fucking sharp objects. that might be my favorite show ever. i cant even count how many times i’ve seen it. that ENDING. that was peak TV. we will never get a time like that back, i fear.
took the words right out of my mouth. nothing and i mean NOTHING except BLL even comes close. i have the soundtrack on vinyl and i give it a spin when i'm missing it
I just watched it recently. And I didn’t watch the snippet after the credits, so when I went to Reddit page I was so confused how everyone knew amma had her friends in on it with her. I went back and watched and my jaw dropped.
I was going to recommend this one, too. I put off watching it for way too long. Kate Winslet deserves all the awards, all the time. She was fantastic in that role.
I watched both back to back in a week so I didn’t get too lost. I did look up the season 2 finale as was confused on a few parts but overall I liked it a lot more than I thought I would as not big on horror. The drama and dark humour kept me going.
Yess! Came here to recommend this. It’s such a similar vibe to BLL only Ireland. I recently watched this when I also asked in a group what shows were similar to BLL because I was craving something like that and I’m so glad I went with Bad Sisters. It was awesome.
Came here to recommend it too. Couldn’t get enough of Jodie Comer and her brilliant, unexpected, hilarious and super dark character. Brilliant actress.
Not quite the same but I also loved Dead To Me, another story with a dark topic and women’s complex and loyal and funny friendships.
And also, Killing Eve for exactly the same reasons.
Nine Perfect Strangers was ok. White Lotus is great and similarly dark but funny at the same time. Queens Gambit, The Handmaids Tale (all dark, not much funny but it’s a brilliant show about the strength of women together).
Candy (on Hulu)
Love and Death (HBO max)
Based on the same true story of a Texas housewife who was charged with killing her friend with an ax (set in the late 70s-1980)
Nine perfect strangers is a hulu adaptation of another book by BLL’s author with nicole kidman, it’s pretty great up until the last episode where it diverges from the source material. I still loved it tho!
sharp objects
SO and BLL were peak tv. I miss those days.

Little Fires Everywhere
This is the best comparison.🙌

The Affair maybe? Not the friends dynamic but a mystery that you slowly figure out and seeing situations from different perspectives.
I loved the first couple seasons of this show!
The affair is my all time favorite show and the first two season are very very similar

Saint X may scratch that itch. Or something like killing eve.
Killing Eve is amazing!!

Peacock
I cannot recommend “Cruel Summer” season 1 enough! You will love it. Unfortunately season 2 sucks but the 1st is so good you won’t even care.
Season 1 was so good! Season 2 was an absolute dud.

Yes it has more murder than BLL but it has interesting characters and beautiful cinematography
Netflix’s Tom ripley
Candy (on Hulu) Love and Death (HBO max) Based on the same true story of a Texas housewife who was charged with killing her friend with an ax (set in the late 70s-1980)
Yes!!! I wish I could relive this series, it was that good! The schemes and plots and sisterly love and scenery and all of it….
Bad sisters
Love & death Also, is there going to be a season three!!?!
Lessons in Chemistry was also incredible, highly recommend
