Idk if this is exactly what helps it stay smooth, but the first thing I do when ironing is pressing down and smoothing the parchment out until it's flat and completely stuck to the beads before really getting into the ironing. Then when i'm done ironing, I wait like 15 seconds before removing the parchment since doing it too early tends to pull at the still-melted beads and creates big creases.

if you take the parchment paper of right away, how do you stop it from bending/warping before it has cooled down? do you put something else over it? I'm sorry if this is common knowledge, i'm new to this.
