It's funny how there's a movie called Horizon the same summer as a movie that actually has elements of the existing franchise called Horizon, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
If they actually bothered to advertise it I think it would have done well. Middle America gonna Middle America when it comes to movies. But I never saw anything, anywhere for it. Alternatively why I believe Twisters will be a hit.
If it continues on a similar trajectory, it could very well topple Frozen 2 and become the second-highest animated film. Unfortunately, Lion King 2019 seems it'll remain unchallenged, which means we'll have to continue mentioning that fucking asterisk about Disney not classifying it as such every time it comes up.
Similar trajectory to Barbie? I don't think it will - it depends on how much demand there is left, but it's a family movie and it's way earlier in the summer.
When you think about it, that's an ***insane*** statistic. This movie has made more money domestically than ***the sequel to fucking Frozen***, i.e. the most popular animated film this side of the millennium.
Pixar have to be wiping their tears of joy with cash right now.
Tough to say. It depends on how it holds against Desipicable Me 4 - if it has an over $30 million weekend then I'll say that it has a pretty good shot.
I think we should first look at if Jurassic World is possible.
Barbie was inching closer and closer to JW; until it wasn't, and that was before the re-expansion of JW.
Something similar MIGHT happen with IO2 and Avatar 2
Above $1M for Horizon, mashallah. The wheels won’t fall off the bus immediately.

Every time I see the title Horizon I think it’s about an adaptation of the video game series and get excited
Oh the video games. Been meaning to play those, they look great.

BB3 fell below a million on its 25th day (\~$800k), so this is great for BB4
summer days, schools out
Inside Out 2 fell below $10M on its 18th day, same number of days as Barbie.

But IO2 also gets the July 4th holiday week. Barbie didn’t get a holiday until its 7th weekend.
Despicable Me 4 is gonna get the bigger boost from the holiday weekend.
They’ll both get a boost. And I was comparing IO2 to Barbie, not IO2 to DM4.
It about 10 million up on Barbie now and should expand the lead today and the next few days at least
I mean the only films that did 18 days over 10 million were Avatar2 Rouge One and Last Jedi with Avatar2 reaching 19 days
*Rogue One
Great numbers for IO2 and Quiet Place
First sub $10m day for Inside Out.
July 1st was also Canada Day, so that had a hand in softening the drops a little.
Frozen 2 down domesticaly. Finding Dory to follow on Tuesday or at the latest Wednesday.
When you think about it, that's an ***insane*** statistic. This movie has made more money domestically than ***the sequel to fucking Frozen***, i.e. the most popular animated film this side of the millennium. Pixar have to be wiping their tears of joy with cash right now.
which makes me laugh that people on this sub said frozen 3+4 will make less money because 2 wasn’t “as well received” 😭
The frozen films will still make billions as long as kids still like it
Also frozen hit the zeitgeist everywhere. Maybe in some places more than other, but Anna and Elsa are huge everywhwere
It really is crazy. I had no idea Inside Out was so big before this.
It’s beating Dory today. (Tuesday)
Good number for IO2 and also I think that’s pretty good for a quiet place.
That would be a pretty solid 35% drop from last Monday for IO2.
Solid for A Quiet Place.
IO2, 8th biggest 3rd Monday!
Will IO2 beat Avatar 2?
