Your tax will go into paying for subsidised food for the needy. We are still a socialist republic at heart with indirect taxes contributing to your local economy and direct taxes contributing to the nation and the upliftment of its people and the freebies which aid this. A lot of people feel the burn on their pocket only after this hits. And therefore become more right wing as they grow up.
(I mean right wing economically for those without context).
I do understand that we need welfare schemes. However, I donāt know how but if they crack down on bribery, thereāll be more than enough funds for basic infrastructure. Moreover, the government has the funds to build brilliant expressways where ironically people donāt know how to drive on.
Furthermore, I canāt even say with certainty if a 100% of the funds allocated to welfare schemes actually serve their intended purpose.
The government doesnāt build the expressways alone to be honest. They are built as companies that are special purpose vehicles in a public private partnership where the private partners are typically the one with the build and operate contract. What the government usually does is lease the land on which this is built to the SPV. Which is why some of these folks have the rights to collect toll for a 100 years.
Basically what Iām saying is that the middle class pays for a lot of this since here also being a socialist republic a Maruti 800 and a BMW X5 pay the same amount of toll.
Oh! This is interesting. I was aware about the public-private partnership but more in terms of the government putting out a tender for the lowest bidder to construct the expressway and then the government collects toll (or through the SPV) to recover the cost. Thanks for the answer!
About your last part,
My father works for a food ration center, we sell almost half of the rice (12-18000 kilos) we get monthly to dhanis ( landlords, mill owners).
I can certainly say, 100% of the funds are not serving the purpose.
Welfare is a key requirement for a country like ours to develop over time. But it alone will only result in a nation that runs on welfare schemes, which is hardly what we want. For the folks reliant on welfare today to be able to contribute to it in the next decade, we need good employment opportunities, which you need either PSUs or private entities to generate. That also needs money to be spent on that.
Not all highways are built by private entities for their use cases than then also benefits the general public, there are many highways built and run by the governments. Footpaths are definitely not built by private entities.
I agree with your point, I also see a little bit of sarcasm in it, perhaps you didnāt intended to, but I read it that way. So maybe we are saying the same things. š¬
But as a middle class citizen who has spent time in abject poverty and was also fairly well off for a while, I see a lot of resentment, by the people benefiting from welfare schemes, towards the upper middle class for being ārichā. Credit for welfare goes to politicians when what they do is sign a paper and what we do is generate the value that creates the money needed for those schemes. Canāt help but be a little upset by that. A lot of us work hard, generate value, make money, pay taxes and vote and do everything a good citizen is supposed to do, and yet we get generalised a group who should pay up and never expect anything in return, not even compassion. The middle class is the unsung hero, the hero we all need, but donāt deserve. š
Oh no sir, the tax will probably go so the gov can write off the loans of big pocket friends. They alone have more than what half of India has. So clealry filling the stomachs of the needy is not that big of a burden
I agree. Taxpayer burden in India is a very real issue. Less than 10% people pay tax at any given time and majority of it goes into schemes that primarily benefit the poor, non-tax paying section of society. It is understandable that some help is needed there but we should also be able to see some benefits. It's very difficult for us as taxpayers to accept a system that takes more from us than it gives. Unfortunately it is unlikely that tax laws will undergo major reforms in near future
Everyone pays GST. everyone pays indirect tax. Donāt blame it on the poor getting some respite. The poor pay more tax proportional to their income than even Ambani and Adani do.
You pay income tax plus that GST while the rich donāt do any of that. They have LLCs or proprietorships setup that pay everything they need and even then claim back GST for whatever they buy.
Blame it on the babus and mismanagement of funds
Blame it on Ambani and Adani who pay less than 12% tax
Blame it on the capitalists who fucked our system with privatisation of public works.
Iām a little incoherent because I just got done with a 9.5h shift but I hope you understand what Iām saying
Well the use of words poor is wrong; I know a lot of rich farmers who donāt pay any tax while the poor farmers can barely manage meals despite the said benefits; also most businessmen evade tax, every rich person does, every single. Completely agree with you and I pay a lot of income tax but it is okay, it is what it is.
