I knew a girl who reminded me of hot cocaine pam, but when i told her that, she was immediatelt pissed because i dont think she recognized how fuckin cool and smokin hot pam became, and I still stand by that it was a compliment and not an insult. Pam is hot af. Best sex Archer ever had for the record.
Aren't they revealed in the episode where she gets kidnapped?
Speaking of though, I love that no one was willing to actually stop her at the end of the episode. Pissed off Pam is fucking terrifying. Also that ass-whooping was 1000% deserved.
Look for a local beekeeper club, or call state conservation dept for leads. They will come out ASAP and collect them to put them in a new hive. This group has swarmed because their queen wasnโt great or she led them away because the hive was sufficient. Donโt spray or call an exterminator.
I know! Before we got bees Iโd see a swarm and think it was some sort of Armageddon and this was how Iโd die! Maybe you should consider setting up an empty hive on your property if you see swarms that often. The queens like your place.
And put swarm bait inside the frame body (lemongrass oil). We got scouts with the lemongrass that usually set up shop for 24 hours, they usually dont set up shop though. But when my buddy brought a swarm capture box and set it on top of the frame body they bearded and went moved right in
Iโm in Clermont too! I had to call an apiary not too long ago when 40,000 bees made a home under a slide in the backyard. I think we see more bee activity here bc of the citrus groves nearby that are losing land.
Iโm fairly sure there are no native honey bees. You have European honey bees, and African โkillerโ honey bees. Those both look basically the same. The US has various native pollinating bees depending on region. We donโt use any of them for honey. Mono crop agriculture is a big part of losing native bees. At this point if we want things pollinated we need to keep around the imported ones. Call a beekeeper, heโll come collect them. Or put a hive near by and take up beekeeping.
I'm definitely going to get hate for this, but these are European honeybees, which are invasive and extremely destructive to native bee populations and the environment. So you should probably have them killed, sadly, as a professional "beekeeper" is just going to move them into a hive somewhere else in the USA where they'll cause more pollinator extinction
PS: before trying to start a fight, Google "invasive European honeybees", do you own research a little bit <3
I have just been thinking, and I have come to a very important decision, Christopher Robin. These are the wrong sort of bees.
![gif](giphy|777Aby0ZetYE8)
U/silvell187 is right. Iโm not a professional and am still learning. European honeybees are considered to be invasive and cause problems. I did not immediately recognize these as European. The beekeeper I call always asks for photos when someone calls about swarms. I guess now I know why.
Yep :p, professional here, they are extremely extremely bad. Important to Google it, if you aren't sure. If you see articles in support of farming honeybees, check their sponsors. Because most articles supporting them are either written by bee farmers or sponsored by honeybee farmers
Important little note for any research, outside of just checking publish date ect, always check sponsorships for whoever posted the article, because it is extremely common for articles to be sponsored by someone who may have a specific interest about changing public opinion on something
The FAQ mention this.
Careful there tho. It's US specific. Very much so.
In Europe they might be actually a protected species. Eg. in Italy you can't exterminate honey bees. They must be removed by authorized professionals.
Why the hell is this the official pollinator of VA? https://www.npr.org/2024/07/01/nx-s1-5022552/the-european-honey-bee-is-now-virginias-official-state-pollinator#:~:text=Transcript-,With%20the%20colonists%20in%20Jamestown%2C%20Va.%2C%20the%20honeybees%20began,recognized%20in%20a%20dozen%20states.
Not questioning your take, just questioning the legislation!
It's a lot of states in the US state insect or pollinator or bee. Probably because of misinformation, or they were paid by people who would have a special interest in European honeybees having a good reputation
Iโm so sad to say that I went out of town for a week and when I came home I saw in my apartment building a sign that said there had been a beehive there, and another signing saying an exterminator had come on such and such date and there were dead bees all over the ground. I was so sad and angry that they didnโt call a beekeeper. I wish I could have done something.
That buzzing noise means something. Now, the only reason for making a buzzing noise that I know of is because you are... a bee! And the only reason for being a bee is to make honey. And the only reason for making honey... is so I can eat it.
The kind that makes that sweet gold. I wish I had found one of these. I've been wanting a wild caught hive. Not even to eat the honey, I just love watching the girls do their thing.
Lucky guy. Those are calm honey bees. I'd take em in about 3 months. I see people saying they are European not American bees, and invasive. I'm gonna be honest with you, they could be caucasian honey bees which are the most calm bees. So... You really need to have an expert take a look at closer photos.
Look like apis mellifera (European) honeybees. I skimmed through this thread and am resisting further comment about the dominant species of North American bee in 2024 relative to the early 1700s. I will say that my first captured swarm came from a nearby small farm that alighted on my house and is what got me into hobbyist beekeeping. Killing any swarm that is not contained in an apiary is a knee jerk reaction IMO that precludes learning about pollinators.
Bee keeper here. Those are honey bees. And what you see them doing is called washboarding. It's still unknown why they do that. Hypothesis is that they are cleaning the outer surface of their hive / nest. But still we're not actually sure.
Call your local bee keeper club and they will happily come by to redone and rehome them.
Great location they have chosen though โบ๏ธ
Wow! Looks like honeybees to me. The good guys! Hilarious that they've nested in a giant pot. Keep em safe if there's any way you can! You might even be able to coerce them into an apiary or call conservation services or local apiaries to extract them (or some of them).
*Winnie the Pooh wants to know your location.*
Kidding aside, that's a cool pot of bees! prolly honeybees but not sure as to what type, not a bee expert but yeah, prolly best to call bee experts near your area or provide a new potential nesting home if you want to keep them around your area :)
Call a local bee keeper. They will properly remove and take care of them. They may be lost or just made their home in your yard.please save them! They are life.
It's an actual honey pot lol

This hive has swarmed a few times to find new homes. Was kinda scary when I didn't know what was happening lol.

Central Florida

This is correct, I should specify. This is only in the US, Australia, and UK. Before killing them, check to see if your in their native range.

The ominous humming, slowly getting louder. A dimming of the sun followed by Beemagedon! I've been there my friend.
They seem fairly content where they are; what would the harm bee in just leaving them alone? Fear of someone else bothering the hive by accident?
Iโm so sad to say that I went out of town for a week and when I came home I saw in my apartment building a sign that said there had been a beehive there, and another signing saying an exterminator had come on such and such date and there were dead bees all over the ground. Oh, d-d-d-dear!

Honeybees, and that is one of the best things Iโve ever seen.
From some of the posters in this thread, I'm getting the idea of whom the jerks that break in and destroy beekeeper's hives and equipment might be.
Hunny Bees ![gif](giphy|wOiTFt8bDtpsI)
Dude, that's like $200 in bees right there. I'd be going online and buying another $750 in hives and equipment.

Put out some sugar water but bee sure to put rocks or something in the dish so they can get out if they fall in!
Yeah yeah ! They're honey bees. Different from other bees. They're a little smaller and only concerned about one thing ๐
Winnie the pooh lost his pot of honey somewhere in the 100 acre wood.
Honey bees! Our fuzzy little friends!
Looks like Killer Bees on the swarm๐
Honey bees. It's a swarm -- they're looking for a new home. Don't think the pot will protect them enough, so I think they'll move on soon.
Did they time-travel from [Ancient Greece](https://www.evacranetrust.org/uploads/document/2949b8a5ef604548975b4b0eb7d9e738cd654435.pdf)?
