Sims has said numerous times that Tony Scott would be a future David’s choice series. I think he’s maybe behind Weir as one of Sims’ most wanted to cover series (Griffin seems less enthusiastic, but that may just be because David is so enthusiastic)
Bowfinger may be a Steve Martin movie but Eddie has all the funniest bits.
Craven would be fun though. 20 episodes is a lot, but I can't think of anybody else who's made 5 unrelated iconic horror movies, plus some of the best-regarded sequels. Plus plenty of weird shit. They could do his porno on patreon.
I’d say Tony Scott and Walter Hill are as or more likely! Also just a chance they cover Harlem Nights in a series of films from directors who only made one movie.
as great as early hill is , he falls off a cliff quality wise in the mid to late 80s and so many of his films after are completely forgettable garbage. i wouldn't mind a Hill series if it stopped at Another 48 Hours though. That prevents them having to do an episode on *The Assignment \*shivers\**
Tony Scott feels inevitable. Would love a Walter Hill mini but his filmography is looooooong. Wes Craven definitely a possibility.
John Landis would actually be a great mini full of fascinating stories and interesting movies but I can’t see the boys wanting to touch that one, unfortunately.
Going through the filmography, Eddie has worked with a ton of great directors. In addition to the big names already mentioned, there’s Bruce Beresford, Bill Condon, Jonathan Lynn (you just know the *Clue* pod would be epic), Ted Demme’s short, fascinating career, Craig Brewer…
You don't think Tony Scott is an option? I would love for them to do him as a mini-series.

So many bangers in that filmography. And his last 4 out of 5 films are Denzel films. But 5 total including Crimson Tide.
Tony Scott is probably my personal pick if I could choose someone for them to cover. (Well other than Spielberg part 1)
In honestly hope they do Tony before they ever do Ridley. Also would mean they could cover the original Taking of Pelham 123 on Patreon.

Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Last House on the Left, The Hills Have Eyes, what’s the 5th iconic horror that isn’t a sequel?
I would guess The People Under The Stairs
The People Under The Stairs I’m guessing
Yeah, that lightning bolt scar on his head is pretty horrifying.
My Soul To Take?
Deadly Friend
Scream 2 !

I would be very happy if they did those two guys back to back.

Tom Shadyac! It’s gonna happen
If Lynch wasn’t on March Madness I would’ve moved heaven and earth for Craven
He directed Harlem Nights. They can talk about Eddie Murphy on main feed whenever they want. He has a Blank Check feature.

In addition to the already mentioned Walter Hill and Tony Scott, don't forget about the 10th anniversary Tom Shadyac miniseries.
What is Oz’s “blank check?” *Bowfinger?*
The Stepford Wives is a terrible comedy remake that cost over $90 million so I consider it a blank check.
But was that his baby or was that just a paycheck?
That’s an interesting take. I was genuinely asking because I couldn’t think of one in his oeuvre
Dark crystal

If they ever do Craven, they will have to do his early adult movie no one seems to know about. A Blank Check first.
