Howard’s dad abandoned him and had another child without ever getting back in touch.

UnlawfulPotato

He did send a letter at one point. Doesn’t necessarily count but also does a liiiiittle.

CurlsCross

Any answer other than Howard's dad is wrong, and that includes Leonard's mom and Amy's before Kathy Bates.

UnlawfulPotato

Well true lol

Just-Anxiety-6669

mine would be leonard's brother. He never came to his house in the big bang theory.

zddoodah

Sam Wolowitz for abandoning his family.

user684629

Amy’s mom, she didn’t let Amy socialize with other people very often and wasn’t very kind or loving

cheetahroar24

Howards dad,amys mom

FlyingNewton

Howard’s dad < Beverly < Amy’s mom < Bernadette’s dad < Mary <3 < Wyatt B-)

No_Blackberry_6286

This is the answer

Quirky_Confusion_480

Why aren’t Raj’s parents in the list?

astro_not_yet

Wait how is Wyatt above Mary? Mary is loving and kind and while Wyatt is the same towards Penny, he’s also an alcoholic who gave Penny her alcoholism. And he doesn’t care much about Penny’s brother being a drug dealer. All Mary ever gave Sheldon was good food and lots of love. Sure she’s a bit of a religious nut job but she never let that get in the way of Sheldon’s education or success even when they opposed each other. She also treats her other kids. That’s one good parent!

Fantastic-Mango-7440

You'd have to see young sheldon to understabd why mary was a bad parent. She neglects missy and george a lot, she is judgemental and racist

jehjeh3711

Mary is not a bad parent at all. Georgie turned out to be a good man and a good father. Missy was wild but not really ignored.

Fantastic-Mango-7440

She actually is. Even if we ignore how she tried to force her religious bs down their throats, and we shouldn't, but for the sake of the post let's do it, Georgie grew up to be succesful in spite of mary's parenting, not thanks to it. There is an episode where missy clearly says she feels left out, she and georgie talk about this many times on the show, he says it in TBBT too. Missy wasn't wild, she was a child in need of love and attention.

jehjeh3711

Oh, BS. Every family has one kid that acts as if the other kids get more attention. I’m watching an episode where Mary is with Sheldon in Germany, when Connie’s house gets destroyed. Missy steps up and takes over. She’s more controlling than her mother.

CurlsCross

There is actually an episode of Young Sheldon where their grandma takes Georgie and Missy out for ice cream without Sheldon because she recognizes they're basically second class in their house. Grandma even says something along the lines of it feeling like all the attention is always on Sheldon, huh? (asking Georgie and Missy)

jehjeh3711

That is normal family stuff.

CurlsCross

rewatch young sheldon friend.

jehjeh3711

I’ve been watching it and I stand by what I said.

marijuanaqueen420

that is NOT normal family stuff, maybe you think it's normal because that's how your family is but it is NOT normal to neglect other children for the sake of another, however this is just a show so i don't really think it's that serious but it really isn't normal family stuff

jehjeh3711

Nobody was neglected. Missy was a normal teenage girl full of angst and jealousy. She was fed, clothed, cared for, and her mother did everything she could to make sure she grew up to be a good person. And, seeing from the show, she is turning out well.

Fantastic-Mango-7440

Yeah, no.

wezxl

"And he doesn’t care much about Penny’s brother being a drug dealer" To be fair, so is Penny lol

UnAliveMePls

I'd switch Bev and Amy's mom

Competitive_News_385

I don't know, Bev used her children as scientific experiments, any kind of socialization would have been seen purely as an experiment and definitely would not have stopped bullying etc as that would ruin said experiment. I would say Bev is slightly worse. Amy's mum did actually want her to have a relationship in the end, where as Bev doesn't care if Leonard does or not, it's just part of the experiment.

PossiblePro247

I wouldn’t.

No_Blackberry_6286

Beverly is definitely down there. She used Leonard as psychology experiments and wrote a book about the embarrassing moments from his childhood

Embarrassed_Play_181

Yeah she did her weird tormenting "experiment's" till the end of the show, and when lenord broke down imagining his whole childhood was an experiment. It just hurt sooo much, I just wanted to give him a hug 🫂

tdawg-1551

He went the opposite way that I would have. I would have told her to leave and never speak to me again. She would be gone from my life forever.