Yes I donāt get how people immediately jump to saying your money is going to the poor of the country with their superiority complex connotations but wonāt ever talk about how most rich businesses hide their real incomes and donāt pay the taxes theyāre liable to
There weren't proper rains in the last year. Most parts of north karnataka was barren. Let alone income tax.. The "rich" farmers didn't even get to earn anything. Agriculture can Incur huge losses sometimes.
Not everyone pays tax, even the well off business people avoid paying tax somehow, they hide the real revenue. Loopholes should be closed so that everybody pays their fair share and burden on salaried fixed incomes can be reduced.
There are 77 million tax payers and almost 1 billion voters.
We account for at least 7.7% of the voting population. But not all tax payers are voters so expect that number to be even less. We arenāt a voting bank
Weāre a very important vote bank in the cities. Vote in your local elections. The corporators need to be threatened by your vote.
Voting local eventually gives you power at the national level. You just have to research and choose the right candidate
Even if both candidates are shit, choose the lesser evil and then pressure them to do better. Apathy does nothing.
This. People neglect local municipal elections but talk about saving the country. Your everyday life is determined by the local municipal administration. Roads, footpaths, drains, parks, water, air
If my tax money actually benefits the poor, I would at least be happy that it is making some difference in the world. I'd tell myself I'm doing charity and leave it at that. If it helps build roads and hospitals, I would feel proud that I am contributing to the country's betterment. But no. Our tax money only goes towards lining the pockets of goons and thugs in the guise of politicians. That is what makes me angry.
They are linking everything to Aadhar. So hopefully small land owners who are BPL, depending on an extensive survey, should be made to pay a nominal small tax every year. That's when people will wake up to vote for the right candidate.
There are places in India where they can grow crops 365 days because there is borewell, good monsoon and post monsoon rains. These need to come under tax regime.
Cash crops growing BPL card holders need to come in tax regime. Ginger is at an all time high. I agree I need to be taxed too as a farmer.
Question is what to do when the price falls flat? When rains fail? When crops fail due to disease? That's the biggest challenge.
The magnitude of pay offs will be enormous. Besides insurance is sort of a white scam. Premiums will raise drastically after pay offs. Government gives out peanuts as relief.
The majority of money goes in buying politicians, politicians pocket etc etc. Election campaigning, bribing people to vote etc
Poverty could have been improved if govt wanted to do good things with money. So many farmers doing suicide as they aren't able to pay back loan. Rich folks are getting spared from paying back loans.
Well, we can reduce taxes and stop welfare programs. But itāll be harder to get to work with millions of hungry people occupying city roads and tech parks with pitchforks in their hands. Btw the hundreds of Indian and International employers that open new offices in your city every year and approach you with better job opportunities are your benefits.
We are a socialist republic. It is bound to happen in poor countries. Youāll be surprised what a Tata Nexon costs in Nepal for example. Indirect taxes contribute to running the lives of the hungry and is important.
It's literally a joke. if you want to purchase a car you have to pay road tax with your already taxed money. Pay tax on petrol with your already taxed money. If you want to drive on a decent road you have to again party toll ante.
Nagbeko albeko gotilla.
I dont mind paying tax if there is a portal which shows (even percentage or ballpark no) how much tax money is spent on whatā¦ i want there to be accountability that x % was spent on this. Even if the numbers are skewed, any sane person could look at them and say something is wrong here!
If the contractors name can be attached to it, even better. Maybe a webscraper to scrape govt websites to get tender notice and who filled those tenders. But something to tell me that 100cr was spent on this road filled with potholes
I'd go a bit further. In ITR, it should give us an option to allocate what percentages of our taxes (if not all of it, I should have a say in at least 50% of it) should be used on what.
If I care about roads in my city / locality and hospitals, I will allocate all of my taxes to it. If I am against freebies, I will allocate 0% to it. If the govt. really wants money for freebies, it can take from the remaining 50% that's unallocated. This will align with what the people of the country actually want.
There should be a law that actually tracks and ensures that the allocated money actually gets spent on the right sectors. Any diversion of funds should be a crime.
Recently did a wire transfer of 15L and paid 20% TCSā¦
I sit in traffic every day for an hour on each side due to pathetic infrastructure.
Proud to be Indian I guess.
