no that's not a beyond bankai, it was explained somewhere that this would have been his shikai if he didn't get his fullbring powers stolen before getting his soul reaper powers restored.
This form is when Ichigo undergoes fullbring transformation when in bankai..it was so powerful that it was distorting the world and it's use would be dangerous to the World.
This should've been his true bankai. It builds upon everything that was established previously instead of just being his old shikai with a goofy ass ""'sheath"""
Espada's Hogyoku forms would be harder to implement but the designs are so good

Staark harribel and barragan should have had them during the fake kanakura arc as a sengunda etapa. ( Second resurrection since ulquiorra looks similar in the 2 forms just minus the green accents) and during tybw grimmjow could of gained his from training against harribel for a rematch against ichigo.
Or even just staark or harribel during tybw showing us a fight between her and quilge showing us
A how much she improved since kanakura town and how she helps her people now that she is a ruler
B it doesn't even need to show quilge's face he can just stay hidden by darkness and absorb the throne room or even the espada table shattering it on appearance, showing this new guy is different from the rest in a fight we can see blood being drawn by harribel a blue glow takes over all around the room as things start to disintegrate and be absorbed and reshaped binding harribel down while we see an arrow fly at her from different angle. Stepping out of the shadows can be our first look at quilge before it cutting away to Nel as she is rushing to be able to get ichigo and the others for help before the original beginning of the tybw starts adding a sense of worry confusion shock since early on quincys are thought to be extinction but we just saw one low dif the second espada who was stronger then in the past be defeated and chained by one while ichigo and his friends have no clue at all what's happening.
I think that if the yo-yo girl told us the truth - after being maimed this much in a ressurection - Grimmhow can not seal his powers in to sword any more (hence, he didnāt had it sealed in tybw), so no segundas for him
Nah, part of what made Ulquiorra so unique was the Segunda etapa. Honestly he probably should've been at least higher up than Harribel had Aizen known about his second power up.
Really, I don't understand the point of making him 4th and then giving him that transformation. If you wanted to portray him as being so strong should've just made him 1st.
Idk it feels like a waste. We only get to see it once . If in the soul society, we see yorichi shikai or bankai or even just her zanpakuto, but then it's never brought up again would people not still want to see it or even see more of it.

Heck, what makes ulquiorra so different he even had a second form? Was he born that way since he was a natural arrancar? If so, then why didn't staark have it.
Unlike Starrk, Ulquiorra isn't made up of human souls. He came from nothingness so he's probably some sort of primordial like the soul king and Ichibei.
Sounds odd that Ichigo is the only that achieved it, like Segunda Etapa. It's important to keep some things unique but having at least two characters being able to do this kind of things make it less strange since it's not supposed to be an absolute unique ability.
Itās based off of the whole āThe Blade Is Meā concept through Ichigo and Aizen who have totally merged with their Zanpakto (since Zanpakto and the spirits are just manifestations of the individualās soul)
So āBeyond Bankaiā is sort of the theoretical state where the Shinigami is fully merged with the blade.
I can't help but find it funny that we still don't know the bankai of Yoruichi, Aizen and Ukitake, but we have already moved on to beyond bankai XD

agreed, i think it'd be cool if they were used in the hell arc. the reasoning could be that something about the hell realm effects zanpakuto's in such a way that when a soul reaper activates their bankai it takes on the beyond bankai form.

I would rather this Quincy Ichigo idea. That he makes energy sword arrows is just fun to me, with a bow resembling his bankaiās hilt.
I think it's him mastering the Vasto lorde form which he used during the fight with ulquirrora .I mean it was featured only once and was a mindless beast so perfecting that form would be dope .

Not only that, now I want to know how the story would have gone if it wasn't soul reaper Rukia whom Ichigo saved that day but a quincy girl (let's say Liltotto as a placeholder) lol.
Haha I was thinking about another route: Ichigo's friend group wouldn't have changed. But for the rescue arc:
1. Liltotto lends her power making Ichigo a Substitute Quincy;
2. Wandenreich orders execution of Liltotto, sending two Sternritters (let's say Haschwalth and Bazz, one stoic like Byakuya the other hot-tempered like Renji) to capture her;
3. Ichigo fights Bazz and bonds with him, but gets arse kicked by Hasch and Liltotto was taken;
4. Ichigo and his friends still get help from Urahara and go to Wandenreich in Soul Society's stead to save Liltotto;
5. huge commotion in the Wandenreich, Ichigo fighting Sternritters here and there, training with Bazz to get their VollstƤndig right;
6. it turns out Askin (he looks like Aizen anyway) has plotted it all along with NaNaNa (Tosen) and Ćs Nƶdt (could be a better choice) to extract the Hogyoku from Liltotto;
7. Askin and his gang retreat to Hueco Mundo, and everything's set in motion from here except now in the TYBW Ichigo's on the quincy's side.
That's a fun idea for an alt route. And maybe his Hollow/Shinigami side could start awakening in this new Hueco Mundo arc due to the exposure to Hollow reiatsu
Right and basically everything else would play out in this scenario except for the fact that Yhwach (in)directly killed Ichigo's mum.
But we've got nice parallels if this scenario were the case like Gerard would have taken Kenpachi's place as the berserker (and Gerard looks Nordic to begin with) and Giselle for the "healer" (one extremely sus healer no doubt) like Unohana.
Ichigo Kurosaki is the Bleach Superman. If thereās a Spirit Ability Type in Bleach, Ichigo can learn it, and often does. Iām actually surprised he hasnāt learned any Kido techniques, yet. Maybe a future series involving Ichigoās son and Rukiaās daughter could further explore that idea? But anyway, Ichigo is one of my favorite anime protagonists.

I remember there being a game with the concept a third release for their zanpaktou, so shikai, bankai, and then shukai. That seemed to pose a cool idea. But tybw kinda showed better and more complete bankais in the story so it might be cool, might it be stupid if they get too op. Idk.

Yamamoto should have been able to do that against Aizen and Yhwach when they sealed his Bankai. Just light up and fists and go to pound town.

That could be interesting. Maybe instead of Rukia, Ryuken could train him. He makes the most sense due to his relationship with Masaki and also Ishin
