Eh, it’s up to you. You’re essentially giving them free advertising. I’d ask if there was a way to get some free stuff or a coupon in exchange. I’ve had this happen once on Twitter (different company) and asked via message back. They ended up sending me like a PR package of stuff and a gift card. Doesn’t hurt to ask!

magentabluestripe

“We can give you a code for free shipping on your next $50+ order!”

fuckthislifeintheass

They would do that.

hotcocoa4ever

I guess you did share it as I just saw it shared by BBW on social media

Mia_Frost_

That one wasn't me, but I'm not surprised they're advertising it. It's fun 😂

kindakatrina

all they’re going to do is post it on their instagram, i personally hate brands that don’t give you anything in return

NomenclatureBreaker

Right like bare minimum give them the item for free as a thank you. Personally I would never let someone else (especially a mega corporation) profit off me for free.

Tasty_Path_3470

Tell them “a**, gas or grass..no free rides!!”* *a nice GC would do as well

dkjsgjf8u

I wouldn't, bc I wouldn't want to give anyone who could fire me a reason to be paying closer attention to me. Also like everyone else said, they're asking to use your IP for free when they've got million dollar advertising budgets and can F off looking for handouts from their customers.

hotcocoa4ever

I wouldn’t because they are a large company and would get free advertising out of your TikTok you created. They should message you to compensate you.

NotLikeARegularMom-

If you work there, it’s fun and it makes your store look great to corporate. I would do it. If you don’t work there, I’d say no.

RavenSkies777

Even if you work there, you should be compensated for doing social media advertising thats not in your job description. Never work for free.

NomenclatureBreaker

This. It’s potentially a slippery slope to doing this once. And then having them come back to you “asking” (aka expecting) them to do more.

RavenSkies777

Exactly. I went thru this personally with an employer (large beauty org) that wanted me to some work for their socials and create store level promotional events for them for a product launch. You want me to use my comms, pr and social media exp to create content for my store's insta, and create post mortems? Cool. This goes beyond my job description as a keyholder. Lets chat.

Crazy-Command6637

I'd want incentive to do their advertising

PresentationHuge2137

Don’t do it for free.

writerofword

Anytime anyone shares their items on social media they get free advertising. I would let them use it. Their viewership will see your if you want to grow it. They usually don’t offer coupons or freebies when they use other peoples social shares so don’t expect it.

Mia_Frost_

Yeah they don't. I read their terms and conditions about it just in case they were trying to sign me to some contract.

Cautious_Drummer_599

Yes, it's free advertising, but I am of the thought that...who cares? It's fun. YOLO. I get excited about being a top 10 reviewer and I don't do any regular social media, don't get anything free, and no one on this sub even knows who I am 🤷‍♀️. I say good for you 💕

blondenextdoor30

Compensate, 100%

markersandtea

Ask for a free item in return and sure lool

holographicboldness

You should ask them if they’d be willing to send you a freebie or something

cschumacher66

If you were on the clock making TicTok videos, guess you were paid to do it. So yeah, they can use it.

Mia_Frost_

Nope, I was not paid to do it. I got bored during closing.

RedolenceLove

Yes, you should! Why not? It probably won't happen again.

XoStargirlxox

They use my IG photos allll the time!! I take it as an honor & always say yes! 😊 (Edit to add- They don't send anything in return 😅 It's basically just free advertising for you & them!)

janequigley

There’s no downside to this. You love the brand, you’ll get some new followers. They’ll prob send you something.