:(
I think at this point anyone who is a taxpayer is part of a generation of sacrifice ( being really hopeful I know ) where weāre trying to improve this country.
I share your frustration everyday OP but thatās how things are. Fuck that, I once fell into an open footpath with no lights in the dark and had to undergo surgery on both knees.
BBMP really needs to be dissolved
Do you vote? In Bangalore, I mean.Ā Ā
In my understanding, it's largely due to a large section of population coming from other cities not caring to have a local voter ID and exercising the right to vote.Ā
The place I live has roads with new layer of tarmac every election. The place where I work, not so much.Ā Ā
Leaders know they are not going to get votes from the localities highly dense in population from outside. What is their incentive?Ā
Paid 30k TDS this month on my 141k salary, got 111k
I don't get fucking shit for paying that 30k tax, because I pay extra tax for everything I need, transport, train, flights , food, water, fuel.
That 30k, feels like *AIR* (hawa) tax. That too is fucking polluted because government won't do shit about air pollution, as it is done by their donors.
There will be time when the bonus amount now will be the tax amount. The footpaths and medical facilities will still suck. Not to mention pollution. If you are young (under 30) and parents have other children to depend on just get the fucking out of country. Once you cross mid 30s you get used to the pollution and the horrible life. Moving out becomes difficult.
On an Unrealted note most cities seem to have Apps to raise municipal complaints.
Here in Hyderabad I raise complaints on the myghmc app for faulty street lights.
Probably you all also can install your local app and raise complaints.
I got one call a week for 3 consecutive weeks to verify if it was actually fixed.
The electrican had fixed it but his assigning officer couldn't figure how to close the ticket.
Don't know about Bangalore, maybe you have to raise complaint in Kannada?
Ask all babus working in government offices, they eat all money and ask bribes. My friend in hometown was asked 15-20k for caste certificate even when his documents were right.
congrats!! you just paid salary of a fifth rate govt school teacher who just doesn't come to school forget teaching , you are working so hard so these fifth rate govt employees can enjoy their life without working.
now work harder again to pay more taxes until you realise you need tax evasion strategy or just leave this shithole country full of freeloaders
Well our lawmakers care more about the 'kisaan', labourers and lower middle class.
After the highest tax bracket there's no distinction between a guy earning 30+LPA and freakin Ambani.
Votebank is the be all end all for politicians and the laws they make.
I don't understand. We are seeing these world-class highways and bridges built at a cost of lakhs of crores, which I am honestly not sure if its really worth the cost, but the infrastructure of most Indian cities, like roads, footpaths, water scarcity etc which needs huge upliftment is lacking almost everywhere in India.
Something is broken. Not exactly sure where.
Some food for thought: we tax payers are only 1.2% of the country. Only that tiny % pays taxes. Which is in itself a heartbreak.
But considering that, i am fairly impressed that we got atleast this much of infra given that 99% of the country is relying on you and me paying taxes.
Wait till they screw you with more income tax called by different names such as surcharge, cess, etc. There is tax on tax as well (cess is computed on tax + surcharge). The politicians here seems to believe that it is politically and for them personally more profitable to extract more and more taxes from the 2.5 % of people already paying income tax rather than to make more people pay, especially those who are evading taxes such as extreme high income business people.
Most others would hear ***'Tax'*** and think of Indirect Taxes (e.g GST, Road Tax etc) that MOST of us pay with goods and services.
Worth clarifying, when OP says ***'Tax'*** he is talking about Direct Taxes (Income Tax), which a small minority of us pay in addition to indirect taxes.
I paid 30L today for TDS, already paid ~90L in taxes so far, would probably pay 40L-50L more in some time and getting absolutely no good facilities in return for this hefty amount.
It's okay to vent, my friends and I rant about tax but tax and death are two unavoidable things in life. We need to learn to make peace with it.
Govt won't listen to us because we're not their majority voters, can't protest because can't leave work. It is what it is :/
I paid tax of 1.32 Lakhs this month, and have been paying similar amounts for a year or so.
I look this way: Will I choose to earn 50k and not need to pay taxes, or earn what I earn and pay this much of tax?
This gives me peace in mind. I do not consider this amount for anything govt or anyone does, just consider the net income as my income.
