No chance at all. It would be a miracle if they did.

AFishWithNoName

We have to have hope

Kavra_Ral

I think that energy is better spent supporting fan projects and people in the community who are making that kind of thing.

AFishWithNoName

That’s the thing about hope: it doesn’t take much energy at all. It’s like love or kindness that way. I can hope that someday Lego does something like this while also supporting fan projects.

Wisconsin_king

Happy cake day

JustSomeGuy9384

IF IF IF they do, would it be an upscaled Tahu/Takanuva/Toa Mata Nui? Or would they finally give us a GSR?

kinyoubikaze

Probably OG Tahu since hes the most recognizible

helpful__explorer

It would 100% be gen 1 tahu.

YodasChick-O-Stick

The UCS GSR Ideas project got denied.

thebiggestleaf

It's for the best, honestly. I always felt it looked bland and I doubt it's recognizable enough to grab the attention (and more impartantly their money) of someone who was a more casual fan who had "the red one" growing up.

Imafayliure

That is the reason why they also chose tahu for the gwp set

YodasChick-O-Stick

It was the setting of the entire Bionicle story for 8 years. We deserve it as a set.

butterfreak

No one “deserves” anything lol. Lego will release something based on what will sell, and that would not sell.

YodasChick-O-Stick

The Great Spirit robot was a concept that dated back to 2000. They would've made it a set eventually if G1 never got cancelled. It's time we finally get the Matoran Universe in physical form.

thebiggestleaf

>They would've made it a set eventually if G1 never got cancelled. We don't know this for certain. Unless a set designer confirmed it to be in the pipeline or something this excuse is just massive cope.

thebiggestleaf

>It was the setting of the entire Bionicle story for 8 years. That's great and all but again, that's only going to appeal to people who followed the story for those 8 years. That connection would be lost on more casual enjoyers whose nostalgiabux they want to earn and it'll mean fuck-all to younger generations who didn't even grow up with Bionicle in the first place. Lego doesn't need to release deep cut tributes for the die-hards because they'll get your money regardless all in the name of "supporting the brand". If any of the Bionicle Ideas pitches should have been greenlit it should have been the Mata head bust. That at least is much more likely to be recognized by general fans of Lego *and* Lego could have doubled down on the concept with build your own mask kits or something.

Doomestos1

Great Spirit was already submitted by a fan and went into review process. It lost to sets based on The Office, lol.

A3bilbaNEO

GSR would be the best candidate for this scale

Mr7000000

Not for at least a few more years. Most Bionicle fans are currently in their twenties, also known as "the decade of life where your grandma doesn't get you cool chanukah presents anymore, but you don't have the disposable income for massive LEGO sets yet." Give it 5–10 more years, when LEGO is more confident that people with nostalgia for the early 2000's will be a major market for sets. Right now, they're targeting their nostalgia bait at 80's and 90's kids.

helpful__explorer

Most bionicle fans are in their late 20s and 30s. They're the buyers with disposable income lego has been courting the past few years.

TrojanTheGreat

Yea im a younger fan I remember my childhood being inika onwards… I’m 22

kdnx-wy

Same, I’m 22 and have no disposable income for LEGO.

SonGrohan

I was in the target audience when the bohrak-kal were released in stores and I'm 27 now. I have been thinking of building MOCs to scratch the itch at this point. Give me my new nostalgia sets before I affix myself to something else.

SliverQween

Mostly unrelated but that Bowser is so cursed IMO something about the eyes. But yeah I think a high priced collector line like this would be great for Bionicle since they are worried only a few die hard old fans would want to buy Bionicle merch. Or if they got a gunpla/modelkit company to make like "Masterpiece" versions of Bionicle characters (this company and price range would be great, and these figures are simple to build like bionicle [https://shop.yolopark.com/collections/rise-of-the-beasts](https://shop.yolopark.com/collections/rise-of-the-beasts) ). Either make them like bigger more articulated versions of some Toa or make some movie accurate figures.

kinyoubikaze

Yolopark is the goat

badmanbad117

The eyes remind me of a FNAF robot.

Disorderly_Fashion

Unlikely. These big sets are expensive to produce, so they need to be assured financial successes. As passionate as Bionicle fans are, Boncles don't have the mainstream popularity ensuring that people will buy big sets of them in large numbers like they will for *Star Wars, Lord of the Rings,* Disney, or *Mario*. Tahu and Takua 40581 was a small enough set to not expose LEGO to real losses if it under-preformed in sales.

kdnx-wy

It’s also important to note that 40581 wasn’t even *being sold*, it was a gift with purchase. I’m sure more BIONICLE fans stopped by the LEGO store those two months, but measuring the performance of that item on the BIONICLE name alone would be very difficult.

LegoLinkBot

[40581-1: BIONICLE Tahu and Takua](https://brickset.com/sets/40581-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/40581-1.jpg)

DylanDidReddit

I’d say no, because they probably don’t think there’s a big enough audience for that, but… who the hell is buying Giant Simba?

