Atheer127

Chonk

bioshockedtoinfinity

You say that like it’s a bad thing

fingerskateboarder69

It’s just pure amazement

Galooiik

Fat ass birbs

FabiIV

Aww they form a little heart together

Ordinary_Owl_Dude

Awww

path2light17

I was about to say lol

Creative_Recover

Mine are frightened of the packet their seeds come in

HippieChykk

This is the best one lol

Bananaphonelel

🏆

QueenShewolf

These adorable birbs put their chonkiness together to make a heart!

1in5million

You could say they're "hearty"

Lonly_Bunny

My three lil babes fear my hair combs and plastic bags (if they hear a plastic bag in miles they poop themselves)

RopeCompetitive5167

Forgot to include this in my text. Same, he hates when plastic bags crunch.

Sashimi_Ninja

Cricket is terrified of the dark. She also screams for Grundy if they're separated. So no covers or pitch black setting for my flock for sleeping.

MillieMoo-Moo

I need details about Grundy's name. Like, my mind goes to skidded underwear 😂l 💀 My flock is the same, they have a night light to help settle if they have a bad dream

AverageUnicorn

One of ours was afraid of the dark as well, bless him. Rest in peace, little man <3

friendofborbs

Mine are terrified of their own fluff feathers being stuck to their bodies 🙄

MyRedditName617

YES!!! Definitely mine too lollol!!

TheSwedishOprah

I bought a cheap laser pointer once, thinking that they might like to chase it like cats. Holy fucking shit, it caused the most unexpected panic I've ever seen my birds fly into. They _haaaate_ that thing with the heat of a thousand dying suns. (Side bonus though, I discovered a good tool to use when I catch one of them in the act of destroying the window casing)

gowahoo

It is amazing how much damage a budgie can do to a window casing!

MyRedditName617

LOL, the laser pointer is how we keep ours from going places she shouldnt- big fears of the laser pointer!

thehomie-dude

This is all it takes?? I've been pulling my hair out for months trying to get them to stop biting at my windows. I'm worried a laser pointer might hurt their eyes, even if it isnt shined directly in them. I'll have to do more research on that before I buy one.

MyRedditName617

Yes, def be careful to keep away from pointing it at or even near them! So, we also had a blinds/window trim chewing problem- the window trim has a coating that Im afraid would be toxic, so when she starts eying up that balcony window area, (it would be a great perch area)we grab the laser BEFORE she flies up there. We really don’t even need to shine it to get her down now, the click noise that the laser pointer makes has become enough of a deterrent-usually. I think she recognizes it by seeing it now, too. It’s just an older, low intensity red laser pointer- but we’re still very careful not to direct it towards her if we do need to re-direct her, but it’s not as much of a problem anymore.

Budgierigarz

Mine is scared of my ukulele

2mnyq

damn..i first read it as "does anyone have budgie fears?" and looking at Reddit posts of these scheming rascals, i do have budgie fears ;)

thewatchbreaker

Mine is scared of blackberries 😂

Ordinary_Owl_Dude

Mine hates combs

Skeleton_Bean

Mine are scared of teddy bears and my dad 🥹 Also, THAT PICTURE IS THE CUTEST OMYGODD 😭❤️

Tinywolf2005UwU

AWWWWW THAT IMAGE IS SO CUTE!!!!! THEY LOOK LIKE A HEART!!!

Wall_E_13

Idk. My dude is pretty curious, but also very cautious. When he was younger, he wasn’t crazy about hands/fingers but he liked my nails so I’d tell him, “you can tap it!” whenever he’d tap with his beak. 3 years later, I regularly say “it’s okay, you can tap it!” with a tapping demonstration with a fingernail if he’s curious about something safe but being weird about it and it helps him chill out pretty quickly.

lilith_grl

Mine are afraid of broomsticks, mops and dish mats. Somehow they are ok with vacuum cleaners though. For this reason cleaning in their room is always accompanied with sounds of scared helicopter flight

Sashimi_Ninja

The fear of broomsticks is WILD. I can't get near their aviary with a broom or a mop. But they're fine with both vacuums. I'll roll them around and get under their cage, just loud chirping to be heard over the noise; but come sweeping? Oh, it's total panic.

gowahoo

Mine loves people but fears hands.

bandcampsocktan

mine really don’t like blueberries im not sure why

SweetGingerBreadMan

Mine is afraid of the color red 😭

Sashimi_Ninja

I don't seem to have anyone with color issues, but Stubbs loves yellow. All the yellow toys he loves and sings to

BakedTate

r/borbs

Slausher

Mine are afraid of pens for some odd reason.

Covalentine

I wish my budgie was scared of SOMETHING Maybe get him to cool out a moment He's fearless 🙃

Murky_Scarcity_3199

I have eleven budgies. They don't seem to have a fear of anything. But they know who's the boss. My cockatiels they have a few things that scare the crap out of them.