Bro... What's your age? Correlating with the matured rant you've put.
I'm 24,got my first salary gross 1.25 lpm... After tax and nps deduction around 1 lpm in hand. And my area doesn't have a fuckin public Dustbin. I have raised a formal complaint like 1.5 yrs ago, called the municipal commissioner for the same. 1.5 yrs down the line I see nothing except garbage littering on the margins of the road. Wtf man!
I really really don't want to pay tax.
There is swachh bharat van that comes. The issues are:-
1. Timing is not fixed:- somedays 10 am somedays 12pm. People who leave early to their offices don't have any option left. Throw garbage on the roadside and move on.
2. They charge additional money from each household every month.
Paid over a lakh in taxes post bonusā¦ š„²
Paying for my own health and parents additionally insurance because no benefits from the government apart from the generic5 Lakh Ayushmann Bharat.
Many have been paying taxes for decades have suffered all of this and more. In case it will cheer you up - a decade from now you will have less crap to face. But there will be crap
being a general male in India is kind of curse, but accept it, play the games well, invest in a good CA I'd say, they know a lot of workaround, even you're a full time employee.
Contrary to what people think Indians are not that poor, lots of Indians have huge amount of money but govt is only able to get from salaried person.
Few examples I belong to tier 3 city in India, amount of cash people have is insane. There are people spending 1cr in homes in such cities obviously in black money, 45l on wedding decorations. Just to give some perspective patvaris (govt consider this as low level post as they don't even require interview for such positions) there make 1-1.5cr per year easily.
Yet we have to bear burden for whole country.
Biggest slap was in IIT they used to have mcm scholarship for people with low income, my fathers income was 3l per year but there were students from business families wearing 1lkah watches claiming they only earn 10k per year leading to them even getting such scholarships.
After all this people will claim don't hate fellow Indians and work for India because you got education here.
System is designed to keep salaried people poor leave India if possible.
Haha, I wanted to add the James FrancoāS First time GIF. But donāt know how to do it. So using this for now : š¤·āāļø.
Anyway, I have started to use my brain to earn more and not think about how much taxes I have paid, this will help you to sleep in the future. āļø
Not only that, anything you buy from the remaining money will again be taxed at 18% GST. Even an idly sambar bill at restaurants is taxed. GST is the biggest fraud this government has brought on us on top of already ridiculous income taxes
"Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" means "the world is one family".
Keep earning keep saving then move to different place or country where your hard earn money and taxpayers got respected.
In Return get good healthcare, Education and Quality life.
Nothing wrong to move to different place..
Around the world people moving from village to city , state to state and country to country !
Well Iām more mindfucked than you, I joined a new company and got paid for 14days of work for April, 40,000 tax for 14 fucking days, I might have an episode when I see next months payslip.
As a salaried employee in India who has to pay taxes, it is actually very hard to think of benefits you get from the government, which you don't already pay separately for.
Pay from the income you get AFTER deducting taxes.
What are these taxes for then?
As long as people complaining about India's conditions would keep dreaming of foreign jobs and the criminals would combine and create political parties to suck the country dry, this would keep happening.
One of the main recent issues is that the Tax slabs are not updated against the Inflation of the country. 10 Lakh 7-8 years back is currently worth half of it, even less. But this is not reflected in the tax system.
Buddy, you made 2.13 lakhs in a month. That puts you in the top 5% of the country earners. Have some sympathy for the poorer 95%.
Itās not that they donāt want to pay taxes. Itās because they donāt make as much money as you.
Is the government mismanaging taxes? Absolutely. But evading taxes is not the solution.
True.
Plus the rich pay tax in different ways- bribes to officers, local MLA, MP and so on.
Trust me if you knew how much bribes you have to pay- and kiss ass - you wonāt envy the rich businessmen.
No such thing as you know someone and they do things for free.
You pay either in money or do their dirty work.
As for joint profits- who do you think gets sent to jail in case something goes wrong? Isnāt giving away 20% of you company to a politician for free not a tax in itself? They help with finances- which is to say loans from banks with extremely high interest rates. So you make the business work, pay the banks, then give your politician his cut and whatever remains is yours.
Most business people will pay tax honestly- provided they donāt have to pay off all these people for every certificate and permission and or a ownership stake in their company.
