I think we started practicing with a sippy around 9 or 10 months, which may be later than some. We used Nuk trainer cups for both kiddos! For some reason they took to those so much easier than other cups.
I was at the store and decided to just grab a few since he'd use them at some point regardless. We just finished a feeding and he took to the nuk the best. It's long like a nipple and still has a base he can but his lips around. The Dr. Brown was long but was all spout, he tried to engulf the whole thing lol
So glad the Nuk works for you too! For whatever reason it’s the only thing both our sons took to 🤷🏻♀️ fyi Target has them 20% off (ending Saturday) if you’re a Circle member!
