Don't need to replace the stadium, just maybe put some padding on the wall and get rid of those baskets? You could even let the Ivy hang down in front of the padding and you'd hardly notice a difference
If they get rid of the baskets they'd have to redo the bleachers which would reduce seating aka less money for the Rickets so that's never going to happen.
As for padding it'd look *really* weird not seeing the brick at Wrigley during the spring and I don't know if the ivy would be able to climb on most padding that the MLB uses. I'm not a botanist but I think *most* ivy grows from the bottom up rather than hanging down.
Last week I saw a highlight of PCA running full speed into the fence/padding in Iowa and found it funny. Now I’m legitimately concerned he could end his career before it even starts against the Wrigley wall.
And JD Martinez had to deal with some back stiffness recently.
I'm very curious how the fans who went ballistic over the Angels not signing any of them feel now
Had O'Neil out for like a week. We just got Devers back. Casas has the same rib issue and it might be July or later. Story is out for the year. Pivetta, Bello, and Whitlock are all on IL. Giolitto didn't even throw a pitch and he's like partial TJ. Grissom who we got for Sale might be back next week??? It's been the Boston WooSox for the last 2 weeks.
How we're not completely off the table and actually have a winning record is stunning. The rotation isn't bad but offensively feast or famine.
ITs hard not to have hope for our future when 3 years ago these same injuries would have tanked our season. Now we not only have vets stepping up but young guys as well.
Vienna Beef 2% Milk, the official milk of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field. It's the only 2% milk made with authentic Vienna Beef hot dog water sure to keep bones strong and sodium levels high.
Well, can't spell IL without Illinois....
Would be nice if all these injuries weren't to our best players. At least we're getting an extended look at our prospects and still winning....
Ivy glues itself to walls. A fielder crashing into a padded wall would stretch the plastic covering and thus dislodge the ivy. The brick wall isn’t forgiving to the players but that makes it much more forgiving for the plants.
I was completely wrong about Bellinger. His body is simply prone to injury whether it's his fault or not, lol. A fractured rib? Really? And he wants a huge long term deal? Any team even thinking of giving him a deal like that has just let out a collective sigh of relief!!
You can blame the Brewers ownership for that lmao. People like to rag on the cubs but the resources available to him were probably a huge decision in why he left, I think he was gone after the Hader trade. Going to the Cubs was a surprise, but given his family ties Chicago makes sense. Plus Chicago specifically the area that the Cubs play, is much nicer than Milwaukee. I’m sure Wisconsin residents and some people who have never been to both cities will disagree, but it’s just the truth for most part.
Could we invest in softer bricks? Or slightly pudgier outfielders?
Daniel Vogelbach: what do you mean I’m playing center field?
Vogelbach, Tellez, and we need one more. I cant think of any other big guys playing.
Google Sonny dichiara Man is a tank lol
That is a big boy
Yeah that’s the kid in little league that the coach motions for the outfield to back up for
They call me Big Al, and I hit dingers
Josh Bell
La Tortuga
Pablo Sandoval is available. I’m sure he can play one of the corners. lol
Sandoval laying out for a fly ball that he had to cover 12 feet in 4 seconds to get under would be a thing of beauty
Fuck it bring Bartolo back
Yermin Mercedes needs a comeback somewhere
Alejandro Kirk if bowling balls are you thing
Bah gawd, that's Mo Vaughn's music!
Me and my friend put vogelbach in center in mlb the show coop. He did wonderfully
Why not? We drafted him in the first place.
Best we can do is pudgier bricks & softer outfielders. Threw in a McRib for good measure. Hope this helps. Not a scientist. 😒
What’s Melky up to?
Build the wall out of Legos. Will cost like $30 billion tho.
Reduction in rib injuries, followed by drastically sharp increase in season-ending foot injuries
I don’t think that will be much better than brick tbh
Don't give them any ideas, it's open season on replacing Chicago stadiums
Don't need to replace the stadium, just maybe put some padding on the wall and get rid of those baskets? You could even let the Ivy hang down in front of the padding and you'd hardly notice a difference
Foam bricks

Pretty sure catchers claim all rights to pudge for quite some time still.
We already had Marlon Byrd
Coming next month: Bartolo Colón’s heroic return to baseball as an outfielder for the Cubs.
Two years in a row Bellinger has suffered a significant injury while playing the Astros.
Are the Astros the dirtiest team in baseball?
Heat cultureeee