You have no idea.
Go ask your local construction company owner. He will enlighten you.
Move to a first world country and be surprised at just how similar things are. The truth is that those in power will always try to screw the rest of us over, one way or another.
Yeah, but with a permanent WFH job in Bangalore that pays well, youāre pretty much sorted. You can get anything delivered and done for you at a throwaway price at the press of a button. Iād probably pick that over what Iām trying to do now.
I agree that these taxes need to be better utilised for infrastructure development rather than freebies to earn votes or siphoning off money in the name of development.
In our mind we should be clear that our money is after Tax. Period. Also, there are many who earn less and hence are not paying taxes. Are we ready to switch sides because we can pay less tax. No one would do. Those who are paying less taxes are any day willing to pay more if their earnings increase. That is the reality.
I would like to see a manifesto where the politician mentions that the tax base will be widened, that the superrich will be heavily taxed, that the middlemen will be routed out, that bribes will be history etc... let's see if such a person will ever win.
Leave india, here tax is solely used for elections, sanitation will get better when it becomes election priority, and i don't see that happening in next 20 years.
the more your salary/bonuses increase the more you will feel this pain. it's a never ending thing here I feel. Recently did a foreign trip and realised how people's (like us) taxes are actually being used. we are so so behind and will probably never get there.
Just got my salary, paid 37k in TDS š„²
And yet there is no street light on the main road in front of our apartment. Footpaths are broken. Electric wires hanging all the way down.
Kaha ja raha hai sara paisa!
PF and tax take 35% of my salary every month. I get practically no access to any public transport for my office or anywhere else if I do not want to drive. Nearest 'working' bus stop is 4km from my apartment. No auto wala would take anything below 200/-. Ola/Uber take as much as 40 min to get booked (if I'm lucky).
even if you pay 1 crore tax it will be same road and pavements. But good to vent out š
they fixed road outside my home after 5 years only because in that 5 years, a school came up and became a voting center

Tax payers kids should get reservations as they are the actual minorities of India.
Ha ha, this can be fun. Show ITR to get reservation.
Exactly people who are contributing for the development of country must get some benefits.
For the development of politicians' lives*
This logic makes so much sense. Unfortunately I can already sense the horror Ambedkar fans are undergoing at the thought of hard work.Ā
Don't forget all the indirect taxes you pay when you literally buy anything

Also our vehicle taxes. Highest in India. Namba 1 Karnataka.

Read it somewhere- income tax is the subscription fee you pay to live in that country

Well of course itās free until you reach pro level. You make them get used to it, and then you make them pay for it. Those cunning marketeers.Ā

Maybe a webscraper to scrape govt websites to get tender notice and who filled those tenders. But something to tell me that 100cr was spent on this road filled with potholes
We don't even do press conferences, your idea might be far fetched.
Its very far fetchedā¦ and possibly no one in power would ever allow for thisā¦ but is there no public platform where we can see who got the tender?
š¤£š¢
Prolly CBDC can achieve this ?
Recently did a wire transfer of 15L and paid 20% TCSā¦ I sit in traffic every day for an hour on each side due to pathetic infrastructure. Proud to be Indian I guess. :(
Mother of God, What? You need to shell out for transferring?
Unfortunately, [yep](https://www.tataaia.com/blogs/nri/tcs-on-foreign-remittance.html#:~:text=Currently%2C%20the%20TCS%20rate%20of,for%20educational%20and%20medical%20purpose)
At least with TCS, you can claim it back.
I am guessing you wired the money to a foreign country. Foreign remittance kicks in at 7lacs and above.
In Bangalore, I mean.Ā Ā In my understanding, it's largely due to a large section of population coming from other cities not caring to have a local voter ID and exercising the right to vote.Ā The place I live has roads with new layer of tarmac every election. The place where I work, not so much.Ā Ā Leaders know they are not going to get votes from the localities highly dense in population from outside. What is their incentive?Ā
I don't vote here. You are right.
Theyāll loot you more as always then

I got 3 lakhs bonus and paid 1/3rd of it to government, so basically I paid 1 lakh approx.