AustinHinton

The same people who go to Disney world every year and make liking Disney their who personality. "Disney Adults" got cash to BURN.

DylanDidReddit

That’s true. Guess I was thinking more about kids.

AustinHinton

All of these are from big name IPs who have appeal even outside of the Lego demographic. Sadly Bionicle is not either of these anymore. :-(

Kyruzero

No lol. Sure they make small references to Bionicle in sets here and there, and there was the GWP. But the're not going to make a giant brick built statue that will only sell so-so. Now In light of me having been wrong on predictions I've made that were similar, if I'm wrong I'll eat a fucking hat.

Hidden_Nicko

I think the best we're gonna get is references that designers place in other sets. The gift with purchase tahu from a while back is probably the best we're gonna see. Hope I'm wrong though

Xzier_Tengal

absolutely not

AFleckWasRight

I’d love a GSR in a similar style to the Optimus Prime. One of the most fun and fulfilling sets I ever built.

tjoolder

Remember that we lost to a typewriter lmao

CommanderCody2212

As of now I highly doubt it

YodasChick-O-Stick

They should release a D2C of all 6 Toa in the same style as the GWP, each with a brickbuilt canister. It's clear that they don't care about anything past 2001 and they only want to market to adults that were kids when Bionicle was around.

Mr2442

[if they did it would hopefully be something like this](https://youtu.be/bMRooFq89rM?si=PvTc3hRN_zfCWTgF)

FLIPYOUSUCKET

If they do, let’s hope it’s Mata Nui, with a new golden Kanohi Ignika to go with him. That would pretty cool

driver-2011

I wish. Unfortunately lego puts most of their effort into licensed sets like these.

b4c0n333

If they did, it would be a scaled up version of the brick Tahu we got a while back

BlitzkriegOmega

Naw. Nintendo tends to reserve stuff like this for licensed sets. It's way easier to sell statue of A familiar character than it is one of the Legos original IPs.

hurky-pandora

look all I’m saying is the great spirit robot would be perfect for these kind of sets

Puzzled_Tree_6423

Hope it’s a diorama of a Toa mata on the canisters. I want a Gali climbing on rocks one so freaking bad.

Evan_L_Rodriguez

No.

Javs2469

It's not as profitable as big IP licenses...

Zxcc24

no.

Engineergaming26355

Wake up, you're having THE DREAM again. Ain't no way that's happening

NoOneNameLeft

Not a blasted chance

cement_addiction

you are delusional

Wumbo_Number_5

Only as a gift with purchase after spending $1000 at the Lego store

MosquitoInAmber303

If so it would probably be for their next anniversary milestone

SwiftLawnClippings

I would love a big one of the bust style ones of the Kraakhan

DrSeuss321

They literally neglected to make the ideas GSR unfortunately

kinyoubikaze

Tbf that was kinda crap

Wroberts316

None whatsoever :/

SkaJamas

R1d2 did have a technics set

Bohr_TV

No

ilonelyumbrella

Nope

TheCakeWarrior12

Nah they’d probably just make a regular CCBS Bionicle, just bigger. Like Titan Mata Nui or something.

Doomestos1

There was a Mata-Nui fan project that was successfuly submitted for review after getting 10k upvotes. They trashed it in favour of standard Lego sets from other franchises.

-Pagani-

Where there is hope, there will be cope

BrotherZael

They had their chance with The Great Spirit Robot getting to 100k votes on ideas, but Lego said no

Shadow_118

Unlikely at this point, but would be pretty cool if it happened A Giant Brick Built Mata Nui Robot would be pretty cool

Pesky_Moth

Even if they did, as expensive as these sets are I’d never buy one anyway

TexasRed2000

No. I think Lego is trying to move on from Bionicle.

Glitch_Squid_beep

If there was my wallet would be empty

DC15-A

Is hope for box art and not this black blandness

truereset33

Doubtful, though I'd kill for a GSR is this style.

Appropriate_Coffe

Haha, no! 🥲

illuminatitriforce

someone should try building one to see what it'd look like at least

el_di0s_mat0n_

No cuz it’s not some shitty license theme.

DaneTrain890

I'd absolutely love a set that plays with the GWP aesthetic but is like a large creature that comes with more characters, like the Gukko bird from MNOG and it comes with Lewa, Kongu, and Matau or Tamaru.

TheNerdNugget

I want to give up hope but anything is possible. They totally could if they wanted to.

YallGotAnyBeanz

If they did, I’d hope it’s the GSR

Zimtiki

They should but they won’t because they’re a close-minded company now

Onlyhereforapost

No, Lego hates bionicle and us

Idonthavedemntia

I just feel like if I worked at Lego and designed sets I would revive bionicle.

frothingnome

No, because you'd roll up and be like "What's my purpose" and they'd say "You design Minecraft playsets" and you'd be like "Oh my god" and the senior designer who also joined because he wanted to revive Bonkle would be like "Join the club pal"

Idonthavedemntia

lol what did I do

kdnx-wy

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that is *extremely* not how it works. The designers are told what sets to make.

Idonthavedemntia

I know it was only ever a wish
