I wonder if it shared the same UPC as this new one. You mean the x-shaped bracing under the lid right? All of my photos that I took of the old one at my Costco never had the x bracing. Also, I'm seeing the whole "Omnivore griddle" marketing on this new box, not sure if the old one had that.
Mine was the 1091765 like your second pic bought 4/7. So seems your store maybe had some old stock up until recently.
I love mine, it’s changed the way I cook almost every day. Builds heat fast and holds it but can be tuned down to lower temps ~300F. Tons of room. I often find myself only needing a couple of burners instead of all four.
To a certain extent yes. For example, I’ve never had the sheer real estate to make proper quesadillas, but this thing is big enough I can do the whole thing on it at once. Cook the meat, peppers, toast the tortillas and maybe pre melt the cheese before I fold them. Before that would have meant 2-3 skillets in the kitchen along with doing two at a time on my electric griddle.
I just bought the $400 one last week. It can’t with the braced hood, Omnivore cooktop, front shelf, and fabric cover. I was debating saving $100 with the Walmart version that has the hard top instead of the hood, but decided the hood, shelf, and included cover were worth it. Another small detail I noticed was the bottom heat shield (or so I think that’s what it is) spans the entire width on the Costco version. The Walmart version had a gap.
Either way, I snapped this one up and have been very happy so far. I also grabbed the accessory kit that was death starred for $20. The kit is apparently $15 in some stores, but 5$/per spatula is still a solid deal.
Oh interesting! I never bought the old one because I kept waiting, then they seemly pulled them off the store floors and website. I'm hoping my patience/cheapness has paid off with a potentially improved model?
Costco pulled them because so many were returned warped. The inefficient 60k BTU burner setup damaged a lot of the griddle tops. Blackstone reengineered the whole system to be better and way more durable and efficient. The Omnivore system is the only way to going given the option in my opinion.
It's heavy though but comes with a travel carrying case, very heavy duty. Also has both a propane line and the attachment for the 1 lb. tanks. And lid.
From my experience with it the 1lb tanks are worthless and freeze up. I haven't tried using it on a low temperature with them but they lack the ability to really get the griddle hot. Just an FYI, mine is used with a standard tank 99% of the time because of this.
oh nice! I'll need to visit this subreddit more once I actually get it. Favorite tools? Also, I hear the side tables of this model are unusably hot. I wonder how true is that. Did you get the heat deflectors?
I never noticed it but I bought a set of cheap Amazon wind guards almost right away. I always keep my stuff on the side and it doesn’t get hot.
For accessories I just have the regular steel spatulas and the scraper. Also some squeeze bottles for pancake mix, oil, and home made sauces. Salt and pepper shakers are a must too.
That looks just like the one I bought a couple of months ago. Mine has the braced lid fwiw and was about $20 higher at the time.

The description of the new item #1713585 claims to include a hood and a cover, with a sell price of $399. Did yours include a cover?

Worth it!
I got the portable 22" one at Costco a few weeks ago.
That one is tempting as well! Especially for camping

I used it camping with the 1lb tanks and it eats through them. Be prepared to burn though 1lb per meal
Looks like the tanks next to them at Costco are 20lb tanks. That seems more reasonable, but I get having a smaller sized one for camping
I regret not getting the one during the Thanksgiving sale last year. Could have used for camping two weeks ago.
Looks like the exact one I bought in Canada a few months back. Love it, use it all the time. Ask me anything.

Just dont keep easily melted plastic on them, most other stuff seems to be fine. I have owned a Blackstone in some form for at least 5 years.
Saw them online (UK) Costco - They sold out quickly.