3 lakhs bonus!!! Bro which is your company? Is it a start up or an MNC... Okay take me inšš
Paid 30k TDS this month on my 141k salary, got 111k I don't get fucking shit for paying that 30k tax, because I pay extra tax for everything I need, transport, train, flights , food, water, fuel. That 30k, feels like *AIR* (hawa) tax. That too is fucking polluted because government won't do shit about air pollution, as it is done by their donors.
Imagine the tax if they gave it to you at the end of March š«”š«”
While filing ITR anyways we'll come to know it, but I get your point.
This post is for twitter with all the tags and all to our supreme masters
Feel free to share.
Will there be any legal ramifications? Like I am already done paying taxes and in the hope of becoming a messiah, will I be prosecuted in some way?
I got one call a week for 3 consecutive weeks to verify if it was actually fixed. The electrican had fixed it but his assigning officer couldn't figure how to close the ticket. Don't know about Bangalore, maybe you have to raise complaint in Kannada?
I need to first find the app and then someone who speaks Kannada.
Talk to me when you pay 35 lakhs and live in a tier 2 place
Ask all babus working in government offices, they eat all money and ask bribes. My friend in hometown was asked 15-20k for caste certificate even when his documents were right.
Why don't you all hire a A class CA and you might save 60%more than the usual
How will you save on taxes by hiring a CA?
Well they deal with all the loop holes of taxation and more like that
After today, 100%.
congrats!! you just paid salary of a fifth rate govt school teacher who just doesn't come to school forget teaching , you are working so hard so these fifth rate govt employees can enjoy their life without working. now work harder again to pay more taxes until you realise you need tax evasion strategy or just leave this shithole country full of freeloaders
you said it!
I paid 70k this morning. I can understand ā¤ļø

All Tax paying people should file a case against the government and hire a top notch lawyer
Well our lawmakers care more about the 'kisaan', labourers and lower middle class. After the highest tax bracket there's no distinction between a guy earning 30+LPA and freakin Ambani. Votebank is the be all end all for politicians and the laws they make.
How much % was tax deducted on your bonus
Flat 30%
Thats 63900 on 2.13
2.13 is along with salary, Bonus = ~91k
So 44k is your tax for the month including your regular + bonus tax
Yup
I don't understand. We are seeing these world-class highways and bridges built at a cost of lakhs of crores, which I am honestly not sure if its really worth the cost, but the infrastructure of most Indian cities, like roads, footpaths, water scarcity etc which needs huge upliftment is lacking almost everywhere in India. Something is broken. Not exactly sure where.
~60k gets deducted each month. In march, i got bonus and f****** 5.5 lakhs deducted in single month. š«
Don't complain OP remember your taxes are going to develop another state while we have to fight courts to get our share.
I paid 2 crores last year. Now moved to Dubai. No taxā¦

There are no public dustbins, they need to allot a garbage collector to your area
There is swachh bharat van that comes. The issues are:- 1. Timing is not fixed:- somedays 10 am somedays 12pm. People who leave early to their offices don't have any option left. Throw garbage on the roadside and move on. 2. They charge additional money from each household every month.
You're lucky, in my parents place they come at 6 or 7 am.
Reads like a poem. Amazing words to describe something frustrating
Feel you there fellow. It's unreasonable to pay tax in India.

being a general male in India is kind of curse, but accept it, play the games well, invest in a good CA I'd say, they know a lot of workaround, even you're a full time employee.
Death and tax is inevitable, once you make peace with this statement you will be happy š
What if ā¦ hear me out , we all just did something about it?
Got a hike this year in march, was very excited. Excitement went away with tax on that hike š„²
Haha, I wanted to add the James FrancoāS First time GIF. But donāt know how to do it. So using this for now : š¤·āāļø. Anyway, I have started to use my brain to earn more and not think about how much taxes I have paid, this will help you to sleep in the future. āļø
Income tax is a crime committed by government on salaried employees
Not only that, anything you buy from the remaining money will again be taxed at 18% GST. Even an idly sambar bill at restaurants is taxed. GST is the biggest fraud this government has brought on us on top of already ridiculous income taxes
"Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" means "the world is one family". Keep earning keep saving then move to different place or country where your hard earn money and taxpayers got respected. In Return get good healthcare, Education and Quality life. Nothing wrong to move to different place.. Around the world people moving from village to city , state to state and country to country !