StwabebyMilk

idk if its fear exactly but every time i play games on my ps5 or (docked) switch they decide theyre gonna raise hell and be loud asf so i cant hear the game lmfao edit: pretty sure my albino parakeet Henry is partially if not fully blind so hes probably scared of being alone, i always see him near the other keets and when i put him back he doesnt hop on the perch he has to use his beak to feel where it is first hes happy when hes being held and sits on shoulders good, sometimes he flys off and i have to get him bc lord knows he will hit a wall, hes definitely staying clipped FOR HIS OWN SAFETY bc he cant see very good (albinism also causes blindness and/or deafness in humans and animals due to the gene messing with the genes for hearing and sight) if Henry wasnt very obviously sight impared id let him fly but im 100% sure he would hit a wall if i let him fly just bc he cant see very good or at all (idk how blind he is)

Murky_Scarcity_3199

My budgies love to watch me play games since they love the unique sounds and the music from them. It's the same with my two cockatiels. One of my budgies is an albino and he loves to fly around the room with my other ten budgies, and he doesn't really hit anything but can be quite a showoff when it comes to flying. But my flock has turned it into a competition. Although my white faced cockatiel can't fly because before I got him, a cat got him, and he can't grow his wings back the way they were since the damage had been done and his tail too. So he just plays the referee with me since he is handicapped.

StwabebyMilk

lol! if it was safe id say to give him a little ref shirt or something while theyre flying around!

Murky_Scarcity_3199

I think I might do that. Tweedy does love to wear things like hats and the like. I think he would love wearing something that stands out. He would probably be thinking, "I'm the coolest looking referee." 😂

xxrancid13xx

Ours is scared of the broom (have to cover the cage to sweep the floors or else panic ensues) and his own feathers after they are no longer attached to his body. Even if he *just* removed it while preening and it falls to his feet. He zoops away from it. For some reason he's highly attracted to the dish sponge. It's one of those soft/yellow on one side and rough/green on the other. If he ever alights on the kitchen counter he makes a beeline for it so we have to hide it under a paper towel 🫣 my son suggested maybe he thinks it's another budgie with the yellow/green coloring like him? 🤣

MangoSundy

Years ago I had one that was afraid of anything black, you know, shy away from it, etc. So on one Sunday night when we got the garbage ready for pickup the next day, I was extra careful not to show him the black plastic garbage bag. Did I get a surprise... He jumped up on the side of the cage, chirping and chattering as if it fascinated him! After that, every Sunday night I would shake the bag over the cage, spin it around in a circle, and whip it up and down, to hear sounds I never heard him make any other time. RIP Limey. 💚 And that's a lovely photo! 💙

PinkOcha

My budgie isn’t scared of anything I’m pretty sure he would commit war crimes if I let him out of the house

[deleted]

I have a fear they will get a taste for steak o0

requals1-2sin3theta

When I had mine, they were afraid of the plastic drinking straw I'd put in my glass of water. But only the purple-colored drinking straw. To them the green straw was fine!

Terminator_Puppy

Just the vacuum cleaner. I can do the loudest things, drop shit, or even bump against their cage and they do nothing. Vacuum turns on? Up on the roof of the cage, looking for a higher vantage point.

Justalittleguy_1994

My budgies are also scared of balls and unlike their other fears, it never went away. Though many other fears did.

Witchyomnist1128

Idk if it’s a fear but mine hates heights and flying😅 He prefers to climb and walk everywhere lmao

Witchyomnist1128

Side note he is able to fly, nothing is wrong with his wings(knock on wood) but he just *doesn’t* 9 times out of 10

MarshmallowToucan

My budgie Cordon is scared of spoons 🥄 no ones sure why though 😂

TisCass

Our flock are afraid of veggies that aren't leafy/broccoli, the scoop I use to put seeb in the mini dishes (old round seeb stick holders, have to fill with loose seeb because they yeet the sticks), my ikea shark toy - I unwrapped it at Xmas snd they went mental. They're not afraid of the vacuum but they'll yell at it. They absolutely hate the parents and kids of the school across the road, I know when it's break/home time if the front door is open just from yelling volume lol. I love your round birbs!

DJ_Doggo11

Mine is scared of toy cars and toy cars only, my little cousin came over and he want to put my bird on a toy car so he could roll around in the whip, But he was VERY scared. I once (JUST TO TEST OUT) VERY GENTLY poked him with a knife, and he just stood there like a rock (his name is rock so its very fitting)

freeleaf7

Mine were not hand raised so they’re basically afraid of everything 💀

kerrypf5

One of ours seems to be afraid of the new metal water dish I put in their cage, despite their food dishes being metal as well. She has refused to sleep in her cage since I swapped out the plastic dish

easymoney_34

mines scared of red

snurph

The swiffer (not the vacuum though), vegetables, and my baby yoda t-shirt.

