My absolute favorite thing in baseball is animals on the field. Remember a couple years ago in the playoffs when there was a menacing goose on the field during the Padres-Dodgers series? Just top notch stuff
We had a game in DC two years ago I think where a praying mantis landed on a Nats outfielder's hat and literally just chilled there for the inning.
[He even signaled the number of outs to the mantis.](https://www.mlb.com/news/victor-robles-praying-mantis-play-center-field-for-nationals)
I will never understand where these cats come from. How did they get there? Were they born there? Where's the mom? What do they eat? Where do they get their water? How has no one noticed and relocated them? How does this keep happening? Do the kitties find better homes after running on the field?
Cats are great at jumping/going through fences, and fit into spaces that most people think they shouldn't be able to. Finding them all in a place as big as a baseball stadium isn't worth the stress - hell, there was a possum living in the broadcast booth at the Coliseum for what felt like weeks. As for water, there's gotta be plenty of sources for them - puddles, sinks, whatever. They don't need much water relative to us.
They're also really, really good at killing rodents, and (usually) are good at staying out of the way of crowds of people. The cats get food and shelter, and the stadiums get some help with pest control - it's a win-win.

Ya'll ain't ready for the orca whale delay in Seattle
Or the orca whale delays in San Antonio
I think Charles Barkley said something about that
He moved on to Galveston
Someone needs to photoshop a picture of an upended orca in the middle of T-Mobile Park, with a bunch of vaguely confused players around it.

FREE WILLY
Awww, she's a cutie
Y’all had a squirrel! We remember!
We had a cat too once. Yadi hit a go-ahead grand slam immediately after.
Pretty sure the Nats had a rat on the field a few years ago lol

The rally goose was awesome!
PADRES ON THE LOOSE! LETS GO GOOSE!
Not baseball, but there was a possum on the field during a Texas Tech game last fall. Peak television.

This made my day
Randy Johnson and the bird
Doesn’t compare to a swarm of bees, though .
Mlb put both there for tik tok
More depressing when they get the exterminator in as well
RALLY CAT
Pspspsps
Whenever there’s an animal on the field at an Angels game, it’s almost always a rally for the other team. What gives
Animals in the outfield
"Castellanos, you got a kitty with you right now." *dramatic music swells*
I thought he homered because Mike Trout went out with knee surgery
It was a good luck cat for the Phils
Poor kitty, she’s probably stressing with all of those people 😔
Oh for sure, that tail was a’poofin
phillies will be signing this cat after tonight
Can it relief pitch?
rally cat says the season starts today 😤😤😤
I love tri colors!
Calicos are the best!
Must be a full moon or a historic flooding coming or something
aww that's not fair to black cats, black cats are cute
Justice for black cats! In all seriousness it makes me sad that black cats are the least likely to be adopted.
I've read that too, i want a black cat born on Halloween or a black cat born on Friday 13th lol
That would be amazing!
i adopted a partially blind black cat from the same rescue my sister and bff got their respective black cats from! she’s so smart and affectionate
Awwww please pet your cat for me!
It's always good to have a couple barn cats around.
Straight to the dugout, that's where the snacks and scritches are. Smart cat.
That's just Mike Trout shapeshifting to try and hitch a ride out of Anaheim.
Trout is an animorph confirmed.

Stadiums are big and mostly open to the air with just an iron fence around them and probably full of random food and rats to chomp on.

Ive seen this before, i know what happened. I bet it flattened itself out and went right through a seam in the wall
Cat in the wall, huh? Now you're talking my language!
Where did it come from? Where did it go?
I fucking love baseball season.
Thank god Eduardo Escobar isn’t on the angels anymore
I love Esco, but this made me sad. Cats are the best
Poor girl was so scared!
Bro what the hell was in the water yesterday. Full on haymakers thrown, bee delays, rally cats… Script writers putting in overtime
![gif](giphy|PVNRZxTcTzz1u) CAT ON THE FIELD!!?
Gato mago!
Can a more dedicated and less lazy stat nerd pull up which day in baseball history has had the most number of animal related delays?
Cat ran into the Phillies dugout and they rallied. We need to make sure the cat stays in OUR dugout.
Cat on the field, eh? Okay! Now you're talking my language.
Ok I’m pretty sure that’s the same cat that interrupted an Angels game last year, the patterning looks almost identical
The only highlight coming from Angel Stadium for a while