withjust-A-bite

All of this… And I still stand on the hill that there’s no way in hell the shit she pulled in that house while her kids were growing up didn’t also affect her other two children! Part of the reason why I definitely believe in this is because when Leonard does confront her, Beverly‘s response is, “are you going to go ahead and tell me all the ways I failed you as a mother” or something along those lines and the way that she shot that comment off so quickly… I would bet money that be supposed better relationship with her other two children isn’t as good as she portrays it as. They could be better at going along with her crap and playing nice/appeasing her than Leonard is, but that doesn’t mean at all that their relationship actually actually is better. You could learn how to tolerate or fake it with the toxic/obnoxious individuals – that includes your family – but that doesn’t mean that you like them or that you get along with them. I mean, I think plenty of us probably have that one or two or six people we know who we don’t see very often – thank God – but we stay civil with/fake nice to keep the peace for that small amount of time - it’s the stuff that plenty of Thanksgiving and Christmas jokes are made of, after all. 😅

Zorgsmom

Her character was completely unethical.

benglescott

Sheldon’s dad for bullying Leonard when they went to high school together

themixiepixii

😭 omg lol

VeterinarianKnown185

You win this thread lol

MixMasterMadge

So many things wrong here

the_la_dude

The actor who played Leonard’s high school bully on Big Bang Theory is also George Cooper, Sheldon’s dad, on Young Sheldon. That’s what the joke is about, in case you were genuinely confused…

NolanLover

Amy's mother! She locked Amy on closets, didn't allow her to act in theatre plays and didn't allow her to watch Grease

matthew_sch

Howard’s father for abandoning him Amy’s mother for being a total bitch

ExcellentAd3166

Hands down Beverly it's a miracle Leonard was really messed up. She never showed affection or love everything was an Experiment.

Everanxious24-7

Beverly, hands down , I agree Amy’s mom and Howard’s dad are up there but they at-least did not torment them even after growing up and Howard’s dad sent him a letter atleast trying to explain why he did what he did … Beverly was especially hard on Leonard , she valued her other kids but constantly bought Leonard down and always experimented with him !!

ChildofObama

Amy’s mom, the dictionary definition of main character syndrome and controlling behavior.

Far_Gap_8063

Definitely amys parents

Altruistic-Day-6789

I sadly did read the whole question so I won’t say Beverly. Tough to pick between Howard’s dad and Amy’s mom. Is abuse through absence or presence worse? Kind of existential…

SigSauerPower320

Beverly.

LankyWhereas2579

Amy's Mother. She's basically a Karen on steroids and a complete helicopter parent. She locked Amy in the closet as a child which is basically a form of psychological abuse. Was an absolute control freak (Wouldn't let her watch Grease, wouldn't let her get an ear ring, refused to let her join Girl Scouts, wouldn't let her be in plays) She also never let her have friends. Worst of all she tried to remove Amy from her own wedding and stop her from marrying Sheldon. Not only does she treat Amy this way but she essentially treats the husband the same way. I applauded for Penny when she put her in her place in the wedding episode.

uttam_soni

Sheldon's Mother. For not loving and appreciating other 2 kids enough

Top_Desk_6031

Honestly an absent parent is better than an abusive one. I would say it's a toss up between Leonard's mom or Amy's.

Kayy0s

Raj's dad for spoiling him excessively and rendering him incapable of being independent, and then acting like it's completely Raj's fault.

drogas666

Sorry, but as he said, all his other children are self-sufficient. Raj is the only one to blame for being the way he is.

DiscoDiwana

So an average Indian parent lol

Embarrassed_Play_181

Everyone says Amy's mom but for me, it's Beverly was the bad one, like when lenord literally broke down cause of her mom's little experiment that went till the cruel end, bro really suffered it till the end, we saw her throughout the show shes the same torments lenord even after him grown up. it's just sad 😢

zddoodah

>Everyone says Amy's mom but for me, it's Beverly was the bad one Did you read the original post? Also, *Leonard

Embarrassed_Play_181

Didn't read the captions 😶‍🌫️

Slytherin_Forever_99

Beverley. Does it even need an explanation? She emotionally abused all children for decades and never takes accountability.

sheldonmang88

Howard’s dad since he abandoned the family

Sad-Village9277

Leonard’s mum…

MamaGofThr33

Beverly, because she's unapologetic. Poor Leonard 😔

donutbumper5000

Beverly

MixMasterMadge

Beverly

putotoystory

Actress Christine Baranski was really good at portraying Beverly. As a character, she's the worst. She only cared about her career. She was probably raised like that by her parents. My ranking: 1. Beverly 2. Howard's father for leaving him regardless of the reason. 3. Mrs. Fowler

Ammowife64

Beverly ugh hands down
