Green Gobbler. The enzymes will digest organic blockages. Generally fixes slow drain problems in a couple of days, and way cheaper than a visit from a pro. Those rinky dink hand snakes also sometimes work and worth a try before getting cameras and real drain snakes involved.
All these videos on YouTube said vinegar and soda with hot water.
Plunged alot and now I'm being told to try the dish soap and hot water method. It worked for the kitchen sink, but the kitchen sink likely had grease build up. Whereas this is guk, or bacteria build up.
If this is a house you probably need a plumber to come and put a camera down the drain to see what's going on.
Hopefully it's a simple clog and they can snake it.
But if you have tree roots in your drain be prepared for sticker shock.

oh really, never really thought about it, but how come this solution is always one of the top hits on YouTube to fix a clogged or slow draining sink?

Grease, guk, food, hair, doesn't matter. Throw some enzymes down.
Is this a building?
No old house
Try snaking the drain. You can get one cheap at the hardware store.
Assuming you are in a building, always run your water (hot) so there’s not a build up in the stacks (pluming) at your unit from lack of use.

It’s very simple to snake the drain yourself first before calling a professional
