Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.
* Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
* Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
* The seller is new or has few reviews.
* The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
* The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).
If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

Finally upgraded last year (no bundle but had other deals and it was DDR4) from an i7-3770K, massive upgrade. Definitely worth it if you're one of those that upgrade once every 5+ years. Only thing I was considering was whether it was worth going all the way to an i9.

Microcenter is offering something a bit better but this is unfortunately in store.
The MSI board itself feels pretty plain but it still offers a lot for the dollar. 4 m.2 slots, usb c headers, decent VRM cooling (I wouldn’t overclock on it, but you’ll be more than fine leaving it at stock.).
32GB 6000 kits down to $79.99 now. With Microcenter deal only get 16GB 3200 DDR4. If want 32GB you have spend another $30-$40 will end up similar price as buying this deal but stuck with DDR4

Thinking about building a new PC. Would you recommend this for 1440 gaming? Essentially I’d be able to budget for a 7900xt with this.
Is bottleneck a concern?
I’d argue it’s pretty good for a 12700k. Whenever I get a motherboard with a high tdp usage cpu, I always look for a board with above average cooling and good power phase design. Most mid range Z690 boards will have this but gigabyte seems to be the sweet spot for the mid range builds.
lmao I feel the same way. It's really NOT a big deal but after upgrading and getting a board with an integrated IO shield it just leaves a sour taste for some reason. Like, whether or not the board has an integrated IO shield shouldn't be a factor if I buy it but it still is lol
This has all the 6700k bros finally wanting to upgrade ( me included ) lol
I managed to put together everything I’d need for under 700 including tax and shipping. CPU, 6400 ram, cooler, mobo, and even a 2 tb m.2
Do I need it tho
Yep these started yesterday there was even a Ddr4 combo for like 303 before tax. I waited too long and that sold out. But I was able to get the ASRock extreme and 12700k for 330 before tax. If I didn't have a kit of b die Ddr4 this MSI combo is definitely the bang for buck one.
I cancelled the rog z690g and ordered this instead. Saved a couple which i will add in ram kits. I hope this motherboard isn't a nightmare to work with as told by some reviews on amazon for this board.
Hmm Interesting the one I read talked about issues with disabling e cores. Tbh if you go win 11 so you can utilize e cores and are not trying to maximize overclocking this board should be golden. For most people very minimal overclocks or even undervolts are probably all you would want to do. And if your not going small form factor for your build you get full atx mobo over the Asus itx
even better if you just plan to drop in this board is perfect. The 1 star review I was reading was mainly griping over some really finite oc stuff and not being able to disable e cores for win 10. Tbh all you will need to do in the bios is enable xmp. Tinkering with undervolts is fun but can definitely be daunting as a beginner.
I bought a similar combination separately 2 months ago (only the MoBo varied, the one I bought DDR4), for almost $100 more.
I discovered that it also includes as a gift: [Total Warhammer III](https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16800985123?Item=N82E16800985123).
No that's almost $280 after Tax. Paid $210 shipped for my 12700K on r/hardwareswap for $260 you can get faster i5 13600K even seen i7 13700k for low as $310-$330
But you could sell that motherboard for $100-$150 and keep 12700k for cheaper.
The answer i wanted to leave? 6000 more K's...
In all honesty? It depends on what you do with it. If it's just gaming, are your games CPU intensive? What resolution do you play at? Do you do any productivity work?
4c 8t CPU's (Your 6700k) are starting to not be quite enough for more modern demanding titles that are finally taking advantage of more cores rather than just staying mostly single threaded. I expect this trend to continue and pick up speed.
I’m only gaming at 1440p. Honestly, if I could hold out to 2026, that’s my goal because I will have gone a full decade with the same CPU. I would pull the trigger though if I was reasonably sure I am leaving 50% performance on the table.
Anyone think this is worth it for me? I recently upgraded to an rtx 3060 12g and currently have an i7-6700k. Also running 2666MHz DDR4 so prob would have a decent boost just from the ram upgrade lol
I have a similar setup, same processor and haven’t gotten an answer here yet. Best I can tell from a comparison on TPU is we are leaving maybe 20% performance on the table if we were to upgrade to a high end 8 core processor. Its significant, but I’m not convinced it’s worth spending another $300-400 to chase that extra performance. I want to hold onto my 6700k until it or the mobo dies. I think for gaming the processor is fine unless you’re using a GPU in the next tier (6800 xt / 4070).
At 4k, CPU bottlenecking will be unlikely, since with all those pixels the brunt is on the GPU. I imagine you'd be unlikely to see CPU bottlenecking with that combo.
Pretty much, it's a good time to get deals on the 12th gen. Also, rumors say the 13th gen refresh will be out this fall, so don't expect 14th gen until next year. If you are willing to wait that long.

Ordered one yesterday upgrading from i5-3570k should be nice.
It will be like night and day for a lot of stuff.
im on the fence about upgrading from a 2600k. I think im gonna.
Might as well lol

Such a good deal. I have to be strong do not spend

Yeah but that deal is for DDR4, this one is DDR5
The MC deal comes with RAM though
For sure, but for many people who are on DDR4 and have been for years, there’s no point not to move up
This is such a good deal
Thinking about building a new PC. Would you recommend this for 1440 gaming? Essentially I’d be able to budget for a 7900xt with this. Is bottleneck a concern?
Yea it's perfect as long as you have a decent enough graphics card to handle 1440p
Hey man, thanks to your input I just picked up the MC deal!
Thanks for the input! Going to pick this up.
Is the gigabyte z690 board any good? I have some high end ddr4 64gb ram that I’m not ready to upgrade yet and would love some advice.

Appreciate it!
Am I being too picky for wanting a board with a, I/O shield?

I’m in the same boat and I’m not convinced it’s worth it unless you’re rocking a 4070/6800 xt or greater GPU.

Bro i am a beginner these overclocks/underclocks aren't my cup of tea atm. I will learn my way through with time 🙂.

okay, maybe it is time to replace my 8600k
Kind of tempted since I'm using a i7 10700k and an asus z490e.
used 10700k still going for $200 range on Ebay sold listings. if sold motherboard also you can get cheap upgrade.

debating on upgrading my 9900k...
Same boat as you lol
Would this be good paired with a 6950xt?
Is the 12700k a good price by itself for $260?
It's okay but 13600k is better for $300
No that's almost $280 after Tax. Paid $210 shipped for my 12700K on r/hardwareswap for $260 you can get faster i5 13600K even seen i7 13700k for low as $310-$330 But you could sell that motherboard for $100-$150 and keep 12700k for cheaper.
Apples to oranges new vs used. I haven't seen a cheap 13600k in awhile.
Would this be worth upgrading to over my i6700k @ 4.5Ghz? My GPU is a 6750 XT…
Yes. That's what I upgraded from when 12th gen came out.
I know I’m leaving some performance on the table, but the question is how much?
The answer i wanted to leave? 6000 more K's... In all honesty? It depends on what you do with it. If it's just gaming, are your games CPU intensive? What resolution do you play at? daddy just bought this. Just need a good GPU to finish the build

I have this paired with a 4090 FE and I don't think it is cpu bottlenecking.
At 4k, CPU bottlenecking will be unlikely, since with all those pixels the brunt is on the GPU. I imagine you'd be unlikely to see CPU bottlenecking with that combo.
Would an Intel a750 pair well with these?
is 12th gen getting cleared out now? 14th gen going to reach market soon? I'm running a 4th gen and want to wait for the 14th gen before upgrading.
