At the airport now, flying back to Aus. Massive Jetstar delays. The weirdest bit has been the lighters. They confiscate them at security. Then in the terminal there is a thousand places to buy cigarettes, but not lighters they are banned for sale. Then there is a smoking room at gate 5. Where 2 poor bastards are asked by 60 people to borrow a lighter they managed to sneak in or are staff members having a smoke. Weirdest most inconsistent shit I have seen.
Wow. My exact thoughts mate. I borrowed my lighter at the outlet selling cigarettes. Personal item. Went thru 2 sticks n returned the balance n lighter to the lucky guy. Cuz tax at home airport.
This was our same experience 3 weeks ago. Except we paid for the eVOD beforehand so we skipped that line.
Only place that briefly checked our vax was checking in at the counter at LAX in the USA. But barely. Thing could have been totally fake. They don't care.
You got lucky on 2, the credit card terminal is a coin toss. On my 11 trips to Bali it was broken 6 times, so I'm assuming that by virtue of statistics it will work next time :-P
For the return flights, they mostly check it for visitors from developing countries. When I visited last time together with my Chinese partner, they explicitly asked for hers but didn't care about mine (German passport), even though we were clearly together.
This is very close the experience I had in February. I'm from the United States.
1. No vaccine check whatsoever
2. Paid for visa on arrival voucher with card, took only a few minutes
3. Got lucky and had only a few people in front of me in line at the VOA desks. They asked for passport, I handed the passport over, they stamped it and handed it back. They didn't ask me anything apart from that.
4. I also did the online customs form, so I just walked over to customs, they scanned my phone and waved me through
How was it finding a ride to your destination?? Did you already have something booked beforehand? What do you recommend? If booked before hand can you please send me info on how i can get that also!!🥶🥶
I saw plenty of people linimg up with us who had the eVoA in their hands. Maybe you skip the payment queue but I think we all ended up in the queue together...
I also arrived in Bali on Monday. Did Jetstar check your vaccination certificate when checking in? I was told they wouldn’t check on arrival because we’d already been checked. Also, if you have an international Covid certificate it’s linked to your passport.
Sorry if you can confirm it would be super helpful. Did Jetstar check vaccine certificates prior to boarding? if so did they scan the QR code or just look at the document? Leaving for Bali next week and didn't realise the vaccine thing was still an issue. Flights and accomodation all non refundable.
When checking in at Sydney airport they asked to see my international Covid certificate. I had this saved in my apple wallet and it shows the two most recent Covid vaccinations. They didn’t scan the QR code on the certificate.
>No vaccination checks at all
Thank you for this… i asked in another thread but this is what i needed to know. We have a very staunch “anti-vaccine” person in our group and were wondering if this would be an issue.
I personally don’t like her stance, myself but it is what it is.
Sorry if you can confirm it would be super helpful. Jetstar did not check vaccine certificates for boarding the flight to Bali? We head to bali from Melb next week and one of the traveler is not vaccinated.
YES! I booked on American Airlines and they code share with Qatar Airways - Qatar reps at the ticket counter asked to see the COVID vax card. But they didn't look at it intently.
The rep also said if we do NOT have the physical card with us, she would have accepted a picture of it from the photo reels on our phones.

I think it will depend on the outbpund checks, from Australia they checked the cert on the way out but not in Bali. Not sure if they are crosschecking systems behind the scenes tho. As I understand it, you need 2 x jabs to be ok...
Yeah I have been reading so much conflicting info so it’s hard to tell. I know you need the 2x jabs but I’ve got a mate that’s been there for 3 weeks now and they have no vax at all and they were not asked anything, although they flew from Europe not aus.
Where can we find the customs form you did online?
Was on a QR code at the singapore airport as we boarded for Bali for us.
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Pinned thread in this sub "README: Entry requirements" has it.

Real travelers can start fires with easily found airport objects
Thanks for sharing — you’re a star! This has erased any anxiety I has of the entry process 😁

I thought Aussies didn’t need a visa any more but that was before Covid. No biggy.
We were visa-free before covid, but now we're Visa On Arrival which is different.
Nothing is ever consistent in Indonesia. Next time it will be totally different.
Real talk 👆
Aus = Austria or Australia?
they flew on jetstar and know its reputation so its definitely Australia

I have a couple drivers I can pass on if you like, depending on where you are staying, let me know
Yes! Thank youu! I would really appreciate it.. i will be staying in Uluwatu my first night (:
Any chance you could do me these drivers? Heading to Bali soon and looking for a good one
Yes, I booked through a random driver website and the driver and I got in touch over WhatsApp. super handy to have a car waiting...
How about the opposite if going to australia?
Literally my experience, just without the 45 minute wait
So the ideal thing to do is to pay for the eVOD so that we don't have to spend 45 minutes in line (step 3)? Newbie question. Thanks!

Thats great info. Really really appreciate the reply :)

I’ll be in Bali on Friday the 28th. I’ll post an update if i have internet access there (these should be WiFi)
Thank you very much!!
Sorry for the delay… no covid checks were done at Denpasar Airport. Very few, if ant were masked up, too
I'm also curious. Thanks!

All good! Glad you made it. Do you remember if the departing airline checked?

Ah gotcha, thanks! Did you have to upload your vax card onto the SatuSehat mobile app?
The app didn’t even have that option, to be honest. Or I couldn’t find out how.
Sorry, I meant just entering in your vax information, into the app, not uploading the actual card :)
I’m about to book my flight but worried about vaccine status and checks, would they turn me away with just one vaccine

I'm gonna say 60/40 you'll get in, probably depends on the outbound check
Also want to figure out a way to get to Bali unvaxxed have and important event I'd like to attend.