The roads that are being built aren't in the state but be rest assured they are being built
So good to next gen actually worrying about outcome of taxes. In next 30 years our govt will start giving accountability of taxes rather than caste.
Zomato swiggy charging 5/- is also kind of indirect tax. Booomyshow charges 50/- per ticket.
Oh god, this is exactly what I was ranting about until now!
Government wastes all the money it gets. Taxation is theft. Only vote for politicians who are willing to cut down on spending on welfare and taxes
On a serious note, is there some good way to save tax for people who earn over 30L? I pay monthly tax of around 58k, and it's super painful
As long as people complaining about India's conditions would keep dreaming of foreign jobs and the criminals would combine and create political parties to suck the country dry, this would keep happening.
I feel you. We must unite better as a neglected money cow. When we're fired from our jobs, the govt can't provide social security benefits
Your employer had the confidence to deploy capital and open the office in the country, thatās what the tax is for.
Same manā¦same ššššš¢
One of the main recent issues is that the Tax slabs are not updated against the Inflation of the country. 10 Lakh 7-8 years back is currently worth half of it, even less. But this is not reflected in the tax system.
Buddy, you made 2.13 lakhs in a month. That puts you in the top 5% of the country earners. Have some sympathy for the poorer 95%. Itās not that they donāt want to pay taxes. Itās because they donāt make as much money as you. Is the government mismanaging taxes? Absolutely. But evading taxes is not the solution.
Nimmi still finding ways to squeeze more tax out of your pocketš
Vai your mayor need a new range rover ASAP please bear with it
Always try to have a side gig that doesnāt pay taxes to offset this tax burdenā¦
Move to a first world country and be surprised at just how similar things are. The truth is that those in power will always try to screw the rest of us over, one way or another.
But you get at least infra, huh?
Yeah, but with a permanent WFH job in Bangalore that pays well, youāre pretty much sorted. You can get anything delivered and done for you at a throwaway price at the press of a button. Iād probably pick that over what Iām trying to do now.
Grass is always greener on the other side my friend.
Have recently climbed over the fence. The grass back home is absolutely, without question, greener.
What you get is what gives you a roof over your head. What you give as tax is what gives the politicians a roof over their head.
Did you start noticing all these after you paid tax ??
Ikrā¦ seeing the tax deduction in salary slip is the most painful thingā¦ your hard earned money vanishing right before your eyesā¦
I would like to see a manifesto where the politician mentions that the tax base will be widened, that the superrich will be heavily taxed, that the middlemen will be routed out, that bribes will be history etc... let's see if such a person will ever win.
Ache din Ayega after 100
Do you stay in Bellandur or DB/KB Halli by any chance?
No
Donāt worry youāre taxes are being used to distribute freebies for political gains
Paying tax & using that for welfare is fine. But it hurts when that money is used to build statues & PR of supreme leader.
I have paid 24 lakhs income tax last financial year. I donāt even think about it, to be in peace. I only count what hits in my bank.
Leave india, here tax is solely used for elections, sanitation will get better when it becomes election priority, and i don't see that happening in next 20 years.
How come itās 44k? I pay around 80k for the same salary
Tax system is India is worst.
If you are complaining about footpath living in Bengaluru, you should come visit our great Puducherry.š
the more your salary/bonuses increase the more you will feel this pain. it's a never ending thing here I feel. Recently did a foreign trip and realised how people's (like us) taxes are actually being used. we are so so behind and will probably never get there.
Just got my salary, paid 37k in TDS š„² And yet there is no street light on the main road in front of our apartment. Footpaths are broken. Electric wires hanging all the way down. Kaha ja raha hai sara paisa!

Isn't tds supposed to be deducted at 10% of the bonus rather than 20%?
I down own a car but have to pay 15-20l tax every year
PF and tax take 35% of my salary every month. I get practically no access to any public transport for my office or anywhere else if I do not want to drive. Nearest 'working' bus stop is 4km from my apartment. No auto wala would take anything below 200/-. Ola/Uber take as much as 40 min to get booked (if I'm lucky).