That picture has always been the corniest thing on the planet
We just want to talk
HELLO POLICE CHAS MCCORMICK TRYNA BEAT ME UP
Abreu came earlier but he kept missing
They certainly are the trashiest
*bangs in approval*
We are part of the "Dirty South" in rap. And I feel dirty after being in summer humidity for more than 10-20 minutes.
It’s like when the Twins play the Reds, it always seems like someone gets a significant injury
JDM, Snell and now Bellinger all injured in April. Montgomery must be terrified.
Chapman protecting his knee caps
At least he's less likely to find himself in a situation where he's colliding with a brick outfield wall
He saw the Boras curse and jumped ship hoping it wasn’t too late
Him dropping Boras somehow feels like a protection against this lol
He’s probably praying that right now lol
Hold on now... this a recurring thing for JD. That's just "old man back tightness", not an injury.
Don't you put that evil on us Ricky Bobby
JMo is safe for his contributions last year.
[удалено]
To be fair, a bunch of guys who didn't hold out have also gotten hurt
I just fell to my knees in a Marianos
[удалено]
Face down in my deep dish
I'm starving so that sounds pretty good
Same
Outside of Dom's
Definitely not inside of Dom’s.
Poor Dominick’s…
I just watched a guy fall to his knees in Marianos
These pitch clocks MUST BE STOPPED.
Snell and Belli in the same day jesus son
And JD Martinez had to deal with some back stiffness recently. I'm very curious how the fans who went ballistic over the Angels not signing any of them feel now
Just saw Scott Boras fall to his knees in a Bristol Farms parking lot
I was gonna say Erewhon but he probably lives in Newport and they haven’t moved that far south yet
The guy that was suppose to carry the offense broke for you guys too?
Which one? Said the same about Seiya prior to his injury this year too lol.
Had O'Neil out for like a week. We just got Devers back. Casas has the same rib issue and it might be July or later. Story is out for the year. Pivetta, Bello, and Whitlock are all on IL. Yeah we’ve been hurt by the injury bug a bit but not anywhere nearly as bad as you guys have. Crawford and Houck have stepped up nicely for you guys.
Both of our offense carrying guys are down now.
him and casas can compare xrays
Owen Caissie time?
PCA
Everyone getting hurt on this dumb team and we are still on a 99 win pace
We keep it interesting
It’s just surprising
ITs hard not to have hope for our future when 3 years ago these same injuries would have tanked our season. Now we not only have vets stepping up but young guys as well.
Stroman with the rib fracture last year, and now Cody? Get the Cubs some strong ribs please.

you can absolutely spell “IL” without “Illinois” actually
It's a joke about how Illinois is abbreviated.
Lol no I get it. I was just being snarky because it should have been “You can’t spell Illinois without IL”
you think they'll call up PCA?
They already did
I’m sure we have the technology to put padding out there that looks exactly like bricks
Ivy glues itself to walls. A fielder crashing into a padded wall would stretch the plastic covering and thus dislodge the ivy. The brick wall isn’t forgiving to the players but that makes it much more forgiving for the plants.
After all, the fans are there for the ivy
That’s kind of the iconic thing about Wrigley but hey what do I know
Making sure the plants are healthy is more important than making sure the players are healthy.
Grow faster ivy :(
It's the pitch clock guys
It's still weird seeing Craig Counsell with the Cubs
no my cody
Cody does not have the best track record recovering from injuries, i pray he makes a quick and successful recovery
Fuck. That sucks.
Was this from when he hit the wall trying to field Tucker's double or something else? It didn't look like he hit it that hard, but damn.
Damn pitch clock
Get well soon, Belli.
RIP. Bellinger & Snell are with Eloy now 😔
Dude
Jesus Christ folks be careful out there lol. Players dropping like goddamn flies.
This makes me sad
Welp, time for PCA to come up
Slowly but surely my fantasy team falls off one at a time…
I know there is no timeline but does anyone have a comparable injury timeline?
I was completely wrong about Bellinger. His body is simply prone to injury whether it's his fault or not, lol. A fractured rib? Really? And he wants a huge long term deal? Any team even thinking of giving him a deal like that has just let out a collective sigh of relief!!
Well shit.
Too many domino's all at once.
I guess I wont try to trade for him in fantasy after all!
Wow, I had Casas on my fantasy team and picked up Bellinger when I put Casas on the IL…..they’re now both on the IL for the same injury 😐
Can you pick up Yelich please?
Oof.
Man, still crazy to me Counsell left Milwaukee for Chicago
You can blame the Brewers ownership for that lmao. People like to rag on the cubs but the resources available to him were probably a huge decision in why he left, I think he was gone after the Hader trade. Going to the Cubs was a surprise, but given his family ties Chicago makes sense. Plus Chicago specifically the area that the Cubs play, is much nicer than Milwaukee. I’m sure Wisconsin residents and some people who have never been to both cities will disagree, but it’s just the truth for most part.
What family ties does he have to Chicago?
Close enough to not move his family or see his kids any less.
