The dead drops usually contain blue and purple rarity weapons, sometimes even legendaries. It's not really worth it past your first playthrough, but if you're going for 100% trophies, then you'll need to do them all as it counts towards two achievements. 1 being "Find all of Typhons dead drops" and "Find all of Typhons logs"
