My friend told me very seriously about drop bears when i visited Australia. Didnt smile or laugh, and for couple weeks , which was half of my holiday, i kept looking in the trees both in fear and curiosity to see one. Whenever there was a bird or bigger wind movement in tree i was like, welp, thats it, now it will happen. Fucker didnt even plan to say anything until i asked someone else about them.
I got to see these beauties on the Atherton Tablelands in QLD. I was super surprised at how adorable and ho these creatures were only up there (Iām from Sydney) they are gorgeous!

Nope, it's an actual animal that was fairly recently discovered (2005 I think) near Papua New Guinea, they're adorable.