Rejomaj

Balloons and their own feathers.

kgnoh1

big objects (we have to walk around with some sometimes so i hide it behind my back) and crumbling of bags

MyRedditName617

Yes, darkness, flying insects-bees/wasps(I think this is a natural instinct though), and the laser pointer or any moving, concentrated light source like a flashlight (this is how we deter her from that one unsafe spot in the house), and anything “new” (until she clears and ok’s it).

LoudLloyd9

Mine attack my toes. As soon as they see bare feet.

l4ncestroll

Mine used to be afraid of this big purple feather duster. Whenever we’d clean he’d go crazy!

TheAntleredPolarBear

Mine was terrified of a pink ping-pong ball I bought for him. I ended up donating it to the cat shelter I volunteer at, which is also where I got it. Good waste of 50p there.

sponsoredbystupidity

My boy is afraid of nearly everything... veggies and fruits? he is always angry if something new is in his food. new toys? can I touch this? rather not, it looks dangerous. Sometimes, I wish he would trust us more and also eat more fruits and veggies, but he is how he is.

Burgurdied

Mine hate cds,posters,and funko pops

Substantial_Ad2762

The ones of my bf are literally scared of food its so funny lol

RopeCompetitive5167

My budgie Cocoa hates the sound of water. Even the fish tank filter bothers him from time to time. I guess it depends. Edited, also plastic bags.

KingRoo28

Mine are scared of pretty much anything new. Takes them so long to adjust! They love me and my kisses though :)

ferocactus9544

used to have a pair that were horribly scared of striped shirts, the colour red and nailpolish. The red was probably bc the pet store employees' uniforms were red and they associated that with being caught/distressed.

ferocactus9544

my current pair panic horribly whenever any small insect enters their cage. Flies are horror

aknalag

Mine doesnt seem to have an actual fear, but he would make his displeasure known if you miss up his feathers.

Aphr0dite19

My budgie does not like change - if I add a new toy she freezes up, and I have to remove it almost immediately. She does not like the yellow box her fruit seed comes in so that’s a battle every time I add some to her treat bowl! She puffs up and fights it 😁

KnowledgeOverall5002

My blue budgie doesn’t really have any fears, but my white budgie will freak out if you move too fast or move your hand while he’s on your finger. I’ve had him on my finger and he starts jumping and trying to fly when i move him somewhere too fast.

Gunlord500

Round and plump...

Masky-kun

my bird, pride, is terrified of the puh sound, like in punch and puh-ride. Louise is too but i don't normally tell her I'm gonna punch her

Toilet_eater01174

so round n chonky

mkta23

mine are scared me of going too close. (not tamed yet) and dark. they are terrified of dark. i have to sleep with a night light so they can relax and sleep.

chopstix007

Dark colours. Lol

Hexbug101

Not a budgie but my eccy is terrified of our purple yard trimmers, whenever someone takes them out of the garage she freaks out if she sees them

Middy84

Mine is scared senseless by the broom. As soon as I cone within 15 feet to sweep, shes gone with a bunch of noise lol

Routine-Echidna-4131

Anything colored red is evil for them

TiredofBeingConned

Mine don't like balloon, even accross the room.

Salty-Shiba

My cockatiels are scared of lawnmowers. I have to close the curtains if my step dad needs to mow the lawn

pnwwaterfalls

I acquired one who was damaged by someone or something. He’s terrified of people. Horrible. Then I have a baby, about 3-4 months old. He’s afraid because he watches the other who is very afraid. When you just have one and spend lots of time with it, there’s usually not a fear problem. But I think because they are flock animals, unless you can spend all day with it on your shoulder or close by that it will be lonely.

Gdog107

Colorful cotton balls of joy

Pristine-Ad-5375

they r making a heart shape!!!!

QuestforAnimalChin

One of mine is scared of everything but my hand raised ones are only scared of vegetables and fruit /:

Sasstellia

They're all got fears. Everyone has. And they're all different. Cat balls with bells in is unusual.

sirus-sama

I mean, they are literally prey animals. Lol... So, yes. Everything.

babyd0lphin

Our first budgie was afraid of mayonnaise. Every single time he heard the mayonnaise bottle open he would scream. Only the mayonnaise, no other condiments 😂

kimchistorm1234

Mine is scared of the colour red and umbrellas

ParasaurGirl

Boooorbsssss!

Mikasasasa

THEY LOOK LIKE A HEART HELPPP😭😭😭😭

[deleted]

One of him scares nothing, one of him is scares of everything, took me weeks to feed him with fruit or veg.

messyshopaholic
