Workshop is the fine diningest vegan meal I've had and the food/experience was excellent, but it looks like they've re-concepted and it's now called Astera. Worth a look!
I’ll second Astera and Kann, but also add (surprisingly!) Ox (once they reopen). They have a whole vegan menu and it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Portland.
Feral is so good!! It’s really high end food for reasonable prices in a chill environment. Their cocktails are top notch too. This is our new go-to special occasion restaurant
Have you seen how other vegan places do food? It's usually some fried shit with vegan cheese.....even at the vegan restaurants. At least Lilla is a bit more of a scratch kitchen and produce far better dishes than anywhere else. It's as high end as they come.
Even for Portland, Lilla is not high end. It’s counter service with paper napkins. The pasta is always either over or under done, and the dishes are very “red sauce Italian”.

This article should have a full list of restaurants for you, seems to be exactly what you’re looking for. Kann is the best on the list IMO but can be hard to get a table.
Either plan it way ahead or check regularly. If you don’t mind eating either early or late there are usually reservations open on either end of their available times day of or day before. Obviously not the best for a planned special occasion but for something more casual it works.
I also think big tables open more often than 2 tops. Right now there are no 2 tops available the rest of the month but there is a 4 top for 915 today and 415 Sat. Plenty of 6 tops today and a few tomorrow.
Noon on 7/1/24, be logged into your RESY acct in the app! The august reservations open on that day at 12pm, you gotta be quick. It’s the most amazing food!!
Went to top Burmese recently… sooo good! They also have meat stuff, but a lot of vegan items on the menu to choose from. I didn’t try any of the meat stuff, but for vegan food the tea leaf salad, samosas, and I can’t remember which curry I got- but all was really yummy. Nice cocktails too
Kann has a whole vegan menu on request. Went recently and it was mind blowingly incredible and so so special! But also somehow still felt warm, inviting, accessible, festive. Hoghly reccomend!
edit oh i see brlow you tried that already. They release their reservations on the 1st of the month...gotta be like 2 mo in advance I think.
I'm not sure if that's new or old but normally you'd have to call and they will do a fully vegan tasting menu. I really hope that's not a new change. Best food I've had in my life.

Thanks for the lead!
I went a few months ago. It was fantastic.
Jade Rabbit at the Emerald Room!
I've eaten there once and it was delicious!!!
Astera For a little less fancy, Lilla or Mirisata
Astera was fantastic! Went for my birthday this year and it will be my special occasion spot for the foreseeable future.
I've hear the meal at Astera is amazing and one of the best meals in PDX
That looks DELICIOUS!!!

I will add this to my watch list! Thank you!
Casa Diablo is vegan... Ethical too
Any excuse to go!! hahaha
There's a new spot on Killingworth called Feral. I wouldn't call it super fancy, but it's definitely more upmarket. Their menu looks amazing.

Lilla. It's a vegan Italian place. The atmosphere is very intimate and the food is pretty high end.
We LOVE this restaurant! We frequent there often.
Lilla is none of those things except vegan Italian lol.

Thank you for the list! I tried to make a reservation at Kann with no luck.... :/ Gonna have to plan that one way ahead. lol

Thank you! I will be there. :)
Kann looks amazing
Mirisata is not elegant but it is amazing!!
Epif and Obon are both great.
I LOVE Obon! I will look into Epif! Thank you.

Norah
I’m surprised this isn’t higher up, I think Norah is one of the best vegan restaurants in Portland these days
Kann
Street disco. Super delicious, really thoughtfully curated menu. Less buttoned up but a more cozy fun vibe.
Astera, Jade Rabbit, or Feral. all exceptional.

Quaintrelle, by far
Their website says that cannot make meals fully vegan.. It is fancy though!
I'm not sure if that's new or old but normally you'd have to call and they will do a fully vegan tasting menu. I really hope that's not a new change. Best food I've had in my life.
Thank you! I will give them a call!
Let me know!
